I recently did a run but at the final chamber i got all the cores and put them in the incinerator but for some reason the game didn't end. I don't know if it didn't register or maybe one of the cores glitched out of the map. Here is the demo: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1F6GO8Wp4rMKomKOYaUoTHWI5BFOrGVbC/view?usp=sharing
if it is a glitch, would I still be able to submit it?
when i try to load the demo i get an error saying:
playdemo <demoname> : plays a demo file Unknown command: demopauseafterinit
idk why..
did you put the demoname in " playdemo "demoname" that's what works for me, and you have to give it a directory it may be easier to use demoui then you can directly choose it from your files.
this popped up: ] playdemo glitchspeedrunreview CDemoFile::Open: couldn't open file glitchspeedrunreview.dem for reading. Dropped bobanchoban77 from server (Server shutting down)
do you have the demo file in the right folder
I can't seem to run the demo from the demo UI.
Playing the demo by manually typing "playdemo" works for me, but the game crashes as soon as a portal has been fired (which is almost immediately).
@Sagittarius i have the demo in C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Portal/portal
Is there Something wrong with the demo? I can try to look at it in the morning, that would be in 15 or so hours for me.
The demo works fine on my system using source unpack with either playdemo or demoui. Using the latest steam release, the demo fails with either, with unhelpful console errors. No clue on the core disappearing, though.
After some more looking around in the demo viewer, it seems that the first core you grabbed, the orange curiosity core, never fell into the portal you shot at it. This is visible if you press "drive" while paused in the demo viewer and look from above. If you look from below, as you did after incinerating the rest, the cores don't render, making it seem like they all were incinerated.
It was recently discovered that it is possible to set your mouse sensitivity to a value so high that the game considers it infinite, leading to several new glitchy techniques being discovered.
The rules have now been amended to ban these new techniques in both Inbounds No SLA Legacy and Glitchless.
