I made a challenge (50 Ways To Die) based off of a challenge people did in Mario Maker 1. Basically, you play endless expert trying to die in 50 unique ways. Clearing levels is pointless, it's all about the deaths.

I made a website you can use to track what you've died to and have gotten a few people to try it, word on the street is that it's fun.

Rules and stuff that I've come up with:

Goal: Die in 50 different ways playing levels from Endless Expert difficulty. There are more than 50 ways listed (because some are very rare), when you reach 50 you win!

Rules:

  • You can only die to 1 thing at a time. If you're not sure what killed you, don't count anything. If it fills multiple categories, pick 1
  • For ways that don't kill mario (softlock, losing clear con, killing yoshi), you must die/restart level to count it. 50 Marios must die!
  • Skipping levels is allowed.
  • Getting a Game Over is allowed, just start a new one in game
  • Projectiles (wrenches, hammers, spikeballs, koopas, etc) count as the enemy who threw it if they hit you midair. If the item is still alive after landing then it counts as that enemy AFTER it lands
  • If you die to something not directly listed, there should be something it obviously counts as
  • Goomba: All goomba/galoomba/goombuds are the same thing, unless they have a boot
  • Booted Goomba: All boot types are the same thing
  • Koopa: All color/size koopas are the same thing...

  • Keydeath: Any death with a key, not just red coins after a CP
  • Kaizo block: Any scenario where you died & if there wasn't a kaizo block, you would have survived
  • Yolo: blind jump off a ledge with the possibility that there will be somewhere to land. (Not just jumping in a pit). Shouting yolo is recommended but not required
  • Softlock: reasonable attempt to verify there is no hidden block / p switch / boo etc to kill you
  • Squish
  • Pit: (just jump in a pit)
  • Door: Door or Pipe that leads to death / softlock with no way to advance in the level. i. e. pick a pipe wrong
  • Lava
  • Poison

Pretty cool idea in my opinion
