Before I try it out and get used to it, is it ok to use macros to get the doors open perfectly? I know macros aren’t allowed on the original versions, but it’s not listed on the ds rules.

Macro's are not allowed. Same for Turbo.

The only real reason these are listed in the rules for other games is because there were instances in the past of people using them in runs. It's the same case for the vast majority of games on speedrun.com, though. Turbo/Macro are treated as TAS tools, and are therefore classed as cheating in RTA runs.

Some games do allow Turbo, mostly some JRPGs. Macro's are an entirely different story though and these are pretty much banned entirely the board.
