Hi everyone, piltzy here again i just wanted to see if ive found a possoble faster route then the world pb. My best time so far using this route is 49.24. The difference between the wr and my run is that as soon as you enter the libary you sove the shelf puzzle but leave the plug until you return with the cog.
You deposit the knife once you get the plug from the statue (red gems) in the save room cloest to the crashed helicoptor (closest chest on route) the rest is as normal making sure you discarde the Club key. This way you save crucial time inserting all 4 plugs after the g mutation.
You save a solid 5 seconds by not running across the bridge where you fight g mutation on the first visit before you trigger playing as ada

The route your talking about is the 4 plug route which is the oldest one and the one we used before 2+2 so it isn't anything new. I've counted the frames myself for the 2 routes and my estimate is that the 4plug route is only 0.9sec faster.
Those 5 seconds you were talking about, let me guess you got them for running back and forth in gembryo room right?
Something like that. Too me it just feels alot more quicker and fluid. Also dont forget the door leaving the g room you can skip the wait on it complety because of the scriped ada scene. Also the way the libary is set up it makes more scence to pick it up later and to only solve the puzzle when you first enter imo
Sadly i wasn't recording the run at the time i do have a screen shot but no video. My first speed run was over an hour, second was 59.58 3rd was 56.32 then i got 49.56 and my pb is 49.24. Only have screen shots. When i have more time ill do another run record it and submit it ☺
Just be sure of the rules for submitting a run, I'd hate rejecting a sub 49:30 run that doesn't meet the criteria.
If you use the 4 plug route then you save 5 seconds from the G room, then you loose 3 seconds for dropping the knife in the item box + u need to discard the key of clubs which might even cost more then 2 seconds (using it on door in basement + the extra textbox for discarding it).
When I counted the frames for it I did many attempts to get the perfect execution in every room that matters for the route change, and 0,9 seconds time save was the best I could get with 4 plug route compared with 2+2 route.
so pretty much it's just 4 plug route with the only difference being picking up the plug later?
It's 1-2 seconds slower to do the puzzle later + take the plug, personally i don't see a time save with early puzzle late plug pickup
