I am having this issue where my aim randomly goes further sometimes than normal. Its almost like mouse acceleration is on and it causes my aim to shoot all over causing a lot of issues when I am doing my run. New to speed running and new to this community in general. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

assuming that you're using the source unpack, make sure to launch portal within the "rinput" folder with the file "Portal +RInput.bat" rather than "Portal.bat" within the source unpack folder.
By default the game has mouse accel, and the injector RInput is included in the source unpack to counteract this.

Yeah I assume that is probably the one I am using as all I did was buy it and download to play. Also I am not sure how to go about doing that launch method. Sorry I am not super knowledgeable about all the file movements and everything haha! Trying to find the rinput folder atm and having trouble finding it.
Okay I have realized that I needed to downlaod the Source Unpack and I did that. I now see the rinput file but I am unsure on what you meant by launch the game in that folder? If I click on the file "Portal +RInput.bat" it just says missing interface. How would I go about doing that?

no kidding, you really are pretty new! x) no worries, im happy to help!
if it says "missing interface", it usually means two things
- you dont have steam launched
- you dont own the game on steam
just try making sure you have steam launched.
and just to clarify if you dont know, the source unpack gives us access to an older version of the game where glitches are easier to perform. Even if you're running glitchless its probably the version of the game you want to be running on.
Starting today, runs that require video proof (top 25) and runs beyond that where video is the only form of proof, now require audio, as recording audio for only the game is now a native OBS feature.
