Help capturing PS1/2 games with IO GV-USB2

Hey gang, Im brand new to capturing and very PC illiterate haha. I can figure out how to get the USB2 working once Im hooked up to it, as there are instructions for that much. What I need to know is how to hook up to it, like apparently I need a splitter and cables but Idk which ones, this may seem like Day One stuff, but as Ive said Im brand new to this. Suggetions please?

(To be specific, I need to record Resident Evil 2 for PS1 played on a PS2. I have an HDtv, but theres no lag when I play. Its just as good as a normal tube TV).

Don't know much about capture (yet), but generally if you are streaming a PS2, you need 3 PS2 cables (or 2 PS2 cables and some sort of PS2 to what input you capture card has).

One cord goes from PS2 to a splitter. Another goes from splitter to TV. The third cable goes from splitter to capture card.

EDIT: When I say PS2 cables, it looks you need 1 PS2 cable, 1 RCA splitter, like an RCA pass through (female to male piece), and then an RCA to whatever your input you capture card has.

So would this work: PS2 goes into the input of a powered splitter, then one cable goes from the splitter to capture card, and another cable from splitter to tv? (Those cables being double male-ended or whatever its called)

Yeah, that's the general premise behind all capture cards. Just need to identify some sort of RCA split, the find the two cables you need. One be like RCA to RCA (most likely) for TV, and the other RCA to USB or HDMI, or whatever the capture card takes (if it takes RCA even better). Just got to make sure all your cables and inputs match correctly, but anything that is RCA to anything is going to pretty cheap, as well just general RCA cables.

Also, Timm shared this elsewhere; might be a help: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Op8aK2RecKhjRJB7juOvwUjkXwBbL1eipxUpixBS2c4/edit

RCA is the Yellow/Red/White cable right? That's what my capcard takes, it has RCA input (female). So I need a splitter, and 2 RCA double male ended cables, gotcha.

FINALLY!!! Lol I've been trying to get this simple answer for weeks now haha. Hopefully this is correct or I'm back to Square 1! :/

RCA = Red/Yellow/White.

Just make sure you know if your splitter needs the female or male inputs, so that your cables all line match up correctly and you don't end with extra ones you won't need.

The splitter I'm looking at is all female slots, so I think I just need to buy the splitter and two 6-male RCA cables. PS2 goes into splitter, and then one RCA to tv, the other to the capcard. Now, hopefully I can finally start submitting runs soon. I hope this set-up doesnt have frame dip or sync issues.
