List of Glitches and Exploits I have found so far. 

# **General Exploits**

- Enemies cannot open doors except as part of their walk cycle, if an enemy sees you and you close a door in their face they will immediately lose you.
- If you are in any *entering* animation you are invisible to any enemies. It doesn't matter if you are in their cone of sight. 

# **Massive exploits**

## **Bagging** 

Named in honour of the lady's bag in the cinema level which allowed me to first find this exploit. Put simply, the game only checks for whether you can interact with objects based on whether you can do so *in the very moment you click on them.* I.e. if there's a room with an item inside, the game just checks whether the door to said room is open and grants access based on that.

The catch: doors opened by enemies/patrols count as "open" for the purpose of that check. So if you were to click on an item that is inside a locked room right in the moment where a guard is opening the door to it as part of their walk cycle, the game will carry out the action of you interacting with that object - doesn't matter the distance or whether the door is closed or locked.

This works for every single interactable in the game - regular items, safes, trunks. Now once you do that, two things will happen:

- If you are close enough to the object, you will summarily phase through the door even if it is closed and interact with the object. In some doors (I don't know why it is only some) you can do this with a simple walk command and don't need an item.
- If you are too far, the door will close, your character will stop dead in his tracks and then ... grab the object/interact with it out of thin air. For safes this means he will start drilling mid-air, for trunks this means he will teleport into them. 
- Only catch: depending on the angle (still figuring out how this works) your character will walk a considerable distance towards the object before interacting with it. In the warehouse level you can teleport from your car into the trunk (both directions work) in the back, in the cinema level if you do this your character will run up to the very wall it is located in.

**WARNING**

There is a major glitch with using this exploit: if your character walks into a door frame as part of getting closer to the target, and then performs the picking up / interact action, the game will glitch out and your character will be rendered completely immobile and unable to interact with anything till your restart the level.

For that reason it is best to walk back some distance away from any door frame, or position yourself in a way you won't be running into one before performing this exploit.

## **Cheesing**

Named in honour of the Cheese Shop where you steal the Camembert. This glitch swaps the animation of you opening a door with any other interactable you click on. This makes you able to skip the walk to the car in every single level but the last one, and allows you to trigger security in a multitude of levels, resulting in massive time gains.

It works by you clicking on a closed door (get some distance so you execute it properly) of a room with otherwise no open exit, and then shortly before your character opens the door, you have to be clicking on another interactable. This will bring up an interaction with that object whilst your character will still open the door, meaning that you will have to reset the door should you fail the glitch.

Unfortunately this glitch *is one of the most inconsistent glitches I have ever encountered in a video game*: 

-  I've only been able to set it off consistently using an auto-clicker set to >10 ms.
-  The angle, distance from where you need to start doing the glitch, and even the timing when you start clicking on the other object *vary for every single door in the game.* 
- Some doors are very "generous" with this, where the angle doesn't matter at all, some require you to only start the auto-clicker right as you are about to interact with it. Still others (door used for this by me in the pub level) require you to have started the walk animation a considerable distance away. Some doors (garden door of the loft level building f.e.) straight don't work at all with for this glitch.

In short, its a bizzarre mish-mash of where and how you can pull it off, and my current routing is based on a lot, some times dozens, of atttempts of try and error.

## **Experimental: "no-scope grabbing"**

A glitch I've been trying to understand for months, and for the longest time I had it only appear as white noise in some of runs. If you have your back to an object in, likely, the exact precise angle, and then click to interact with that object, in very rare cases it is possible to bring up an immediate interaction with that object. 

I have unfortunately only been able to manually recreate this glitch about 1 in 20 attempts or so in the first level of the game. I am currently investigating ways to make it consistent, but this will likely take a very long time.

# **"Negative" Glitches to be aware of**

- In the club level, the security guard who comes to check in on the safe once you trigger it's alarm has a random chance of not entering his second idle "lookaround" after initially checking on the safe for a couple seconds (the one where he stands in front of the room looking in for a couple seconds). Instead he will resume his normal patrol walk cycle immediately, meaning that should you be trying to break open the door of the antique gun room, he will immediately see and knock you out.
