Runs should appear on the main page by the time they was verified

Umm, maybe try clicking on the notification..

the mods have 3 weeks before they verify a run no point changing the date I like it to be accurate if any one follows the game or cares about the game they will see it ^^ I have had runs not appear on the main front page when logged off but I have never seen this as a problem personally ^_^ I just like the games I run if you want your runs to get more exposer why not post your streams in the streams section on the speedrunning discord?
"I'm pretty sure it's important for everyone that your run appears on the site's main page. Especially if you are "small unknown speedrunner", because more people can check your run and maybe follow your channel, etc."
I personally do not care about my own runs appearing on the main page most of us don't look at it much, It does serve a purpose to allow others possibly non speedrunners that may be interested in particular games to see what people have recently been running. But most will just seek out the actual games they are interested in. I normally submit my runs days some times weeks later when I have the time to do so but I still set the dates according to when I had run/uploaded them originally. If exposure is what you seek the most then I don't think speedrunning is something to get into instead just play games you want to play casually for that exposure and eventually it may pay off, like wise to speedrunning but its not gonna be exposure in the form you may be thinking of.
"But seems like it always takes 1 billion of million years for moderators to move their asses and verify your run. So there is almost no chance to appear on the main page."
I generally check the site several times a week some weeks its almost daily, but not everyone can be attached to a computer to verify runs the moment they are submitted. Having less or more mods on a game does not mean it will be verified quicker it depends on a number of factors with include the rules/guidelines that the community uses and the length of the run on top of having the time outside of the site that are more important or that pay for their ability to live or even verify runs in the first place.
"HOWEVER, when moderators submits their runs they just make them auto-verified. So their runs always appears on the main page. That's so freakin unfair."
I take a strong stance on not self-verifying runs on boards I moderate and many will tell you the same that may or may not be from the same boards I have moderated on. The exception is normally with smaller communities that may have fewer to no other mods to also verify runs. I would still give those people that trust that they follow the same stipulations that anyone in the community would. I can only testify for myself on that matter, If you have outstanding issues with the moderators of the board then make a post on the games forum section and discuss it with them in a reasonable manner, if that does not work within a few weeks or so and you still have pending runs then you can request moderation changes as a last resort. https://www.speedrun.com/The_Site/thread/63nr7
"It's pretty obvious that runs should appear on the main page by the verification time, not by submission time. (like TASvideos site does)"
Sure runs could be filtered on a user level to be by verification time, but allot of us choose to have the front page if at all sort to displaying on games we are interested in anyways so that would not benefit a large amount of people. The only people that would benefit is the the runner whos run appears on the front page and the guest user that may see it but may or may not be interested anyways. Ultimately it is up to the people in charge of the site to decide what functions or filters to have for us all, and for the large majority we are very comfortable with things as they are in how the front page operates most people will find your stream etc, through the specific games they are interested in by following them and seeing when you are streaming it in the appropriate games stream list which playing it.

Hopefully you can reasonably get your current problem resolved but please do be respectful, as it tends to go along way when wanting a positive result in the end.

Okay maybe I am one of the few people who does this but.. I use the main page ALOT to look for new games. I see new records, and click on them. Because I am curious what the game is about.

Furthermore, I pretty much agree what @MASH said.

On small occasion I do as well but most of the time I prioritize the games I'm actively interested in the most, many people do as well. Having the option would not hurt but that is still far from what I think the actual dispute really is based on the body of text. We all like to browse some times, but also there is this twitter bot that tweets each time a new run is submitted so if you follow that you'll always know what kool new runs to check out so I do like viewing the new tweets about runs there the most. https://twitter.com/SpeedrunWRs?lang=en Credits to Gyoo for working on it.

I suggest following the bot if you'd like to keep up to date on recently submitted runs.

There's many improvements that can be made to the main page but there's no huge problem at the moment. Best way to get traffic is to post on reddit and tweet about your pb, this site's primary usage is a tool for runners that helps remove the question of "is this really the wr?"

Honestly the idea is kinda good but the way he said it was bad. It would literally change nothing for the one who do not visit the frontage and it would be a good change for the one who are looking at the front page

Reddit doesnt really help that much with unknown game except if youre lucky, and being good too doesnt matter.

 1. A user should not be able to adjust their submission date earlier than the date on which the form was submitted. Only mods should have this ability. The user can contact the mods to adjust their submission date if they have proof it was done on an earlier date.

 2. Runs should appear on the front page by submission date, not verification date. Verification date is irrelevant. The person held the record at the time they submitted it, not when some stranger decided to verify it.

basically every other run has to be asked to be changed then. if that's what you want sure. I have plenty people that don't submit the day they did the run, for one reason or another, or completely new users that have been only uploading to their youtube until now. All these people would have to ask first or enter a completely false date until the mod changes it.

That's completely ignoring the whole issue. what you're saying is that most game's runs aren't even fit for frontpage because their moderators don't verify runs as they appear. that's the whole point of this thread, that many runs can't appear on front-page because of how it's set up. the main fix for this would be to sort by verification date, BUT limit how old the runs can be. for example give a 3 day grace-period before runs are no longer eligible. that way you get fresh runs on the front-page but don't lose out on all the runs that can't show up atm.

Why don't people ever think before suggesting something?

There isn't even a run submitted for Air and it has 7 mods because they automatically got assigned to romhacks back then. It's pretty weird you single that one out.

The subject of the title taken at face value has kinda bothered me. I ignore the front page because I don't see when the runs were done without clicking on each one. That list of runs means nothing to me outside of my followed games. I would pay attention to it more if the date of the run was shown and the list was sorted by verification date. Can you imagine TASVideos sorting their publications by submission date? It wouldn't make sense there, but somehow it makes sense to do that here...?

This is a part of the "Instant Gratification" problem, pretty much entirely. Most of us do this for different reasons than just stroking our egos, and the moderators largely do a very good job. But they are human beings, and unless you are running a hotly contested game (Current Example would be Ninja Gaiden), you simply can't expect the mods to leap on it. Verifying a run is a bit more in-depth than simply watching a video and liking it.

If you don't want to post runs here, that is your decision. But if you think the "I'm taking my ball and going home" hissy fit strategy is going to net you any weight, you're in for a surprise. For the record, that doesn't fly in the real world, and I sincerely doubt it'll fly here.
