Game Genie not working?

So I bought a game genie for nes to try out AISSON on real hardware, but when I put it in it just shows a gray screen and the light starts blinking. Is there a way to fix this? Would this be a hardware problem or a game genie problem please help thanks

Make sure the pins on the Game Genie and your cartridge are clean. Also make sure you're pushing the Game Genie and the cartridge as far in as possible.

  1. Make sure the pin connector on your NES is in good condition. The pins are bent you have 2 options replace the pin connector or bend the pins manually back into position. You can find tutorials for this on YouTube and the connectors are fairly cheap
  2. If the connector pins are straight you should clean them. I suggest using 99% isopropyl alcohol And q-tips. Soak the q-tip in the alcohol and gently rub the all the pins on the connector. If the pin connector still isn’t working you can alternatively use brasso instead of IPA
  3. The most important thing to do is to clean the game genie itself, using the supplies you would when cleaning the pin connector. Make sure to clean both sets of pins on the game genie. I hope some of these suggestions help you with your game genie. If none of these have worked, it’s probably failure in the game genie.

Doesn't work, so my game genie must be busted or something. Does the powerpak have game genie built in, and if it does is it allowed for AISSON?

My game genie took forever to start working properly, and honestly, I don't even remember what I did

I probably blew on the pins or something (which you shouldn't do btw)
