There are a lot of games, that are RNG-based, so why not just include that? It would be just another category... don't do it, if you don't want to...?

I had 3 runs sub 2min within one week. The main issue is, that Inazuma commissions take longer than Liyue/Mondstadt, so it's deciding between speedrunning and achievements.

But there are a lot of varieties to make it sub 2min for wr-pace and even in bad rng, you could find a new technique to improve on good runs.

honestly? I would be okay, if the speedrun is based on the highest WL, that the account has access to, and not only to WL8, so low accounts could try as well, though high gear accounts will always dominate.

I'm migrating my Azhdaha expansion idea here since it might be better/easier to discuss here instead of a new thread.

I'm not sure if this is ever discussed or mentioned anywhere else previously. I felt that Azhdaha's category should be further split down into the possible elemental infusion of the week.

The downside is obvious we can only attempt it every 4 weeks (I think, can't remember if there's only 4 total combinations).

However, wouldn't it be more fair to have WR for different infusions as different infusions means you might have a different team for it? Primarily due to the fact that infused element(s) have additional resistance to dmg dealt for that element (e.g. Hydro infused Azhdaha would have additional Hydro resist and Hydro dps can't be as efficient as other elemental dps)

On the topic of daily commission runs:

In my personal opinion the huge RNG elements of what commission you get as well as the limitation of it being repeatable only 1 time a day per account world is not very interesting or fun to me. Some commissions can take a few seconds to complete while others could take a few minutes and the unlucky time where you get minute-long commissions and are unable to reset on that same day is not very appealing.

Again this is only my thoughts on the matter and am open to others ideas

My thoughts on the daily commission runs is that we would only count individual commissions as IL category (similar to each world boss), as otherwise it's too inconsistent for the runners, and maybe 1 extra category for collecting the commission reward at each region of your choice.

Each run would start the time from when the player takes control of the character after teleporting to the closest possible teleporter. This way we can retry many times or trying out routing ideas for the shortest possible time.

@owlstalker some commissions can appear at different places though. Which would mean that depending on where it is another teleporter would be needed/ the time to get to the commission will vary

On the topic of commissions Absolutely agree with goldenONX. We need to agree on how each IL is decided, like specifying the commission is closest to say a certain teleporter (e.g. from world map view, northwest to Temple of the Wolf) with a provided screenshot. If we allow similar commission with variant locations and distance from closest teleporter (i.e. more general), it would be easier to have a chance to attempt it, but might make the category less consistent. Whichever the case is, my main point is that categorizing different commissions as IL should be the direction of make commission a speedrun category to minimize inconsistencies.

On the topic of Azhdaha, The Pros and Cons will definitely be there, due to the resistances and elemental that Azhdaha will infuse. The point of separating the records is to allow strategizing for different elemental infusion. Another idea after some thoughts is that, the elemental infusion might be better off as a route. In this scenario, we can keep all the records together, and also knowing which elemental infusion each run is using, which might help in understanding or strategizing better time saves.

On the topic of commission runs: This has been something people have talked about since the sr.c page for Genshin came up. Commissions have too wide of a range of events to regulate. Escort missions take up to ~2 minutes alone, and that just ruins a day for someone trying to speedrun it. The inconsistency of the daily commissions makes it impossible to have it as a reasonable and fair category for runners. Despite the many people who have brought this up thinking its a good idea, I can't with good heart create a category for this.

As for potentially creating ILs, although I'm not totally against the idea, I still have a hard time believing that having these individual commissions would be of enjoyment to anyone in the community. Since commissions are randomly generated, players obviously can't choose what they'll run. When I think about speedurnning, I think the goal is to play the same thing just trying to get faster, and better. Runners are unable to practice or get a faster time if they are unable to get the commission again. Also (not a deciding factor), our current IL section is used solely for boss fights. Making commission ILs would mean we move the boss fights to its own main category and have each boss be a sub category. This isn't something I'm opposed to, just something to be kept in mind that some people may disagree with doing.

As a mod team, we are now more open minded as what we think we can regulate as categories. Introducing boss fights as ILs really made us sit down and talk about how we can make a ruleset for some things that are almost impossible to regulate (such as character builds & artifact differences from f2p and p2p players). If any solid ideas come up in support for commission runs, I would be more than willing to test it out.

(better run idea at the end) What I wonder regarding the commissions:

If you say, that doing the run only once a day is an issue and is too random... there is the Elite Enemies run category, which is also only really viable once a day, and with Tsurumi Island and Ley Lines it has its random ponts. Not degrading the category, just emphasizing, that if that exists, there should be no points against commissions. Although I agree, that the elite-run is far more controllable.

Also, if I think about the boss fights, half of them are Eula dominated. So everyone, who can't one-hit the boss, is left behind. Again: not badmouthing, just a general thought.

So, I would agree, that commissions should have a/multiple breakdown-categories, but also a "unlimited, all dailies"-category.

So, the breakdown could be by each commission(-class) (Emergency, Increasing danger, etc), by region, cost of team, picking up items (lol), or something else.

Like a lot of things in Genshin, is also applied to the speedruns: If you don't want to do that, it's fine, but it would be nice to include it for those, who enjoy it, which seem to have at least a few people already.

So far the rules were:

  • preparation time is ok, so you don't have to start after the first login
  • start is after the first teleport
  • switching between dailies is ok, but does not stop the time

up for discussion:

  • run to Katherine, or only the 4 commissions (if it's the full run)
  • exclude time for teleport load screen
  • switching Teams (probably not)
  • food/buffs

And of course time limited buffs/items and similar are forbidden.

Since we are already talking about that... What I would like to include, and maybe be more fun, would be the "weekly Battle Pass points"-category. I though about daily + weekly, but I would like to remove the commission RNG out of it, and the 1200 Resin is also not doable without wasting it... Also I don't know about the spending 500k Mora/buying from the shop, but I leave it open. The idea of the run is to generate enough points for the BP, that one would only need to do the daily BP-tasks to fill the weekly limit.

I've recently been doing the Inazuma palace climb, other locations can be added as well since there's lots of places that can only be climbed to using character abilities and devices. Also opens up for single character/group climbs. With/without devices and so on. Could be a good one and lots of room to add a lot of locations as well.

I recently started doing a speedruns of daily commissions in Mondstadt. I'll do 10/15 runs for every nation to compare them and check where commissions are fastest. My rules: Time starts from the nearest fast travel point on the map to 1st commission and ending is getting rewards from Katheryne. Also, you can claim daily only in nation that you did daily in. Thus, you did daily in eg Liyue, you must claim rewards in Liyues Kartheryne. It would be nice if there was a category for every nation daily commission. My best time in Mondstadt right now is 3 minutes 55 seconds with loading screens. If you want I can upload recording on yt.

Since there are categories for elite mobs farming, I think categories about collecting specific local specalties would be fun. Like collect all ceclilia, dandelion seeds, silk flowers, dendrobiums and so on. You can show the count in the inventory before and after a run to confirm, similar to the elite mob runs.

But this time also add a glitchless option, because not everyone has the means to keep cutting the connection for infinite stamina glitch without 3rd party programs depending on the device. That one kinda made the katheryne to katheryne not competable by everyone. And even for glitch%, I'm really not a fan of allowing glitches you can't do from just within the game.

When I proposed the Elite Enemies category, I made a presentation directly to the moderator at the time. ② When proposing a category, submit a more specific proposal. Subcategories, prohibitions, detailed rules, etc. You should also include a video recording of you playing, why the category is needed, whether you intend to continue playing, and who else is playing. ③ Glitching is allowed in the K2K category because line glitching was not shared before this category was implemented. Therefore, it is only allowed in this category. Other categories are prohibited. Future categories will prohibit glitches as well, and therefore there will be no categorization by the glitch.

That would be the most basic AR5 rush with a 0.6% chance of success afterward (or about 6% if doing a 10pull). I don't think you would like to run that. I don't think anyone would be interested in a pitty%/softpitty% either as that would be far too long of a run.

There's already a speed run category that is well known in China called "-6" which is short for farm 131 elite monster in a run. This is a well known farming route intend for farming elite moster to upper limit with a good amount of Mora as soon as possible. You can view the route here:

It is not suitable for fix a route, but what I mean is the aim for this kind route is for Mora and Artifacts(which can also convert to Mora). So there could be a index for efficiency of Mora per time before farm to the upper limit of Elite monsters.

Also, constellation affects damage so it make sense to limit the total constellations in a team.

PS: Besides Mora, other item farming could be a category. For example, Crystal Core. Here is a speedrun(not done by me) for 100 Crystal Cores:

@KZdavid I did not know it was called "-6." That mean to focus on the enemies that drop 600 mora, right? Elite Enemies Farming is also practiced in Japan. Some players aim for 9999 items, some collect 4-star artifacts, and some focus on mora efficiency. There is already a category of Elite Enemies in src based on the number of defeats. There are four levels (10,16,24,36) of categorization according to constellations. There is also a category for Multiplayer. In the case of mora efficiency, the verification method to check for fraud seems to be difficult. Such as whether it is a 4 star artifact that dropped during that run. If you have any other ideas or any other rules for the commuities that I am unaware of, please let me know in detail.

The 100 Crystal Cores speedrun has been talked about in some circles in Japan, and I watched it last week. I think these are easy to add as a category, but for some reason, I don't think they are added very often because many people just suggest them and leave every time.
