Low fps due to low GPU usage

Hi, I got a gtx 1060 and I got maximum 240 fps (no matters if I lower the resolution or anything), while my GPU is only using 20% of it's potential. Does anyone has the same problem? I would like to get ~100 more fps, I'm sure it would help me to get into paints jumps, some of them are really hard to complete! http://prntscr.com/cn4yiz

Did the card maybe reach its Power limit or Temp limit? What cpu do you have?

France

Hey thanks for the reply! It would be strange that it reaches power limit using only 20% of it potential, wouldn't it. As you can see on the picture, the temp is 60°, I usually reach around 75° with other games. CPU: Intel Core I7 6700HQ Skylake 2.60Ghz. The game doens't even use 10% of the CPU...

In case it would help: Windows 10 8gb RAM GPU : Intel HD 530 GPU2: GTX 1060

Btw I got 240 fps on the pic, but that's because I'm looking to the ground. The game is usually running between 170 and 200 fps, lowest settings (except resolution)

By power limit I meant the electricity power limit not the computing "power" limit, but you actually right with saying that too. The CPU shouldn't be the issue, temp limit can't be it if you're getting higher temps on other workloads. I'm guessing your on mobile/laptop. If you get MSI's program Afterburner, you can check what the power limit is and how close to it you are getting. If it's not that, I actually don't know at all. It might be a weird quirk of the engine.

Just checked with MSI afterburner, nothing is limited. Not sure that the problem could come from power. Just noticed that if I set the game to 800x600 resolution, it gains around 30-40 fps, but I can't play with a 800x600 resolution x) Again, all cores of the GPU aren't going above 10%.

EDIT: overclocking GPU doesn't increase FPS.

Are you sure you're running it with the GPU and not the iGPU ? Look at nvidia's control panel --> 3D parameters,

France

What do you mean by "iGPU"? Plus, there are kind of 4 executables for talos principle, depending of 64bits or not, safe mode or not... Plus, Nvidia controll panel can't change the settings of the game

France

iGPU means Integrated GPU sometimes my laptop used to run games with that instead of the dedicated GPU I had. This can be changed in nvidia control's panel.

France

Okey, looks like the game is running with integrated GPU... Don't know how to disable it
