This depatcher will downgrade your QFG5 installation to 1.0. It assumes that you're starting with an installation from Steam or GOG.

1. Copy your QFG5 installation to a new location
2. Extract this .zip inside that folder
3. Run depatcher\depatch.bat (it will request admin privileges because the utility I'm using is old; sorry about that!)

Once this is done, your game will be almost exactly as though you had installed it from a 1.0 CD. The only difference is that I also used QFG5Patcher to allow the game to run without the game CD.

From here, you'll need to add the program to DxWnd. (If you don't already have QFG5 setup in DxWnd, go here first.) Then follow these instructions to add a config for 1.0:

1. In the Options menu, turn on "Expert mode"
2. Right-click your current QFG5 setup and select "Duplicate"
3. Right-click the new icon and select "Modify"
4. Change "Path" to your new 1.0 executable
5. In the "Compat." tab (top row, third from the right), enable the "Handle Exceptions" tweak
6. Turn off "Expert mode" so you don't shoot yourself in the foot later

This is all you need to do to allow the game to run in modern Windows; you don't need to enable any other compatibility options.
