Separating Wii U and Nintendo Switch versions.

I just looked at some gameplay of the Wii U version of this game, and it does look like an entirely different game than the Nintendo Switch version. The game uses different graphics engines and I can swear they have fundamentally different engines for physics and such, with the Wii U version being far closer to the PC version.

HUGE differences includes some extra course obstacles on the Wii U version that are not there in the switch version.

This never crossed my mind before as I never looked at runs of the Wii U games before as they are far slower than the Switch version, but due to this I feel like there would be value to making these separate categories or maybe even games all together due to how large the differences are.

Hi Firesplitter,

Considering as well that the Switch version is notably faster than Wii U (in addition to some minor gameplay changes) this is a good point. I will be down to do so come the end of this year to see if anyone has any other thoughts on the subject. Additionally, I'll bring this up to the other mods too.

I tried contacting madsen via Discord a week ago to add the Switch version as a new game in the series, but he did not accept my friend request. I'm going to try messaging him through speedrun.com to see if he will add it.

@Pokehero I'm going to ask him to add you as the moderator since I don't have any interest in moderating that game if that's okay with you.

Sorry. I haven't started up Discord since forever. I should probably remove it from my profile here.

I messed up and added "Hello Kitty Kruisers" (without the "(Switch)" in the title). 🤦‍♂️ I even added @Pokehero as a super mod before I realized my mistake. And apparently game titles can't be changed, nor can games be deleted... So yeah, maybe someone can get an admin to change the title? Or I can just add it one more time — this time with the correct title.

However, before I go and do that, wouldn't it make more sense to keep all leaderboards under one title? I don't actually know if you can limit a category to a single console (maybe with the help of variables?), but I think it'd be worth checking out before adding it as a separate game.

Anyway, I'm just thinking out loud. Let me know what you need/want me to do. :)

Thanks madsen. Pretty weird you're not allowed to edit game titles anymore, I could've sworn it never used to be that way... I suppose perhaps people were requesting games to be added, then when they were added changing the title to something totally different game that SRC site mods might not have approved. Not to worry, it's not irreparable.
