According to data, there are an estimated 3.24 billion gamers across the globe, as of 2021. Yet, in the Speedrun community, we've got 1M+ monthly active users

In summary: Doesn't seem enough, comparable with the number of gamers. Would like to see our number rise, in our awesome community

Not all gamers want to speedrun, not all gamers are interested in speedruns, not all gamers even heard about speedrunning.

Speedrunning is still a niche thing, and will likely remain so. Marathons have done a lot to widen it's popularity over the last decade, though, I cannot deny.

Besides, think of the quality of gamers rather than the quantity of gamers. With legends like @moversdubai, do we really need more gamers in the scene?

Flashback to when I first found speedrun.com and was shocked to discover that not every game had an active speedrunning community. Sad.

I was actually surprised to see that every major PC game I have ever played, have a leaderboard here.
