I'm adding one new rule that applies to every category, including IL's, that should arguably be enforced on every game: World Records require video.
Now, I know what you're thinking: "I can't afford a 3DS Capture!" The thing is, you don't need one. Just use a camera. As long as I can see the top screen, it's fine. If you don't want to use a camera, fine. Just don't submit.
So I will be going through the whole leaderboard and rejecting/deleting every World Record that doesn't have video. If you're run gets deleted, that's why.
Adding more strict video requirements: In Any%, times below 27:30 now require video. In Warpless, times below 49:30 require video. In all other categories, top 3 runs require video.
Any pre-existing runs that would violate this rule will not be affected, but all future runs submitted will be.
Adding more strict video requirements (again):
In Any%, times below 28:00 require video. In Warpless, times below 50:00 require video. In No Secret Exits, times below 1:01:00 require video. In 100%, times below 3:20:00 require video. In all other full-game categories, top 5 runs require video. In individual level and individual world runs, all runs require video.
Any pre-existing runs that would violate this rule will not be affected, but all future runs submitted will be.
Slight rule change for 100%:
You don't need to end the game with max lives, however you need to get them at some point during the run as it is a part of 100% completion. It would be helpful to mention in your run description when exactly you reached max lives as us mods also have lives and we usually don't watch entire 100% runs.
This rule change means that you don't have to go back to grind lives a second time if you died in your run. If any pre-existing runs have done this, their timing will be changed.
It seems people don't get it if it's not posted here. All Any% runs require video. This change was made in May and runs done before the change are not affected. Please read the rules before submitting runs to any game, thanks!
Due to slight load time differences between consoles, full-game Any% runs under 26:05 will now be retimed manually without loads. Due to this change, other categories also have LRT enabled as the default option. To change this to RTA would require manually editing every single existing run which we will not do at this time. Please submit your runs in every category besides Any% as LRT, including individual level runs. All Any% runs are still submitted as RTA.
Side note: The category extensions boards are separate and not affected by this change.
I'm sure many have heard the news that Twitch is cracking down on users that have more than 100 hours of uploaded content on Twitch. This affects plenty of speedrunners who might have used Twitch for submissions or simply to store runs. If this change actually comes into effect (April 19th is judgme
