Hey speedrun.com moderators, I was thinking maybe if we could get a setting to turn the old site layout instead of the new one. I think the new one is helpful but it is also very clunked together. If there was a way to toggle between the to it would help out a lot! P.S. it would help a lot if you would reply, but thanks!
I agree that maintaining two different layouts is a lot of work that normally wouldn't be worth the extra effort. When you take into account that the new layout is seemingly still a work in progress however, the argument to keep alive the previous layout while they sort out the kinks for the new one doesn't seem too far out there.
I also agree with @Liv that you absolutely cannot please everybody, but in this case it seems that absolutely everybody is displeased with this new layout anyway.
@Garsh you are correct that from a technical standpoint, having both themes is relatively simple. The problem occurs however the moment they start adding new buttons and tabs and whatever and now they need to maintain 2 different layouts as opposed to one.
Please just open source the site already, even if it means exposing just how much data you're stealing from us Kappa
I can program but I have not learned any webdevelopement at all (should do it eventually tbh)

@AnInternetTroll you up for this? 5head
My android app browser for speedrun.com which is open source, might be the closest to an "open source" version of the site https://github.com/dl00/speedrun-browser-android/
it also has code to, as gently as possible, scrape the site and get all runs, users, and leaderboards, and charts, and expose a near API copy https://github.com/dl00/speedrun-browser-middleware/
Honestly, and this is not to defend Elo and I also dislike the new changes on this, but, a site ran by a corpo will more than often mean you won't see random forum replies from staff members unless they are absolutely sure that's the way to go. That doesn't mean Elo doesn't read replies. I'm actually confident they do. Besides that, because an x amount of people complain in the forum about that they dislike changes will also mean there has to be internal evaluations/talk about that of course. That takes some time. It's only been just, what a week or so? I'd say give it a little bit of time at least. We are so used to a site ran by one man basically, and Pac was pretty quick to react but you have to understand that a site ran by a corpo is a whole different situation. There's no longer "I run this so I can immediately decide if I have to roll this back if people dislike it".
