Anyone familiar with speedrun webpage and are looking to help moderate? Iam new to the webpage, so categorizing and sorting into patch versions and such is happening, just at a slow pace as I am learning.
So I can't comment on my run because my account isn't 7 days old yet, or send a message so im reaching out here. My 9:09 is on patch 1.8a because it was technically yesterday, I just got around to posting it today. The 1.8b just came out today.
I'm not sure how often these little patches are going to be so it might not be prudent to make a new set of categories for every patch but at the same time each patch also changes things slightly allowing for different possible run times.
I'm not sure the complete capabilities of customization for the page. But I figure maybe the best way to do it is split it up between mega death and normal death. Then split again between past versions and current version.
So essentially you'd have 4 pages, past versions death/mega death and current versions death/megadeath. Then on the past versions page you could have some sort of indicator on exactly what version the run is on.
At some point in the run I think the players should have to pause because it shows the version the game is on in the pause menu.
Aah good point on the pausing, should maybe start adding a requirement to pause after defeating Death.
I've looked at other games and they have these neat little dropdown bars for minor patches, I tried making that but couldn't figure out how. I'll look more into it tomorrow. We'll just have to bear with it for a little bit as things are figured out
Pretty much agree with everything said above. It might also be a good addition to put a column with the character used, similar to how some games add columns for console used, F3 use in the case of minecraft, etc.
I can add a variable for character played, I also just figured out how to add subcategories, so hopefully it'll look tidier around here soon :D
