Poll: Move Which Categories to Misc.?

@MyOhMyke

SQ has a faster WR, so I have no idea what you're looking at. Also, I just PB'd today, if you're looking for activity. Continuing on that argument, activity for SQ is more recent and frequent than Any%, so using that as an argument doesn't hold ground.

Poitou-Charentes, France

Any% - Main No S&Q - Main 100% - Main

AI - Misc Legacy - Misc S&Q - Misc (since its basically the same thing as no S&Q minus a handful of detours)

Sweden

Main:

  • No SQWWOoB
  • Any%
  • 100%
  • NoWW/OoB

Misc:

  • AI
  • Legacy
Bretagne, France

Main :

  • Any% No SqWwOob
  • Any% No WwOob
  • 100%
  • Any%

Misc :

  • Legacy
  • AI
  • Any% ACE
Rhône-Alpes, France

Main categories:

  • No SQWWOOB
  • No WW/OOB
  • 100%
  • Any% no ACE

Misc:

  • Legacy
  • All Instruments
  • Any% with Ace
Germany

Main:

  • No Sqwwoob
  • Any% (no ACE)
  • Hundo%
  • No WW/OoB (still better than no S&Q :P)

Misc:

  • Legacy
  • All Instruments
  • Any% ACE
Québec

everything -> misc except AI FrankerZ

Bretagne, France

So I'm making a poll-type post:

main page: -any% -hundo -MC -SQ

misc: -AI -Legacy

I'm not sure saying 'SQ has almost the same route as MC' is a good argument. We could just say 'MC is slower and has only 2 PoPs'. But it's an endless debate. The best thing in my opinion would be for these categories to have much different names, but this is not the purpose of the thread.

Bavaria, Germany

No S&Q / Any% / 100% Keep. The classics. You could also make a point for "S&Q" here. But I am voting for those.

S&Q/Legacy/Instruments Move to misc.

England

Move to miscellaneous: -All Instruments -Legacy

Keep as Main: -Any% (No SQ/WW/OoB) -Any% -100% -Any% (No WW/OoB)

Ontario, Canada

Mains - No S+Q, 100%, S+Q, Any% Misc - Everything Else

Keeping S+Q to me is kind of redundant but it does have a lot of times on the leaderboard and people still do run it. It may not be as popular as it once was, but it really doesnt hurt anything to keep it out of the misc. categories.

Hamburg, Germany

Reading through the comments here made me agree to keeping s+q on the front page, since there are alot of people running s+q.

keep s+q, no s+q, 100% and any%

rest misc

gonna make a comment on my previous post

Virginia, USA

Any% No SQWWOOB: Main category 1. Any%: Category 2 100%: Category 3 Any% No WWOOB: Category 4 AI: Category 5

MISC: Legacy, Any% ACE, RBO, STG%, Date%, All Companions, etc.....

EXPLAINS: -AI is a very nice category to showcase some of the glitch work the game offers. It is kinda our version of an "All Dungeons" just instead of saying dungeons we say the instrument is what notifies the completion of a "dungeon". I know I am in the minority here and am ok seeing it going to misc (i dont even have a run on it). Just wanted to speak my peace ;)

-SQ stays on front page as an olive branch to the JP community. I know we have tried in the past to hookup leaderboards with them. They are chill and some of them have found cool shit we play around with. If they (and us) ever wanted to merge, SQ being on front page is needed.

Arizona, USA

Main: No S+Q, 100%, Any% Misc: everything else

I mostly want to comment on including no s+q on main and moving s+q to misc. When I first wanted to learn the game, coming to the leaderboard and seeing both of those categories confused me a bit since they are almost the same exact thing from the perspective of someone who didn't know the game. I ended up picking no s+q simply because I was more interested in POP, which turned out to be the right choice with how active it is. Considering S+Q doesn't see as much activity as No S+Q, I would really push to move it to misc so newcomers can clearly see what are the active/competitive categories.

California, USA

Main: No S+Q, S+Q, 100%, Any% Misc: AI, RBO, Hombre%, Legacy, All Inventory

I have a long list of categories I'd like to see in Misc to be honest; I think that inclusion and subsequent addition to this section should be fairly liberal. As for the Main group, I'm pretty serious about keeping that section concise (i.e. obvious things such as hundo and any%, as well as categories considered the "main" ones by any runner).

I would also like to state that even though the idea of keeping S&Q as an olive branch to the JP community makes sense on paper, it doesn't really work out that way in actuality. All of our S&Q times would be invalid to their leaderboards (and vice versa) due the rules in the different communities. (EG: We do Final Boss text skip, they disallow it; They allow autofire, we disallow it).

In addition, with the exception of Pui, I think (not sure) that no JP runners have actually submitted times to either ZSR or SRC leaderboards for S&Q. Their times were merged from their leaderboards to ours. Food for thought.

Also, we are not voting on the statuses of other categories yet. Any additional categories that we may add will be discussed in the coming weeks, seperately.

^Commenting on this, Orima recently submitted a run here. He was grinding the game with autofire; however, he stopped using autofire, so that he could submit his time here. The LADX JPN community is tiny and practically non-existent, but they know that there is a leaderboard here and respect the rules here.

Also, text skip is allowed, so our runs would be valid on their leaderboards.

Last I heard, they were (basically) banning all 1.0 exclusive glitches. I don't read japenese, so I don't know. I was relying on a community member's translation.
