Go to the marathon's forum page. There will either be a submission thread, a link to an external document, or the event will use SRcom's integrated run submissions feature.

Is there a particular marathon you're looking at?

Huh?????????????????????????? You asked how to submit to a marathon, I asked if there's a particular marathon you're trying to submit to. Pretty simple stuff????

By "marathon", emeraldaly means something like SGDQ/AGDQ/ESA/etc. The game would be...well it would be the game that you are submitting to the marathon.

For example:

 • A runner I watch named Drakodan submits his game (Undertale) to the marathon (SGDQ).

Emerald wants to know if there was a specific marathon that you were thinking of submitting to or learning more about, I assume to direct you to the proper web address.
And correct me if I'm wrong, if one wants to submit to a marathon, one should go to "Forums" and to some of the threads in the "marathons" section, right?
Not exactly. Usually there is a submission page that you can go to to if you want to submit. ESA 2017 had this thread (but don't submit because it's over) for their event. While it was on the forums, submissions were handled via a Google Doc, instead of saying "I will run this game" in the forums.

There are loads run by different people, both run entirely online (with the streamer streaming elsewhere and the marathon page restreaming it) and in person (like ESA, GDQ, etc).

there is a marathon forum section directly beneath the 5 main forums. Check some of them out!

Yep, most marathons do it like that.
