I'm new, there's a digital download on PS3?

I've been practicing and just submitted a run and I noticed there are no PS3 disc runs, is this because I'm misunderstanding how this works? I have the sly collection disc for PS3, so did I do it right by putting PS3 disc? If not, how can I tell whether it's HDD or SDD?

(so many questions but one more, is the PAL/Euro version faster? should I worry about it ever)

The PS3 disc version is the slowest the second fastest is PS2 disc version and downloaded PS3 is the fastest. For ntsc & pal im not sure about

Ntsc/pal only matter for sly 3, but i think the ps3 disc is faster than ps2 disc.

Thanks, everyone! I think I'll probably stick with what I have until it starts prohibiting me from getting a good time easily. Then I'll get the HDD version. Also, any conclusions on Eur vs USA or any other version?

For PS3, PAL (EUR/AUS) and NTSC (USA/JP) doesn't matter. It's basically the same version, just with some added languages for PAL. (this becomes relevant for Sly 3) For PS2 there will be some minor differences in framerate, which will affect run speed, lag etc. The PS2 version is slow so it's not really worth looking into.

Version list, sorted from fastest to slowest is: -PSN version for PS3 -PSN Vita version (Capturing this might be hard so this will never be worth going for) -PS3 remaster/trilogy disc (Slow loads, slow dialogue, slow resets) -PS2 disc -PS4 (PS Now)¤

¤PS4 or PS Now or whatever is being looked into again, I believe? It was initially judged to be super slow due to insane loading times which occurred seemingly at random.

Additionally you could clean/format your PS3 and invest in a faster hard drive and PS3 model, but this is considered the 'last step'. I wouldn't recommend caring about this unless you're motivated to go for a top time.

tl;dr -Region doesn't matter. PAL/NTSC are equal in speed. -PSN version for PS3 is the fastest known version. -Can look into faster PS3 model and hard drives, but it's only considered worth it if you're going for a top time.
