Hi, I'm just wondering for the 2nd Quest categories if savestates are allowed once you beat a quest.

Can you explain a little further what you mean?

I've wondered about this before as well actually. Maybe from the screen after beating for quest (where it tells you to press B ) so that you don't have to beat the game each time you want to play.

Say if I beat 8-4, once I'm done, am I allowed to make a savestate so if I fail a run I can just load up that savestate from the end of 8-4?

i think this is ok if you save before starting the 2nd quest

@Mars02 Just use software reset instead of hardware reset.

Yeah, if you do "soft reset" you will still play Quest 2.

But to do the soft reset you must be playing on the Super Mario Bros. ROM or the Super Mario Bros. + Duck Hunt + World Class Track Meet. I believe the soft reset to 2nd quest does not work on the Super Mario Bros. + Duck Hunt version.

I think that doesn't work on SMB1 + DH + WCTM either.

I use a ROM that only has SMB1 on it.

@darG if you watch Taven’s 5:15 second quest he resets his NES before the run. He uses the one with WCTM

I don't know then, maybe emulators behave differently.

It works on emu.

I thought it was weird but 2nd quest doesn't work for smb1 + dukk hunt
