I recently submitted a speedrun to this page, & while I was attempting it, I figured out a possible second-saving trick that I'm not sure if anyone else knows or not: Rewind-boosting The way it works is that once you're getting near to a checkpoint in a level, you purposely bring yourself down to 1 HP. Then make sure you hit the checkpoint as close as possible to the moment it enters the screen. Right after that, take a hit and die. If you did it quick enough, you theoretically should have saved a second or so, as the game will actually spawn you a few seconds farther into the level. Not to mention you get all your health back and all the projectiles will likely have disappeared ofc. You may have seen this unintentionally happen to Youtubers playing the game (when they die right after hitting a checkpoint) or even yourself IDK if it counts as a glitch or if it should have it's own category or not, since I don't think it'll save crazy amounts of time or anything. If it isn't considered a glitch, then that might make for notable time-saves Of course, it has its limits. it's very risky to do & could easily lead to either a few seconds actually lost rather than saved. Not to mention that you only have 4 lives before having to completely restart the level, and that it obviously can't work on bossfights
I don't think this is technically a glitch, as nothing game breaking happens and the mechanic of respawning at a set place is intended by the devs.
