Generally we discuss new category ideas on Discord (invite link in the list on the left side of the screen) but in case people can't/don't want to use discord, new ideas can be surfaced here that can then be taken by us into the discord for community discussion.
Im not too sure if this thread is still valid, but I think a Finding Nemo Catagory Extention would be cool. You have to find the community named Ghost Leviathon "Nemo" and scan it in order to complete the run.
Still happy to consider ideas submitted here as well as discord. However we are trying to not add too many more one-dimensional "do this one thing" categories. But I may present this to others for consideration.
I think Moonpool% would be cool. The idea is that you need to construct a Moonpool and dock both a seamoth and a P.R.A.W.N. Suit in it to complete the run. Another idea is QEP Dock%. The idea is where you have to dock the Cyclops in the dock at the QEP to complete the run. I'm hoping this thread is still open after a year.
I think Seaglide would be a fun fast speedrun to go for, you get a seaglide as fast as possible, as well as Death - ghost were you die to a ghost leviathan as fast a possible since we already have death any, reaper, and dragon. hope this thread is still open :)
Something like docking vehicles is already kind of covered by the vehicle category itself - adding the element of parking them in a moonpool does not really add much to the run.
Seaglide is a bit too fast really, since you normally get that within 3 minutes of any run. Required Tools is a slightly longer (but still really short) run that has a little bit more going on, to make it more interesting.
Ghost Leviathan is strange to not have for Death category, but at the same time it does not feel very different from Reaper - you would just swim in a different direction (probably South) to get to one of the adults. I think that's why it isn't there.
Unusual%... You need to scan, construct, and interact with the unusual doll. Time ends at the start of the first interaction with the doll.
