Counterworld Guide (mobile)

This is one in a series of level-by-level guides for speedrunning each of the worlds in the mobile version of PUSS!. In this guide, I will go over speedrunning strats for all the levels appearing in Counterworld.

Since the levels don't really have any official names, I try to provide short names and a short description of the aesthetics of each level in an effort to identify them.

I also give each level a 1-5 star rating for difficulty and speed. For difficulty, 1 star is easiest and 5 stars is hardest. For speed, 5 stars is fastest. For each level, I also specify whether Ghost Cat appears. An ✰ next to Ghost Cat indicates that you should always use him if you have enough lives to pay his fee.

# Alien Bridge

A gray, static hall on a blue background. A parade of aliens marches to the left on the bottom. Parts of the hall open and close. At the end, there appear to be 3 exits. The bottom is fake and the rightmost one is inaccessible due to a very rapidly opening and closing section of the hall (there is also an invisible wall, so you can't even brute force your way through to the fake exit). The top exit is the only real one.

The sections of the hall open and close on a predictable interval, so it isn't too difficult to very quickly move through them to the exit once their cycles align.

# Amen

Narrow passages with bullets raining down the diagonal part. In the background and background, a cat is receiving an exorcism on the right while an orange cat next to it says "amen".

No special strats here, just quick, precise movement. If you're feeling very brave you can try to superslide through the level. Even if you don't make it in one shot, you can probably get to the checkpoint and then slide through the rest of the level. It's very tricky though.

# Binary Clock

A blue and black level with tiles of the pathways appearing and disappearing in various patterns, sort of like a binary clock, but not really.

This level is just pure memorization to get through, and Ghost Cat is absolutely useless here. When he shows up, he's on a completely inaccessible part of the level.

# Blues Club

A blue, diagonally-oriented maze with jazzy music. Several red squares come in from offscreen to cross over the maze.

This level just requires fast movement to get through the maze as quickly as possible while avoiding the squares. At the start, there will be several incoming squares from all sides, including a few that will completely block some of the halls. It may be worth taking a death abuse to clear the squares and try to navigate the level while it is relatively empty.

# Crazy Hands

Giant hands with eyes loom over the stage shooting lasers diagonally downward. The BGM sounds like the dramatic score of a Godzilla film with some guy saying "Are you CRAZY?" a bunch.

The mobile version of this level is a lot easier than the PC version since the hands shoot lasers a lot less frequently. Once you get to the upper path, just slide to the exit (and hope a laser doesn't spawn right on top of you). Alternatively, if you're feeling brave, you can also superslide this level.

# Crying Tiger

A blue and purple gaunlet of spinning and moving blocks. A crying tiger is laying on a carpet on the upper-right corner of the level. The background has scrolling mountains.

When the blocks' cycles line up just right, you can superslide through this level. Watch for when the final block is close to the exit, then go!

# Deadly Danger Dungeon

A D&D-style micro-dungeon with several pressure plates that either open doors or activate laser traps. This is one of the mobile-exclusive levels.

Close to the exit, go right to the second pressure plate to open the first door. Then swing down to the lower part of the entrance area to the bottom-most pressure plate to open the door to the upper exit. Move past both doors and straight into the exit. Be careful not to get trapped on the corners of the doors!

# Dolphin War

Dolphins in the ocean on the lower part of the level shoot long lasers upwards on set intervals while short lasers rain down randomly from the heavens. This is one of the mobile-exclusive levels.

There are no special strats for this level. It's kind of slow, so just try not to die.

# Funhouse Backroom

A level with rainbow-colored walls and multiple vertically-moving pistons. On either side of the level are oval portraits of cats. 

After the first 3 pistons, while the 4th piston is down, you can barely squeeze through the gap between the 3rd and 4th piston to immediately reach the exit.

# I Don't Want It!

A zig-zagging magenta path with stationary blinking bullets. The horizontal sections of the paths shift up and down periodically.

You can just superslide through this level. You'll squeeze right past the bullets.

# Kill Him!

The two large of this level contain crossed laser hazards that move back and forth. The BGM for this level is constantly shouting "Kill him!".

In the first crossed lasers area, when you get to the top-center gap, you can skip the incoming walls to get to the upper part early. If you're feeling risky, skip the checkpoint. 

In the second crossed lasers area, there is another very risky trick you can attempt. When you get into the top gap, as the horizontal laser is coming back up, you can move quickly to try to squeeze into the left gap. As soon as you can get into the lower-left quadrant of the crossed lasers, slide to the exit when the vertical laser is on the right side. There is just enough of a gap that you can slip into the exit.

# Kill the Vampire

Blue slow-moving platforms on a black backdrop. On the right side, there are several teleporting holes and the exit, which is also teleporting in a 3x3 area. The BGM for this level has the dialog "No musical instruments were harmed during the recording of this piece... Give me some candy NOW! Kill the vam-pi-re... kill the vam-pi-re...".

Get on board the north moving platforms as soon as you can, and ride it to the center until it connects with the east moving platforms. Cross to the bottom-right area, then across the next east platform to the upper-right quadrant. If you moved quickly, the holes and exit in this area should be in the configuration:

where ▢ is empty, ■  is a hole, and ◲ is the exit. The teleports happen in a predictable pattern, so just slide into the exit as soon as it is in this configuration.

# Laser Scanner

This level consists of a pink pathway raised above a lake of cyan static with cat heads bobbing up and down out of it. A laser beam with two gaps cross from the left to right side of the level.

First, just try to get to the right side of the level quickly while avoiding the walls and laser as much as possible. It is difficult, but possible to stay ahead of the laser the whole time. Position yourself in the upper gap of the laser. As the laser goes by you, do a zig-zagging slide to the exit before the next laser approaches.

# Mayan Basketball

This level features bullets bouncing up from the bottom of the screen across the level in a wave-like pattern. The background has a big, shaking orange cat. The BGM contains a bunch of excited hooping and hollering like some kind of sacrificial ritual is going on.

It is possible, but very risky to superslide this level. If you're not feeling brave enough for that, watch for gaps far ahead in the bouncing bullets and try to move quickly to get to those gaps as you approach the exit. Once you get past the bottom-right corner, you can fairly reliably slide to the end.

# Noah

This level features a derpy orange cat with a spinning pyramid shooting squares of light that rain down the left and right sides of the level. The BGM of this level contains the dialog "Noah... Show me your faith... build me a ship! Son of a bitch! Caaandyyyy...".

This level mostly just requires swift movement while avoiding the square light bullets. On the right side of the level, it is possible to skip past some squares in the zig-zagging corridor. At the final stretch, just slide to the exit once the squares are out of the way.

# Pearly Whites

Pearl-white platforms above a pit of massive, rapidly chomping teeth. A giant laser bisects the level horizontally in the center.

If you start with a bad cycle with the first two moving platforms, use death abuse to advance the cycles so that they are approaching more closely to the starting platform. Board them, and cross over to the platforms going over the laser until you reach the bottom area of the level. ~~If you death-abused earlier and Ghost Cat is there, just use him to exit the level. Otherwise, slide to brute-force your way past the teleporting blocks and get to the exit. This slide is tricky and may take a few tries. If you fail and Ghost Cat appears, just take his offer to exit the level~~. Only use Ghost Cat if you have too much trouble doing the slide. 

# Pinwheels
Difficulty: ✰✰

A gauntlet of overlapping spinning blocks resembling pinwheels. A humanoid figure on the right side spins around while in a crouched position, as though in deep thought.

On the last big pinwheel, it is possible to save some time by going clockwise around it. This can be done when the corners of the overlapping blocks are all in the same position, giving you a very brief chance to slip through.

# Purple Rave
Difficulty: ✰✰✰

A purple level with constricting vertical halls and techno music. Two faceless cats are on the left and right sides of the level.

In the middle section, you can skip two walls at a time to go a bit faster. Otherwise, just move quickly through the halls, but not so quickly that you go too far ahead and get squished.

# Red Death

A dark hallway of red static with dark blue brick walls. There are multiple gaunlets of cannons shooting red bullets. The way to the upper part of the level is blocked by a gate that is opened with a timer switch. 

This is casually one of the hardest non-Hell levels in the PC version of the game. On the mobile version here, there are fewer, but larger bullets to deal with, and the bullets in the hall just past the gate are slower. 

It is feasible to get past the gate without opening it all the way since there are so fewer bullets in the lower hall. Once you get past the cannon in the hall just past the gate, slide to the exit when the upper hall is clear of bullets.

# Searchlight

A searchlight tries to look for PUSS while you must hit switches to extend bridges. If PUSS enters the searchlight's area, it'll lock onto him and start shooting bullets. After crossing the final bridge, the level glitches out and the searchlight starts spewing bullets in all directions.

If you get caught in the spotlight, you escape by moving really fast. Don't worry about getting caught in it though. Just go for the switches as fast as possible, even if the searchlight is in the way. It takes some time for the bridges to extend, so it may actually be helpful to use death abuse (possibly using the searchlight for that since bullets kill you immediately) to advance the frames for the bridges. Once the final bridge is extended, slide into the exit.

# Stretched Lake
Difficulty: ✰✰

An aquamarine path over a blue lake. The center part of this level stretches in a low-resolution kind of way.

On a good starting cycle, the middle will almost be fully stretched. Cross along the bottom to the other side. Wait for it to start recompressing. Slide to the exit when the exit and the path to its right are very stretched out.

# Swim Practice
Difficulty: ✰✰✰

Ghost Cat: yes

A blue level shaped like a backwards C with mint-green tiled walls. In the middle-left, there is a solid-colored humanoid figure that looks like it's swimming.

No special strats. Just go fast.

# Tiger Freebie
Difficulty: ✰
Speed: ✰✰✰✰✰
Ghost Cat: no

A horizontal hallway with squishing walls. A tiger rests on a lounge chair ontop of the hallway. To either side of the level there are headless female mannequins in the background, censored by the level itself. The left side of the hall has the word "cmd". The right side of the hall has the word "ctrl".

95% of the time, the way to the exit will be clear as soon as the level starts. Just superslide right in! This level is practically free!

# Werewolf Maze
Difficulty: ✰✰
Speed: ✰✰✰✰
Ghost Cat: no

A spinning maze with a spooky BGM featuring howling wolves.

If you get trapped in the left or top corners, death abuse to try to either advance frames or get to a better spawn point.

# Super Red Hot Jackpot Lucky 777
The pre-boss corridor is fairly straightforward. With some careful movement, you can get to the switch at the end quickly.

This boss is very RNG heavy, but in the mobile version of this game, you can typically take each cherub out in the first and second phases with just one round of POWs. You can chew through them even faster if you death abuse to skip frames. As soon as you collect enough POWs to activate Wild Mode, hit the switch to start rerolling the slots, since POWs will stop falling once a cherub is defeated. Defeat one of the Cherubs and repeat. On the final phase, once you've collected enough POWs for Wild Mode, death abuse while in Wild Mode to advance frames while you're damaging the boss and you'll chew through its health in no time!

General Strategies

## Sliding
One of the key strategies used in the PC and mobile ports of this game is sliding. This is a movement technique where you move very quickly across walls to get to the exit of a level quickly. This takes advantage of the fact that you have about a second-long period of being against a wall before you die. Sliding will not protect you against bullets, just walls and floor hazards. 

On the console ports, this strategy is not as useful (but still possible to an extent) due to joystick controls.

## Ultra-sliding
In some levels, especially early on, it is possible to to ultra-slide from the start to the end of the level to complete them very quickly.

## Flying
Some floor hazards do not count as walls, so you can move across them for about a second before you die, similar to sliding.

## Avoid Clocks!
Clocks will slow down cycles in most levels and are generally a time loss. Avoid them!

## Ghost Cat
In levels that normally take forever to get through , you can die on purpose to try to get Ghost Cat to spawn and skip the level. If Ghost Cat ever does spawn, you have enough lives to spare, and it would be faster to get through his dialog than to clear the rest of the level, always talk to Ghost Cat and accept his offer.

## Joystick Boosting (console only)
Both joysticks can be used to control PUSS! in the console ports. You can move both joysticks at the same time to make PUSS! go faster.

## Switch Touchscreen (Switch only)
When playing the Switch undocked, you can use the touchscreen to move PUSS. Beware that the Switch's touchscreen movement is not nearly as smooth as on the mobile ports. It has a very jagged feel to it, but it makes a lot of the slide strats from the mobile ports possible.

Hell guide (mobile)

This is one in a series of level-by-level guides for speedrunning each of the worlds in the mobile version of PUSS!. In this guide, I will go over speedrunning strats for all the levels appearing in Hell.

Since the levels don't really have any official names, I try to provide short names and a short description of the aesthetics of each level in an effort to identify them.

I also give each level a 1-5 star rating for difficulty and speed. For difficulty, 1 star is easiest and 5 stars is hardest. For speed, 5 stars is fastest.

Note that Ghost Cat will never appear in any of these levels. So if you get a slow or especially difficult level, you cannot use death abuse to try to summon him.

# Baphy's Barbeque
Difficulty: ✰✰✰✰✰
Speed: ✰✰

On the left and right edges of the level, Baphomet stands over a barbeque grill. Hitting the switches and the hidden triggers causes changes to the level, such as opening new paths or conjuring cascades of green bullets. The final part of this level is a fake-out that looks like the very beginning of the game.

This level just requires you to mainly memorize where the hidden triggers are after you activate the switches. First, hit the first accessible switch on the right to activate the left grill and cascade of bullets on the left side. Go up, left, and around the upper path back to the right side of the level. Take a death to get spawn closer to the left switch as soon as the level changes. Hit the switch now accessible on the left. The right grill will light up and there'll be cascades of bullets on both sides of the level. To to the upper area, and go left, to activate another hidden trigger. Then make your way through the right cascade to hit the final switch on the bottom-center-right. Right after hitting the switch, run into a bullet to get back to the left side of the level more quickly. Then make your way into the area past where the leftmost switch was pressed to get to the fake-out and exit the level.

# Big Spiky Monster
Difficulty: ✰✰✰✰
Speed: ✰✰✰✰

A very dark level with spiky corridors. The bottom-left area of the level looks like a 4-eyed monster with a bunch of teeth surrounding the exit.

In the upper-right area with the diagonally protruding In the bottom section, you can kind of move through the centermost sections of the spiky walls if you move quickly through them. 

# Blasphemy
Difficulty: ✰✰✰
Speed: ✰✰✰✰

The left and right sides of this level have mazes with illusions for walls. Every now and then, the real walls will appear very briefly. In the center, there is a fish flopping around with the word "Blasphemy".

Going through this level quickly basically just requires you to memorize where the real walls are. The left side is a straightforward downward zig-zag. You can slide through there to get to the checkpoint very quickly. The right side will require a little bit more careful movement, but on the last third of it, you can pretty much do a left-ward zig-zag to slide to the exit.

# Factory's Day Off
Difficulty: ✰✰✰✰
Speed: ✰✰✰

This level has several very narrow vertical corridors and no music aside from some soft ambient noises. The layout of this level very closely resembles that of Hell's Factory.

Just move swiftly, but carefully until the final shaft. Then slide to the end.

# Fire from Heat, Heat from Fire
Difficulty: ✰✰✰✰
Speed: ✰✰✰ or ✰✰✰✰

Scrolling walls with a lake of lava above and below. The right side of the level has fireballs jumping from one lake to the other.

Spatial awareness is key to get through this level quickly. Watch for the gaps between the walls to line up. Corners between nearby walls are just suggestions! If there is at least a 2-pixel gap between two blocks, you can squeeze through them if you need to escape to a better spot or dodge an incoming fireball. Depending on the cycles you get, this level can be pretty fast.

# Happy Birthday!
Difficulty: ✰✰✰✰✰
Speed: ✰✰✰

Th level has a lot of spinning '+' signs you must navigate around to reach the exit in the upper-right corner. The BGM says "Happy Birthday" while cheerful carnival music plays. Every now and then the music and most of the obstacles stop while a bunch of cat heads shake from left to right and say "NOPE".

The mobile version of this level is a bit harder than the PC version because there is less room to maneuver around the obstacles. Do your best to swiftly move past the gaps between them, especially when time becomes stopped!

# Heavy Metal Death Cherub
Difficulty: ✰
Speed: ✰✰✰✰✰

A dark level where you can only see a short distance away from PUSS! except for a cherub with a cannon in the center that fires bullets at PUSS!. 

There is a clip at the very start of this level that basically lets you go through the wall straight through the exit. Just slide right and slightly downwards, and you'll finish this level immediately. This is a very easy and consistent skip to get!

# Hell Crusher
Difficulty: ✰✰✰✰✰
Speed: ✰✰✰

Two massive, red-hot glowing crushing blocks dominate the left and right sides of this level. On the far left and right sides are mirrors with a cat and a wall of fire inside. Gaps in the blocks provide brief shelter and passage through the level.

In the bottom-left quadrant, just go straight the bottom center as soon as the left block lifts. Then swing around to the first checkpoint when the right block lifts and get to the bottom-right corner if you can get in there in time. Make your way quickly up the right side as soon as the passages. Get to the safe column in the upper-center area next. Don't go after the second checkpoint! When the left block is up, get into its first upper column. When it goes back down, slide to the exit.

# Hell's Factory
Difficulty: ✰✰✰✰✰
Speed: ✰✰✰

Narrow, vertical corridors with two lava machines moving up and down while extending walls left and right. The BGM has loud machine noises.

No special strats. Just go fast!

# Hidden Polka
Difficulty: ✰✰
Speed: ✰✰✰✰

The level starts as a grey room with no music and a cat head with black, soulless voids for eyes. After reaching a certain point, the level becomes more colorful and cheerful polka music plays.

About halfway through the level, just slide the rest of the way to the exit.
 
# Join Us!
Difficulty: ✰✰✰
Speed: ✰✰

A group of cats is performing a ritual around a fire. Every now and then, they will turn to look at the player, causing the level to change. There are several timer switches that open new paths.

There are no special strats for this level. It is basically an autoscroller.

# Lasers in the Dark
Difficulty: ✰✰✰✰✰
Speed: ✰✰✰

A very dark level with several laser obstacles.

If you haven't already, go to your pause menu and set B/W to 0 so that you can actually see the level! Aside from that, just memorize the pattern of the lasers to move past them quickly and get to the end. Once you reach the bottom corridor, slide to the exit when it is safe from lasers.

# Lava Rafts
Difficulty: ✰✰✰
Speed: ✰✰

This level has several moving platforms over a tunnel of lava. Two timer switches on the right side of the level move the platforms needed to cross to the level's exit.

Get to the bottom-right switch as soon as you can, and press it until the right exit platform is about 1 square-width above the exit. Then ride the raft to the upper switch and press it until the left exit platform is 1 square-width below the exit. Right the raft back down to the middle and cross the switch-activated platforms to the exit.

# Marble Zone Act 1
Difficulty: ✰✰✰
Speed: ✰✰✰✰

A level with blue brick walls and lava that chases after you.

Just go fast and slide to the exit as soon as you can.

# Not Cerberus
Difficulty: ✰✰✰
Speed: ✰

A fake-out of the Cerberus boss fight area from World 1. This level is pretty much an autoscroller where you wait for the platforms to rise and then hit the switches or triggers to raise the next platforms until eventually the exit rises from the last remaining hole. Ghost cultists attack you constantly after you press the first switch.

Touch the platform triggers as soon as you can to keep the platforms rising up as quickly as possible, going offscreen to hit them early or using death abuse to advance frames as necessary.

# Satan's Tooth
Difficulty: ✰✰✰
Speed: ✰✰✰✰

A dark level with a gold tooth floating in the bottom-left corner. 

No special strats. Just squeeze through the tight gaps between the rotating blocks at the start, then move quickly to get to the exit.

# Sausage Maker
Difficulty: ✰✰
Speed: ✰✰✰✰

This meaty-looking level resembles a cross between a digestive tract and a sausage making machine.

At the start, you can squeeze between the diamonds and their pivot when the diamonds are close to the corners of their movement. In the center area, just move through the center. The thin parts where the walls meet won't stop you. At the final part, just slide to the end when the spikes are up.

# Static Spikes
Difficulty: ✰✰✰✰
Speed: ✰✰✰✰✰

A dark level with rows of spiked columns that scroll upwards.

At the bottom where you enter the maze of spiked columns, it is possible, but difficult to slip past the first oscillating column, the first row, and a low-hanging wall. Once you slip through, just go left into the exit.

# Baphomet

This is the final boss fight against Baphomet, divided into 2 phases. The first phase is pretty much an autoscroller where you have to survive a bullet hell barrage from Baphomet and use the bombs to blow up the cultist orbs. In this phase, just focus on surviving and eliminating the cultist orbs as soon as possible. When the final orb appears, you can destroy it with one round of bombs if you position them right. I would LOVE to know if there is some clever way to speed up this phase of the boss fight. Death abuse to advance frames doesn't work unfortunately.

In phase 2, the PUSS! Gundam fight, focus fire on Baphomet's forehead and just tank all the meteors and moons he throws at you. If he conjures a forcefield, destroy it as soon as possible and go back to shooting his head immediately after.

Innerworld guide (mobile)

Since the levels don't really have any official names, I try to provide short names and a short description of the aesthetics of each level in an effort to identify them.

I also give each level a 1-5 star rating for difficulty and speed. For difficulty, 1 star is easiest and 5 stars is hardest. For speed, 5 stars is fastest. For each level, I also specify whether Ghost Cat appears.

# Banana
Difficulty: ✰✰✰

Kitten faces scroll up the right and left sides of the level while 3 cat heads appear to be eating a snack just offscreen at the bottom. The BGM often says "Well, paint me yellow and call me banana".

If you're very fast, you can sit on the timer switches until their gates are only half-way open. You can then squeeze through the small, middle gap into the exit.

# Block Party

Ghost Cat: no

A guantlet of moving blocks with palmtrees and fire to the sides, and a tiger at the bottom.

There are a few places where you can skip past gaps between the blocks to get ahead in their cycles. Slide to the exit once there are no blocks in the way.

# Dolphin Baptism

Ghost Cat: no

The level features a pool of water with a floating humanoid figure. When you activate the timer switch, the path to the exit opens, dolphins rise to the surface, and a cat face appears in the void of the gate's area.

After the gate to the exit is barely open, you can slide to the exit quite easily.

# Drip
Difficulty: ✰✰

Ghost Cat: no

A pool at the top of the screen rains giant cat heads down to the pool at the bottom of the screen as obstacles. This is a mobile-only level.

It is super easy to just swing around into the exit immediately without even sliding. This level is practically free unless you run into one of the dropping heads.

# Eggs

With some speed and spatial awareness you can skip between gaps in the blocks to move ahead of their cycles. Slide to the exit when you reach the bottom path.

Move to the 2nd 2x2 platform on the right when it appears. Then once the path to the exit is clear, slide to it. The teleporting dance of the tiles may seem random, but this strategy works very consistently, making this a very fast level if you do it correctly.

# Funhouse Backroom

This level is another painfully slow one, but there is a trick you can do to skip waiting on the first platform. If the first moving platform is aligned with the top path, you can actually clip into the off-path area, fly to the left and reboard the platform! On a good cycle, the next platform should be aligned with the path you're on, so get ahead to it, cross to the next platform, and finish the level normally.

This level mostly just requires swift movement while avoiding the square light bullets. On the right side of the level, it is possible to skip past some squares in the zig-zagging corridor. At the final stretch, just slide to the exit once the squares are out of the way.

If you start with a bad cycle with the first two moving platforms, use death abuse to advance the cycles so that they are approaching more closely to the starting platform. Board them, and cross over to the platforms going over the laser until you reach the bottom area of the level. If you death-abused earlier and Ghost Cat is there, just use him to exit the level. Otherwise, slide to brute-force your way past the teleporting blocks and get to the exit. This slide is tricky and may take a few tries. If you fail and Ghost Cat appears, just take his offer to exit the level.

# Pet the Kitty

# Serenade Lake

# Triangle Wave

An oscillating, angular path with stationary square dots as obstacles over a lake. If you wait long enough (which you probably won't), a flaming tiger on a magic carpet will cross the lake on the bottom of the screen.

This level is pretty easy to superslide.

# Valentine Bridge

A pink and white level with cherubs flying in the background and moving platforms providing bridges across the paths. The music sounds like it is perpetually rising in a never-ending crescendo. 

By moving quickly, you can move across all 3 moving bridge platforms at once to get from one side to another. On a good cycle, you get to the rightmost shaft when the red gap is closed. The last part is a lot riskier for crossing all 3 bridge platforms in one go. Try getting to the first safe tile first as the bridge platforms are coming down, then slide the rest of the way as they are going back up.

# Priestess
In the bottom part of the corridor, you can just fly over the pits to get to the middle hall with the checkpoint quickly. You must next press the switches on the left and right sides of the pre-boss corridor. Go first to whichever side the alien isn't on. You can fly over the hole along the top edge of the level. You cannot fly over the hole in area with the right switch. Immediately after hitting either switch, death abuse to return to the center and advance frames. When both switches are pressed, Fly back across the bottom-center hole to the gates and slide through as soon as they are opened at least a few pixels wide.

During the boss fight, focus on getting the Priestess to step on spikes until she exposes her core. Don't worry too much about avoiding the spikes or barf puddles. They'll start hurting you, but you can pretty much fly over them. When her core is exposed, go inside it and camp there! You'll lose a lot of lives doing this, but it'll make all the eyes shoot their bullets directly at the core, allowing you to defeat her quickly. If you're lucky, you might be able to defeat her in one cycle this way. If you're low on lives after the first cycle, you can also try death abusing to summon Icarus to finish her off. If she only has a little bit of health left, instead just get her to run over some spikes.

Mustache Ghost Cat Mini Time Save (Phone & PC)

Mustache Ghost Cat is vital for skipping some of the longer stages of the game. However, getting to the Ghost Cat directly after you die can be a bit of a problem, as you must hover over the Ghost Cat while you have no invincibility frames to actually talk to him. PUSS' invincibility frames usually take a couple seconds to run out, so you lose a bit of time trying to talk to the Ghost Cat right after you die. The entire process of waiting for your invincibility frames to stop before talking to Ghost Cat can be skipped. To do this, just make sure PUSS dies right over where Ghost Cat will spawn on the stage. If done correctly, the text box will appear immediately after you die. Just click the screen or press space to move the dialogue along and get out of the stage. Be aware, though, this will only work on the stages where Ghost Cat spawns right next to where PUSS spawns. Is this a super long explanation for a process that takes about 2 seconds? Yeah... But it may be helpful to some degree for shaving off those few seconds.

Outerworld guide (mobile)

This is one in a series of level-by-level guides for speedrunning each of the worlds in the mobile version of PUSS!. In this guide, I will go over speedrunning strats for all the levels appearing in Outerworld.

Since the levels don't really have any official names, I try to provide short names and a short description of the aesthetics of each level in an effort to identify them.

I also give each level a 1-5 star rating for difficulty and speed. For difficulty, 1 star is easiest and 5 stars is hardest. For speed, 5 stars is fastest. For each level, I also specify whether Ghost Cat appears. A ✰ next to Ghost Cat indicates that you should always use Ghost Cat to skip this level if you have enough lives to pay his fee.

# Alien Bridge

A gray, static hall on a blue background. A parade of aliens marches to the left on the bottom. Parts of the hall open and close. At the end, there appear to be 3 exits. The bottom is fake and the rightmost one is inaccessible due to a very rapidly opening and closing section of the hall (there is also an invisible wall, so you can't even brute force your way through to the fake exit). The top exit is the only real one.

The sections of the hall open and close on a predictable interval, so it isn't too difficult to very quickly move through them to the exit once their cycles align.

# Alien Elevator

The right side of this level features a very slow moving platform with 3 aliens that are also patrolling along its path.

This level is painfully slow. Death abuse to summon Ghost Cat as soon as possible.

If you absolutely must get through this level, get to the elevator and ride down it until there is only 1 PUSS-length left in the gap between the elevator and the bottom path. You can fly over the gap at that point and slide into the exit.

# Alien Mines

The bottom of the level has a couple acid pools with moving platforms. The top part has aliens moving from the right to left side of the level in a pulsing corridor.

In the bottom part of the level, you can move across the acid to get to the upper area quickly. Just move quickly in the upper part to get past the aliens and into the exit shaft.

# Blood Moat

A purple level with brick walls, moving platforms, and a moat of blood. A crouched humanoid figure rolls over and over in the blood on the left side.

Get into the gap in the center of the level just before the crushing walls. When the walls are open, slide to the exit. You can move over the blood in the upper corridor.

# Cannon Carousel
Difficulty: ✰✰✰

Blocks and cannons shooting downwards move around this level counter-clockwise. A timer switch opens the path to the exit. 

On a good starting cycle, there'll be a block on the right path from the start and a cannon on the top path from the start. Duck past bullets from that cannon to get behind the block and follow it until you get to the top-center part. Move to the center, and skip under bullets from the cannon in the upper-left quadrant to get to the timer switch early. Get just in front of the next block and follow the cannon until you get to the bottom-center. ~~Skip through the center, get behind the next available block on the right, and slide to the exit when the block goes around the upper-right corner.~~
New strat for the final stretch: Once you move through the center, wait for the next cannon to approach the upper-right corner, then after it has fired a bullet halfway there, slide in ahead of the upcoming block. You'll be able to slip into the exit past the cannon as it goes around the corner.

The cannons in the mobile version fire a lot more slowly than in the PC version, so it is a lot easier to skip past the bullets.

# Danger Panorama

This will sometimes appear as one of the first levels in this world. It consists of a raised, zig-zagging path with mountain patterns on the walls underneath. A cannon crosses back and forth along the bottom of the level, shooting bullets upward.

This level is VERY punishing since it is a very long winding path that can take a while to traverse safely. Make your way to the upper-right corner of the path, and then do a long slide to the exit when it is clear of bullets. 

You can also try sliding the level after the first couple U turns. This is risky though. Just make sure there aren't bullets in the way when you attempt this.

It is possible, but way too risky to superslide this level. Attempting to do so will most likely require several tries, either ending with you running into a bullet or not getting far enough in the slide and dying. The superslide is not worth it on this level.

# Dolphin War

Dolphins in the ocean on the lower part of the level shoot long lasers upwards on set intervals while short lasers rain down randomly from the heavens. This is one of the mobile-exclusive levels.

There are no special strats for this level. It's very slow and Ghost Cat won't appear, so just try not to die.

# Elevators

A series of black elevator-like platforms on a blue background. The elevators have the words "up" and "down" indicating the current direction of their movement.

On a good cycle, you'll be able to cross multiple elevators at a time. Sometimes it'll be necessary to skip corners to get across to the next elevator quickly.

Casually, this is a slow level. Thankfully, the lasers are just suggestions if you move quickly through them. Also, if you time the cycles on the moving blocks right, you don't even need to hit the switch to get right of the clockwise-moving blocks. Just skip straight to the upper part of the level, then clip through the right laser as it's going down, and slide to the exit. If the right laser cannon is at the bottom of its movement, you can actually skip past the corner between it and the wall.

# I Don't Want It!

A zig-zagging magenta path with stationary blinking bullets. The horizontal sections of the paths shift up and down periodically.

You can just superslide through this level. You'll squeeze right past the bullets.

# Kill Him!

The two large of this level contain crossed laser hazards that move back and forth. The BGM for this level is constantly shouting "Kill him!".

In the first crossed lasers area, when you get to the top-center gap, you can skip the incoming walls to get to the upper part early.

In the second crossed lasers area, there is another very risky trick you can attempt. When you get into the top gap, as the horizontal laser is coming back up, you can move quickly to try to squeeze into the left gap. As soon as you can get into the lower-left quadrant of the crossed lasers, slide to the exit when the vertical laser is on the right side. There is just enough of a gap that you can slip into the exit.

# Lava Gates

The left side of the level has a bunch of slow-moving gate-like walls you have to get around. The right side of the level has a raft going over lava. Past the left side is a background with a lake and some mountains.

Casually, this level is very slow! Thankfully, there is a great skip right near the start that involves flying over the lava! As soon as no gates are blocking your path to the lava just to the right of the start, fly over the lava to the center part of the level. Maneuver around the moving blocks and into the exit. It is also possible to skip past the moving blocks on the left side to go straight into the exit.

A purple level with constricting vertical halls and techno music. Two faceless cats are on the left and right sides of the level.

In the middle section, you can skip two walls at a time to go a bit faster. Otherwise, just move quickly through the halls, but not so quickly that you go too far ahead and get squished.

# Red Death

A dark hallway of red static with dark blue brick walls. There are multiple gaunlets of cannons shooting red bullets. The way to the upper part of the level is blocked by a gate that is opened with a timer switch.

This is casually one of the hardest non-Hell levels in the PC version of the game. On the mobile version here, there are fewer, but larger bullets to deal with, and the bullets in the hall just past the gate are slower.

It is feasible to get past the gate without opening it all the way since there are so fewer bullets in the lower hall. Once you get past the cannon in the hall just past the gate, slide to the exit when the upper hall is clear of bullets.

# Sentry Alley

A dark hall with 3 cannons searching for PUSS. If they spot you, they'll lock on and start shooting bullets at you.

This level resembles Tetris, but sideways. A moving mountainscape covers the bottom of the level, and you have to survive until the exit rises like the morning sun above the mountains.

You can kind of clip into the mountains to get to the exit early just as it becomes barely visible.

# Vapormaze

A blueish level with a scrolling maze in the center and two switches for opening the exit. Greek statues stand by either side of the exit.

How quickly this level goes heavily depends on the cycle you get at the start. On a good cycle, you'll be able to enter the maze quickly, hit the right switch, then the left switch, and then follow a bottom opening from the maze to the exit. On a bad cycle, it can take a while for an opening into or out of the maze to present itself. If you have a bad cycle trying to enter the maze, death abuse to advance frames and get an opening closer to the start.

# Mothership

The corridor has no special strats until the last switch is pressed to summon the Mothership. Make your way to the top path just under the Mothership (if you're fast enough, you can boop the key before she takes it! This won't let you actually get the key, but it's fun to show off). When she starts shooting bullets, stay still in the very center to dodge the first three pairs of bullets.Scoot slightly to the right to dodge the next one, and move back to the center to collect Chronicorn's clock slightly earlier and begin the boss fight.

If you have lots of lives, just position yourself right under the Mothership's ovaries to maximize your firing output and damage while also death-abusing to advance frames! On a clean fight, she won't ever try to heal.

When all her ovaries are destroyed, slowly back off from her while keeping near her until you get close to the bottom of the screen. Then let her sit right on top of you for maximum bullet damage and death-abuse for advancing frames!

Overworld Guide (mobile)

# Block Party

# Cherub Crossing

Hit the switches to extend all the bridges, then make your way to the platform just to the lower-right of the center as the last bridge is still extending. Scoot into the exit as soon as it passes by you.

# Crazy Hands

Giant hands with eyes loom over the stage shooting lasers diagonally downward. The BGM sounds like the dramatic score of a Godzilla film with some guy saying "Are you CRAZY?" a bunch.

The mobile version of this level is a lot easier than the PC version since the hands shoot lasers a lot less frequently. Once you get to the upper path, just slide to the exit (and hope a laser doesn't spawn right on top of you). Alternatively, if you're feeling brave, you can also superslide this level.

# Danger Panorama

This will sometimes appear as one of the first levels in this world. It consists of a raised, zig-zagging path with mountain patterns on the walls underneath. A cannon crosses back and forth along the bottom of the level, shooting bullets upward.

This level is VERY punishing since it is a very long winding path that can take a while to traverse safely. Make your way to the upper-right corner of the path, and then do a long slide to the exit when it is clear of bullets.

You can also try sliding the level after the first couple U turns. This is risky though. Just make sure there aren't bullets in the way when you attempt this.

It is possible, but way too risky to superslide this level. Attempting to do so will most likely require several tries, either ending with you running into a bullet or not getting far enough in the slide and dying. The superslide is not worth it on this level.

# Dolphin Show

There are a bunch of cannons shooting upwards above a lake. A dolphin jumps out of the lake with applauding hands when you cross the center of the level. 

Try to squeeze between the bullets as much as possible to move quickly. When you are on the left side and the path is clear of bullets, slide to the exit.

# Drip

A pool at the top of the screen rains giant cat heads down to the pool at the bottom of the screen as obstacles. This is a mobile-only level.

It is super easy to just swing around into the exit immediately without even sliding. This level is practically free unless you run right into one of the dropping heads.

# Eggs

A maze with moving fried eggs as obstacles. At the bottom are the words "sim sa la bim!".

You don't even need to go through the right side of the level. Once you get past the 2nd gauntlet of eggs, just slip past the incoming eggs and slide into the exit.

# Floral Slots

A headless cat is on the right side of the level with its neck forming a portal wreathed in flowers. The cat's head appears on the left side of the level. The level itself is a guantlet of blocks that bounce vertically back and forth. The BGM has jazz music and casino noises.

With some speed and spatial awareness you can skip between gaps in the blocks to move ahead of their cycles. Slide to the exit when you reach the bottom path.

# Gore

A pearlescent level with a cat at the bottom missing the top of its head. Lasers shoot out from the head. The top of the level has the word "G O R E". 

This level is very tricky with the barrage of lasers you must dodge while also navigating narrow corridors. When you are past the lasers, you can slide to the exit, but be careful not to clip past it!

# Hail Mary

In the middle of this level, there is a mirror with Saint Mary flanked by two cats and a lot of candles. 

You can superslide this level in one or two attempts. If you fail the first time, you'll likely hit the checkpoint and it's easier to slide through the rest of the level.

# Jumpscares

A level with green walls that randomly try to suddenly crush you while crossing the flashing areas.

Move really fast to get to the upper path and get past any walls that try to crush you. Then swing around really fast into the center to get past the second flashing zone. As soon as the narrow path out of the center opens completely, slide to the exit.

# Laser Gates

Multiple skinny lasers with small, moving gaps scroll down from the top of this level.

With a rapidly zigzagging slide moving slowly upward, you can reliably superslide this level.

# Lava Gates

The left side of the level has a bunch of slow-moving gate-like walls you have to get around. The right side of the level has a raft going over lava. Past the left side is a background with a lake and some mountains.

Casually, this level is very slow! Thankfully, there is a great skip right near the start that involves flying over the lava! As soon as no gates are blocking your path to the lava just to the right of the start, fly over the lava to the center part of the level. Maneuver around the moving blocks and into the exit. It is also possible to skip past the moving blocks on the left side to go straight into the exit.

# Mayan Basketball

This level features bullets bouncing up from the bottom of the screen across the level in a wave-like pattern. The background has a big, shaking orange cat. The BGM contains a bunch of excited hooping and hollering like some kind of sacrificial ritual is going on.

It is possible, but very risky to superslide this level. If you're not feeling brave enough for that, watch for gaps far ahead in the bouncing bullets and try to move quickly to get to those gaps as you approach the exit. Once you get past the botom-right corner, you can fairly reliably slide to the end.

# Noah

This level features a derpy orange cat with a spinning pyramid shooting squares of light that rain down the left and right sides of the level. The BGM of this level contains the dialog "Noah... Show me your faith... build me a ship! Son of a bitch! Caaandyyyy...".

This level mostly just requires swift movement while avoiding the square light bullets. On the right side of the level, it is possible to skip past some squares in the zig-zagging corridor. At the final stretch, just slide to the exit once the squares are out of the way.

# Princess's Gate

A pink level with a pool of water in front of a slope rising to the exit. A giant white cat paw stomps on the upper dirt patch. There is a hidden timer switch on the lower dirt patch which expands the gate to the exit. Panthers on magic carpets flank the exit.

You don't even need to hit the timer switch. When the gate is just barely open, you can actually slip through it and exit the level almost immediately. You can also just fly over the water.

# Serenade Lake

A pink level over a lake with moving platforms and a timer switch in the middle with a cascade of bullets raining down. Two giant cats behind the mountains in the background stare at each other while romantic music plays.

You can fly over most of the void in the left area with the moving platforms to get to the center moving column. You will have to fly from one platform to the next, however, so you cannot fly straight from the start to the middle. Finish the rest of the level normally.

# Stargate

A circularly level with orbiting bullets. You must press 4 timer switches to open the gates to the exit.

You don't need to open the gates all the way. As long as they are at least a couple pixels wide, you'll be able to slip through to the exit.

# Stretched Lake

An aquamarine path over a blue lake. The center part of this level stretches in a low-resolution kind of way.

On a good starting cycle, the middle will almost be fully stretched. Cross along the bottom to the other side. Wait for it to start recompressing. Slide to the exit when the exit and the path to its right are very stretched out.

# Tetris Sunrise

This level resembles Tetris, but sideways. A moving mountainscape covers the bottom of the level, and you have to survive until the exit rises like the morning sun above the mountains.

You can kind of clip into the mountains to get to the exit early just as it becomes barely visible.

# Turquoise Hell

A series of narrow, shifting passages with turquoise walls. A timer switch nearby a cannon opens the path to the exit.

This level is very punishing if you die on the walls before getting to the checkpoint. When you get to the timer switch and open the path to the exit, you can skip past the bullets and then slide to the exit from there instead of waiting for the upper path to also open and then going all the way around the level.

# Vapormaze
Difficulty: ✰✰✰✰

A blueish level with a scrolling maze in the center and two switches for opening the exit. Greek statues stand by either side of the exit.

How quickly this level goes heavily depends on the cycle you get at the start. On a good cycle, you'll be able to enter the maze quickly, hit the right switch, then the left switch, and then follow a bottom opening from the maze to the exit. On a bad cycle, it can take a while for an opening into or out of the maze to present itself. If you have a bad cycle trying to enter the maze, death abuse to advance frames and get an opening closer to the start.

# The Best Creation
You can get through the corridor almost immediately by supersliding through it! Don't even worry about the cannons or their bullets! When you get into the boss arena after your slide, be sure to get yourself back towards the center since it is likely that from ending the slide, you may have ended off the arena platform.

How you survive the bullet hell segments is largely up to your skill and style with bullet hell games. For the initial wave of bullets, where The Bestie fires a fan of bullets, there is a blind spot in the pattern just under the center of the arena between the two tiles (not accounting for bullets falling from above).

For the subway trains segment where you have to hit the blue switches and avoid red switches while The Bestie looms in the background, try to access as many switches as possible using the middle train, but transfer over to the outer train if it would help you reach other switches faster (or if those other switches are inaccessible from the inner trains. Also, you can move across corners from platforms in this segment, even if there are holes to either side.

Once you've hit all the blue switches and you've entered the slapping segment, you can reliably defeat The Bestie in just one cycle with the right tapping technique (this is much easier to do that 2-cycling Cerberus). For doing this, I like to do a sort of two-fingered drumroll on my phone's screen to tap very quickly.

Speedrun Strategies for World 1 (PC Exclusive)

World 1 is quite possibly the fastest world in the game, as long as you get decent RNG in your run. However, World 1 can be frustrating simply because of the RNG aspect and because it is the beginning of the run entirely. This guide is intended for use in patch 1.2, however, it is practically interchangeable with all other patches. For patches after 1.2, there might be levels that are not on this guide. This guide is a W.I.P, but will most likely be done by then end of the week.

The First Two Levels:

The first pool of levels is generally considered the easiest levels in the game; therefore, they should be used as learning tools for future levels (especially in regard to sliding/supersliding). Personally, I would recommend that you should reset if you lose a life here, mostly because it's really easy to reset from this point. Keep in mind that the first two levels of the game WILL ALWAYS PICK FROM THIS POOL OF FOUR LEVELS.

hei: Generally considered one of the hardest superslides in the game. This has its benefits, as this is the perfect level to practice sliding and supersliding! For speedrunning, you should be able to superslide this one without losing any lives! (Viable) (Very Fast)

We are gonna show you>: Another basic superslide, just move your mouse in a circular motion! Another practice level. (Viable) (Very Fast)

[...]: The final superslide of the first three levels! The final easy practice level of the ones listed above. Make sure to have fun with it while it lasts: the rest of the levels are a little tricky. (Viable) (Very Fast)

三: The level opens with PUSS! on the bottom bar, needing to go to the middle bar through a moving platform and from the middle to the top with another platform before exiting the stage.  Another easy level, even when both moving platforms are desynced. If the platforms line up well, a superslide is easily accomplished! (Viable) (Usually Very Fast)

Levels After the First Two:

These levels are a little hard to explain. This is a list of all the levels you can potentially have when going into the third level. However, you can still get these levels from levels 3-7. Keep this in mind when going further into World 1.

儀式: A bit of a step up from the above levels, you must keep a steady hand and navigate around the projectiles. Be careful, however, as there are many corners and projectiles on this level, both of which are instant deaths. DO NOT TRY AND SLIDE THIS LEVEL! You can technically slide this level, but I assure you it is not worth it: You'll either eat up all your lives trying or game end yourself. (Viable) (Fast)

It's Raining Cats: The level opens with PUSS! in an extremely tight corridor, with barriers going into a diamond shape closer and closer to the middle of the stage before going large again. There are cats raining down on the right-hand side of the screen. This level is another tricky one, as there are no long movements you can make with your mouse. You must use extremely short, and precise movements whilst avoiding the barriers. The extended walls alongside the barriers make sliding practically impossible, with the exception of the very last straight line in the level. All of the movements are jittery and the halls are far too narrow, making dying VERY easy. If you know how to maneuver and are ok with taking a 1-2 second time loss then go for it. But I would recommend resetting if you see this level. (Not Viable) (Pretty slow unless you know what you're doing. And even then it's pretty slow.)

les tortures: Another seemingly simple level with a circular motion superslide right? No, actually... The superslide on this level is possible, but risky. I would recommend you go through to the middle of the level (Where the jittering bar is) and then slide through the last of the middle part as precisely as possible to the end of the stage. Overall though, it's a great level! (Viable) (Fast)

Tropical Petals: You start at the left of the stage, with the right corner of the stage containing a distorted Mother Mary under a palm tree, getting rained upon by flower petals (Yeah, it's weird. But it's not last time something will rain down on Mother Mary in this world.) The platforms move up and down with the end platform being much larger than the rest and in a J-Shape. Keep in mind that the "water" below these platforms is traversable. You will not die immediately when touching the water! This allows for some very fast movement! This also allows for a superslide, however, it's a little risky. I would recommend wading through the water and platforms until you reach the last platform, then slide form there to the exit. If you wish to superslide then be very careful, as there are a lot of walls you could get caught on! Try to make the straightest line possible at a 60 degree angle until you reach the big platform, then slide in a J-shape to finish the level. Pretty fast, and actually quite a lot of fun! (Viable) (Fast/ Very Fast)

Cats and Boxes: The stage is shaped like a very long U. Boxes move around the stage with impressive speed, with the boxes on the last straight punching close to the other wall next to it. The first straight is quite simple, just follow the box that passes the opening to the start of the level into the next chamber/straight. The next straight is just a straight where you have to move PUSS! out of the way of the boxes. The third straight (The bottom of the U) is done by, again, avoiding the moving boxes or waiting until they are off the entrance to the chamber and then going for it. Move in a zig-zag pattern to avoid the boxes in the last chamber and exit the stage. There are no gimmicks to this stage. It's as straightforward as it could be. Another level that is great to practice with! (Viable) (Medial/Fast)

and so what: Hey! It's another superslide level! The level looks kinda like a sideways P, with a tiger jumping up and down to release projectiles all over the place! Don't worry about the projectiles: They look big, but have really small hitboxes! Just slide your way to victory! Why is it so late on the first three levels if the first four were superslides? Well, you can also encounter this level on levels 4-9, so... yeah... (Viable) (Very Fast)

Cat Paperclip: Why Cat Paperclip? Well... The stage kinda looks like a paperclip! You start near the middle, where the horizontal straights close in a pattern of where you start to where you end. For example, if the stage starts with the second horizontal straight closing, then the third will be next, then the fourth, before starting right back at the first one again. Move through the first two horizontals and check which horizontal is closing. If one of the first two are closing, then slide to the end of the stage. If one of the last two are closing, wait until they BOTH finish closing before sliding to victory! (Viable) (Fast/Very Fast)

来客:  This level is an upside-down triangle with crosses moving all around the stage. You can spawn on either of the three points of the triangle (My personal favorite is the top left side :)). If you pay close enough attention, you will notice the exit moving in a certain pattern. This pattern goes: Top right, bottom left, top middle, bottom left (a little higher this time), and top middle. Honestly, though, none of that really matters. You'll most likely be frantically trying to run into the exit once you get to inside the wall of crosses. By the way, the crosses move. So try to find an opening whenever possible. Each spawn point has a really small opening to squeeze through (sorry, it would take far too long and would make no sense to you if I explained them here.) (Viable) (Very Fast)

Water and Boxes: Another doozy of a level. Remember that the open space a platform leaves will not kill you immediately. This level looks somewhat like a sideways y... kinda... There is a moving platform that leads to two squares circling another square. From this, there is a horizontal straight with another large square moving up and down in an attempt to crush you. There is another one of these square on the same horizontal straight leading to a U formation with another platform that leads to the exit. Wade through the water and go into the square that the two circling squares inhabit. Make sure to time it so you get into the square without being crushed by the one of the other two. If quick enough, you might be able to squeeze under the first square on the horizontal straight. If not, wait until it opens. You'll have enough time to go through even with the other smaller square on your tail. In the middle chamber, wait until the second square if up, and then slide to the finish. (Viable) (Fast/Very Fast)

Species: A stark white level with a tiger floating near the right side of the screen. Another superslide. Just be careful not to hit any of your surroundings with this one. Again, another practice level. (Viable) (Very Fast)

Spinning Cat: There is a spinning cat in the middle of the level, shooting projectiles out of its eyes. The level has one small U inside of a much larger U, being connected by a small piece of stable platform. PUSS! starts on the very right tip of the large U. Navigate your way around the projectiles until you reach the top left tip of the small U (this is at the spot where both Us connect). Check to see where the projectiles are and slide to the exit if there are little to no projectiles in your path. Alternatively, you CAN superslide the entirety of the level, just be aware of the projectiles. (Viable) (Very Fast/Fast)

Beautiful: The level starts with PUSS! in the bottom right corner of the screen. The moon shines over the level, with a cat sitting in the bottom right-hand side of the screen.This is another straightforward one! You simply follow the path until you get to the exit. You can start sliding on the horizontal that makes up the top half of the s-curve near the end of the stage. (Viable)(Medial)

Levels after the first three: 

:3: A pretty difficult looking level at first, with the entire level moving and whatnot. You might have to wait a little bit before moving, as PUSS! may be blocked in from the start. Make sure to start on a long straight, maneuvering the mouse past the reverse S-curve before getting to the point to turn into the middle of the level (to the right). Turn right and go to the middle of the level where there should now be an opening large enough to move through. Then move down and into the exit. Alternatively, you could move from the beginning of the level to the top portion, where there is a part of the middle platform that you can just squeeze through. From this, an opening at the bottom will appear where you can go down and finish the level as explained above. If your spacial awareness allows it PUSS! can go off the map where the reverse S-Curve is without dying at all, which saves less than a second. Honestly, this level is quite fast if you know what you're doing, and quite easy to learn if you don't know what you're doing. (Viable) (Fast/Medial)

L vel: Ah, the original Scary Maze! This time with no cheesy jumpscare to make you punch your screen in and then piss your pants (God, I love that video). Many narrow corridors and long horizontals. This level is quite simple: Navigate your way through the maze and go to the exit. However, like I said, the corridors are VERY narrow, so be careful! Once you get to the last portion of the level, you can slide to the exit. (Keep in mind that you SHOULD reset if you die here twice at most. It is not worth the struggle if you get this level at this point in the run.) (Semi-Viable) (Fast/Medial)

Levels NOT in the level 3 pool (levels 4-7):

Remember that the levels above can appear in levels 4-7 as well. Also, be a little more lenient with yourself regarding dying. I would say you could comfortably die around 2-3 times before you should reset now.

Tropical Paradise: You start the stage on the bottom left corner of the screen, with a corridor opening and closing above PUSS!. There is a moving piece of empty space and a safe zone along the only horizontal in the level.  On the last corridor to the exit, three square will disappear and reappear in the pattern of middle square, outer squares, middle square. You want to time the first corridor so you start to move right when the first corridor walls start to open. Wait for the open space to go behind the safe zone and scurry into said safe zone. Wait until the empty zone is closest to the first corridor and go to the third corridor. After this, it's just waiting to get your timing right to CAREFULLY slide to the exit. Yes, if you go too far you can miss the exit, which WILL kill you unless you jut your mouse upwards in time and hit the exit. (Viable) (Fast/Medial)

Mary's Avocado Hell: DO NOT PLAY THIS LEVEL! RESET IF YOU SEE THIS LEVEL ANYWHERE! This level is far too long to do in a speedrun. It starts PUSS! in the bottom left corner of the screen. The bottom half of Mother Mary is on the left side of the screen, her top half being that of an avocado split in twain. On the right side, there's Mother Mary with a twitching eyeball for a head and a dolphin for arms. The level is cast in a sickly green light. Navigate PUSS! through the narrow corridors until you reach the first moving plat form and take it. Repeat for the rest of the level until you get off the last platform, where you can slide to the exit if you have not taken much damage. If you have taken some chip damage, then slowly move your way through the maze until you reach the exit. (NOT VIABLE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES) (Very Slow) (Please just reset if you see this level)

Static Hell: This one's a little tricky to explain... You'll notice the level right away, as the background resembles that of a slightly red staticky television screen and the platforms flashing a bright green and pink color. PUSS! starts in the bottom left corner of the screen. On a good cycle, the platforms will connect PUSS! platform and the middle-left platform together, which you can quickly move to. If they are not connected, then wait for them to connect and then move. Wait until the middle-left platform connects with the first horizontal of the level, which is one that will have an empty space moving from left to right. Traverse this horizontal platform and wait for the next platform to join. Once they do, grab the save point. Wait until the vertical walkway (the one that stretches out the furthest from the rest) opens up all the way. While it's open, quickly move upwards from the shifting platforms onto the wide platform. Then, wait for the next horizontal (the one with the moving open space) to have an opening where you can stand on the timer. Wait for the two walkways to elongate until they just about touch one another. Then, wait for the empty space to be behind PUSS! and slide to victory! (Viable)(Medial/Slow)

Nuclear Hibiscus: PUSS! starts in the top left corner of the screen. There are three twitching pillars directly to the right of PUSS!. Be very careful of these pillars, if you touch the pillar while it is moving (which is constantly) you will immediately die. The best way to go through these pillars is to go corner by corner (I know corners are instant kills, but trust me) until you end up in the middle opening of the third pillar. Wait until the moving square goes away from the pillar and make your move. Go up or down depending on the position of the moving square and make your way down to the bottom two pillars. From this point you can slide the rest of the level. (Viable)(Fast/Medial)

Jesus' Oranges: PUSS! starts at the top left of the screen. You must take one of the moving orange platforms and ride it until you get any of the openings between the block barriers. Be careful, however, as the platforms get smaller and smaller as they move! Do the exact reverse for the other side, except you will go to the exit this time.

Underworld guide (mobile)

This is one in a series of level-by-level guides for speedrunning each of the worlds in the mobile version of PUSS!. In this guide, I will go over speedrunning strats for all the levels appearing in Underworld.

Since the levels don't really have any official names, I try to provide short names and a short description of the aesthetics of each level in an effort to identify them.

I also give each level a 1-5 star rating for difficulty and speed. For difficulty, 1 star is easiest and 5 stars is hardest. For speed, 5 stars is fastest. For each level, I also specify whether Ghost Cat appears in the level. A ✰ means that you should always use Ghost Cat if you have enough lives to pay his fee.

# Banana
Difficulty: ✰✰✰

Kitten faces scroll up the right and left sides of the level while 3 cat heads appear to be eating a snack just offscreen at the bottom. The BGM often says "Well, paint me yellow and call me banana".

If you're very fast, you can sit on the timer switches until their gates are only half-way open. You can then squeeze through the small, middle gap into the exit.

# Binary Clock

A blue and black level with tiles of the pathways appearing and disappearing in various patterns, sort of like a binary clock, but not really.

This level is just pure memorization to get through, and Ghost Cat is absolutely useless here. When he shows up, he's on a completely inaccessible part of the level.

# Block Party

A guantlet of moving blocks with palmtrees and fire to the sides, and a tiger at the bottom.

There are a few places where you can skip past gaps between the blocks to get ahead in their cycles. Slide to the exit once there are no blocks in the way.

# Blues Club

Ghost Cat: no

A blue, diagonally-oriented maze with jazzy music. Several red squares come in from offscreen to cross over the maze.

This level just requires fast movement to get through the maze as quickly as possible while avoiding the squares. At the start, there will be several incoming squares from all sides, including a few that will completely block some of the halls. It may be worth taking a death abuse to clear the squares and try to navigate the level while it is relatively empty.

# Cannon Carousel

Blocks and cannons shooting downwards move around this level counter-clockwise. A timer switch opens the path to the exit.

On a good starting cycle, there'll be a block on the right path from the start and a cannon on the top path from the start. Duck past bullets from that cannon to get behind the block and follow it until you get to the top-center part. Move to the center, and skip under bullets from the cannon in the upper-left quadrant to get to the timer switch early. Once you move through the center, wait for the next cannon to approach the upper-right corner, then after it has fired a bullet halfway there, slide in ahead of the upcoming block. You'll be able to slip into the exit past the cannon as it goes around the corner.

Close to the exit, go right to the second pressure plate to open the first door. Then swing down to the lower part of the entrance area to the bottom-most pressure plate to open the door to the upper exit. Move past both doors and straight into the exit. Be careful not to get trapped on the corners of the doors!

# Dolphin Baptism

The level features a pool of water with a floating humanoid figure. When you activate the timer switch, the path to the exit opens, dolphins rise to the surface, and a cat face appears in the void of the gate's area.

Dolphins in the ocean on the lower part of the level shoot long lasers upwards on set intervals while short lasers rain down randomly from the heavens. This is one of the mobile-exclusive levels.

# Exotic Pool Party

This level is horribly slow, and Ghost Cat won't even show up if you die. Make your way to the checkpoint. If at this point, the leftmost platform isn't in the bottom half of its movement path, moving upward, death abuse to advance its frames. Then finish the level casually.

# High Tide, Low Tide

One side of the level has no water, the other side is covered in water. Both sides have moving block obstacles. When you move into the left side, the left side will start filling with water, while the right side starts draining water.

The strategy for this level may seem very scary and risky, but it is very quick as long as you remain calm and focused. At the start of the level, just as a red block is about to move past you, move in front of it, and make your way underwater into the exit of the level. The water won't kill you immediately, and you'll have just enough time to reach the exit.

A dark level with blue paths and creepy music accompanied by the sound of ocean waves.

At the start of the level, when one of the long bridge platforms is just barely aligned with the start area and the path below it with the timer switch, quickly do sort of a U-turn across the bridge to the timer switch. Sit on it long enough to extend the bridge and then slide to the exit.

# Pearly Whites

Pearl-white platforms above a pit of massive, rapidly chomping teeth. A giant laser bisects the level horizontally in the center.

If you start with a bad cycle with the first two moving platforms, use death abuse to advance the cycles so that they are approaching more closely to the starting platform. Board them, and cross over to the platforms going over the laser until you reach the bottom area of the level. If you death-abused earlier and Ghost Cat is there, just use him to exit the level. Otherwise, slide to brute-force your way past the teleporting blocks and get to the exit. This slide is tricky and may take a few tries. If you fail and Ghost Cat appears, just take his offer to exit the level.

# Pool's Closed

A dark level with a black pool in the center that expands to the edges of the level and then recedes. There is a cat head in the middle of the pool.

If you dodge around the obstacles quickly, you can get through this level in just one cycle of the pool expanding and receding.

Halls with wavy obstacles and shrimp getting boiled, fried, and seasoned.

# Stretched Lake

An aquamarine path over a blue lake. The center part of this level stretches in a low-resolution kind of way.

On a good starting cycle, the middle will almost be fully stretched. Cross along the bottom to the other side. Wait for it to start recompressing. Slide to the exit when the exit and the path to its right are very stretched out.

# Triangle Wave

An oscillating, angular path with stationary square dots as obstacles over a lake. If you wait long enough (which you probably won't), a flaming tiger on a magic carpet will cross the lake on the bottom of the screen.

This level is pretty easy to superslide.

# Vapormaze

A blueish level with a scrolling maze in the center and two switches for opening the exit. Greek statues stand by either side of the exit.

How quickly this level goes heavily depends on the cycle you get at the start. On a good cycle, you'll be able to enter the maze quickly, hit the right switch, then the left switch, and then follow a bottom opening from the maze to the exit. On a bad cycle, it can take a while for an opening into or out of the maze to present itself. If you have a bad cycle trying to enter the maze, death abuse to advance frames and get an opening closer to the start.

# Werewolf Maze

A spinning maze with a spooky BGM featuring howling wolves.

If you get trapped in the left or top corners, death abuse to try to either advance frames or get to a better spawn point.

# Sea Mistress
The corridor before the Sea Mistress boss fight requires you to get through the cocktail party... the SHRIMP cocktail party! Just brute-force your way straight up past all the shrimp, even going off-screen until you run into the butler and start the pre-boss dialog. Make sure that you hit all the triggers to make the screen advance forward! Then touch the key to start the boss fight.

During the Sea Mistress boss fight, focus on hitting as many switches as possible in order to feed her lots and lots of Bullet Bills! Keep in mind that the corners between the obstacles are suggestions. You can pretty much move right through them to avoid getting trapped or escape an incoming Bullet Bill. Thankfully in the mobile version, the Sea Mistress doesn't shoot bullets from her eyes at you. Once her health is depleted, start death abusing to advance frames until you escape the Underworld on Ric da Fi$h.

World 1 guide (mobile)

This is one in a series of level-by-level guides for speedrunning each of the worlds in the mobile version of PUSS!. In this guide, I will go over speedrunning strats for all the levels appearing in World 1. For a level-by-level guide for the PC versions of these levels, see Niftybumpkin's guide.

Since the levels don't really have any official names, I try to provide short names and a short description of the aesthetics of each level in an effort to identify them. 

I also give each level a 1-5 star rating for difficulty and speed. For difficulty, 1 star is easiest and 5 stars is hardest. For speed, 5 stars is fastest. If you get a 1-star level, you should reset your run or try to use death abuse to summon Ghost Cat to help you exit the level early. For each level, I also specify whether Ghost Cat appears in the level. A ✰ next to Ghost Cat means that you should always use him if you have enough lives to pay his fee.

# Alien Crossing

Two aliens patrol around this level with a glitchy center and stretching bridges.

The top and right static floors can be traversed over. Once you're on the central platform, just fly over the static and slide into the exit.

# Bouncy Tiger

A tiger hops up and down on the right side of the screen while bullets shoot from the right wall.

Ultra-slide immediately to the exit. You won't even have to deal with any of the bullets as long as you act fast enough. Be careful not to accidentally clip past the exit.

# Cheesus

A cheese-colored level with Jesus and a fish (the fish doesn't appear in the mobile or console versions). 

As soon as you get to the point where you can cross over to the other side, squeeze through one of the platforms further up ahead to do so and board one of the platform closest to the exit.

This level contains a bunch of expanding and contracting squares as obstacles. Two switches must be pressed to reach the exit. The soundtrack sounds like electric church organs playing over an old radio.

Soundwave-shaped bullets fire from the right side of the screen to the left. A 3D cat shakes its head along the bottom of the screen.

Slide to the exit as soon as no bullets are in your way. The hitboxes for the soundwave bullets are slightly smaller than they appear, so it is possible to squeeze around them if you need to.

# Dolphin Party

# Donald Duck ER

A switch at the beginning starts forming a path to the exit while bullets pour out of a large portal on the right resembling an infamous Internet shock image. On the left, two cherubs hold Jesus up, with one of them saying "Oh no!" when the portal opens. The BGM for this level sounds like Donald Duck aggressively performing ✰ahem✰ surgery on somebody.

Try to keep as close to the end of the path as possible as it expands. In the middle path, it is possible to slide underneath an incoming bullet if you need to. If you can't follow it all the way to the end, slide the rest of the way as soon as bullets aren't in the way.

# Eye Contact

Board the second leftmost section of the bridge and ride it down until the leftmost section lines up with the path toward the exit. Then slide to the end. You don't even need to go to the right side of this level.

Tigers riding moving platforms serve as both obstacles and as protection from bullets cascading from the top and bottom of the screen.

Try not to get blocked off my the tigers. If they block you off at the start of the level, death-abuse to advance their frames so that you're unblocked. If a bullet is blocking a corridor, you can barely squeeze around them if you briefly slide against the walls.

# Mary's Discount

On odd cycles with the expanding quadrants, it's still possible, but risky to try to slip through to the next bridge. After you hit the switch, try to immediately go through the last bridge to the other side while it's still appearing.

# Mary's Pool Party

Like beautiful, except instead of a moon, there is a sun that rains bullets. The corridors also shift slightly.

# Nobody

A multi-hued path between two giant 3D hands, with moving block obstacles. In the soundtrack, there is some whimpering and a voice that says "Who am I? I'm just a nobody."

Move optimally past the obstacles' cycles and slide to the end as soon as it is clear. In the part where a block is fired out of a wall and goes around a loop, it is easy to skip past the first corner straight to the checkpoint.

# Nuclear War Flower

A cat sits on a rotating cube on the left side of a guantlet of block obstacles. Another cat sits on the right side watching a second rotating cube. This level is named after the title of its BGM.

A giant cat looms over the right side of this level. The horizontal corridors squeeze shut on an interval. The shape of this level kind of resembles a paperclip.

# Predictions

Bullets come from the top, right, and bottom sides of the area. On the left, an upper hand drops blood into two hands below. The soundtrack for this level says "Can you predict the future? Do you know what will happen in 100 years?"

Alternatively, slam into a bullet as soon as the level starts to clear out all the bullets. Then superslide to the exit.

# Raining Cats

Teleporting blocks arranged in a diamond shape block the maze at certain points. Cats rain from a hole in the ceiling in the right side of the level. Because there are very tight corridors and there's no checkpoint (unlike the PC version of this level), this level is very difficult on mobile.

Ultra-slide to the exit as soon as no blocks are in the way.

Ghost Cat shows up in this level, but upside-down, and in the background where he is unreachable.

# Rapture

The left side of the screen has a sliced open avocado and the right side has a jittery eyeball resembling the Eye of Sauron. Moving platforms provide passage from one quadrant of the level to another.

The moving platforms are wide enough that you can quickly cross them to the other side when they're at their half way points. Then in the final quadrant, slide the rest of the way to the exit. (The PC version of this level is much slower!)

# Scanner Portrait

Corridors of bridges, blocks, and crushing walls, all on cycles. The final part has a timer button that opens the path to the exit. This level is brown on the PC version and purple on mobile and console.

~~Once you get to the save point, wait for a gap in the moving blocks and crushing wall so you can move past the upper-left corner of the moving blocks area and the wall at the same time. Once you've sat on the timer long enough to barely open the path to the exit, slide to the end.~~

A short spiraling hall with a 3D tiger rotating around alternating axes in the center of the spiral. Cocktail drinks are arranged ontop of the level's path.

All the walls are shaking. In the upper-right quadrant there is a framed painting that moves around.  

Do not attempt to slide on the shaking walls. They will kill you. Once you're at the bottom, just zip straight to the exit, keep yourself as vertically straight as possible.

# Cerberus
In the cave leading up to Cerberus's platform, just move as quickly to each rising square as possible until you can get to the boss's platform. Be careful not to slide past the dialog trigger.

You should have at least 15 lives going into Cerberus. During the boss fight, focus on collecting the POWs as quickly as possible. Tank Cerberus's eye lasers and acid if you need to. If you mash quickly enough while your POW gauge is filled, you can defeat Cerberus in two cycles.
