Hi Ristar community,
I've been working on a no damage playthrough on Super mode, and plan to eventually release a video when I finally achieve a run with no deaths. At the time of this post my best so far is 9 deaths, 44:52.
The version I'm using is the steam version on my Asus gaming laptop, which has a footage capture mode. However, the video quality is not that great, as its framerate is less than that which Ristar runs (about 20 FPS compared to 60) For verification purposes, is there anything I should include in my run besides showing myself entering the Super password at the beginning? Or maybe a better way to capture the gameplay footage?
I would greatly appreciate any feedback the community can provide!
Have you tried using OBS? It may take a little bit of time to get set up, but you may find that it works better for you. There are a billion videos on how to get started with it.
Since we have no runs currently on the Super leaderboard, I'd defer to the rules for any% and 100%. Typically, in Ristar runs, you must show a reset before your attempt. Time usually starts when Ristar is first actionable and finishes when he last hits Greedy.
Hey,
In the interim between reaching out and getting a response, I actually signed up for Nintendo Switch Online + expansion pack, so now I'm practicing on that version which runs orders of magnitude better than the Steam version. The capture device I have captures the footage far better! Also I'm now down to 1 death and 35:40!
Hello!
We are not sure but at this point, I can recommend that you show footage from the Sega logo (ie reset of the previous run or logo showcased from first run), and go through the password screen to input SUPER and XXXXXX, to remove any other password. I hope that helps :) and good luck on your no-death run!
