Audio cuts in runs?

I've got a run recorded, however, i'm planning on cutting some short parts of audio that contain sensitive information (names of people, places etc). Will this de-legitimize the run? It would only be a second or two at most, 3-4 times in the 2h40 run. Will this affect the run getting approved?

Depends on the game, although I wouldn’t think that a few audio cuts that short in such a long run would cause it to be rejected. You could ask a mod if the audio cuts are fine or just submit the run and wait for the verdict.

You should never cut audio from a run. Missing audio is a huge red flag of splicing since it’s much easier to hack together individual segments when there’s no audio to also match up. I’m not saying that’s what you’re trying to do, but it can definitely raise questions about a run.

Why personal information was revealed in your run I don’t know, I would always advise that you never reveal anything personal in a recording. If you’re having something like a discord chat for some reason while recording, instead of cutting audio, look into just sending the audio to a stream/your headphones instead of the recording, so that way you can have a clean recording without any extra audio layered over it.

I would be careful with editing audio, as tim said, it can falsify runs because of splicing, next time, try to record in a place without other people or, just don't use your mic
