List of known Glitches, Oversights, and Tricks (Work in Progress)
Updated 6 years ago by Pokehero

General Notes

Glitch that applies in many places throughout the game: Text Walking In some cutscenes, Pom possesses the ability to walk in between text boxes. This appears to be an RPG Maker glitch. When this is possible, it will be noted (All Versions)

Possible oversight: Multiple buttons for the same action. In the readme.txt the game provides, it's only specified that the z key does accept and x does cancel although the Spacebar and the Enter key also both act as accept and the c key also does cancel

During this Guide, Pressing Z or Spacebar or Enter to do an action will be referred to as "Accept" Likewise, pressing X or C to exit out of an interaction will be referred to as "Cancel"

Screen 1 (Cherry Blossom Trees)

Oversights On the 2nd to the bottom row of walkable spaces near the first Cherry Blossom tree, there's a bunch of invisible walls that are seemingly there at random (All Versions)

Screen 2 (Doggy Heaven Town)

Oversights For some reason, there is a mysterious invisible block just south of the rainbow bridge connecting the houses to the roses area (All Versions)

Tricks You can enter Sharpei's house (the blue one) from the right side of his house as long as you face towards the door, thus you can enter the door with 2 less tiles of movement (All Versions)

(With Shibe in your party) If you talk to Dave Pointer for the first time on the screen (if you have already talked to him, reload the area) and bring up the list of save files and save or Escape, Shibe will now be "stuck" on the right side of Dave and you can walk around the left side of town without Shibe following behind you (All Versions)

Puddle and Crest's House (Pink House)

Glitches (After talking to Goldie a second time to begin the quest to receive her plant) You can text walk after Crest begins her thank you speech (you can also Text Walk while Puddle is speaking too) (All Versions)

  • During the Text Walk, you can position yourself in front of the pink oven in the room and examine it with Accept and the dialogue boxes freak out as both the Puddle thank you cutscene and the pink oven text play and there's some interesting graphical glitches that occur (All Versions)
  • You can also talk to Shibe for similar effects (All Versions)

Oversights Upstairs, you can walk into the far wall next to the bunny (All Versions)

If you walk down the stairs, Shibe has a chance of appearing on top of Pom and then will move down one square (All Versions)

You can softlock yourself by getting stuck between the trophy and stairs (Version 1.00 ONLY)

(After talking to Goldie a second time to begin the quest to receive her plant) After killing the spider in the house it's possible to exit the house before Crest begins her thank you speech (All Versions)

  • If you reenter the house, there's a small pause followed by the cutscene carrying on like normal

Sharpei and York's House (Blue House)

This house contains 2 known softlocks lol

Glitches If you put the Famicom on the Rock Pedestal outside the park without giving it back to Goldie and then don't take pictures of Crest, when you talk to Corg to learn about the Corg-keys, the flag doesn't update in the trash pile to spawn the Corg-keys and there is no known way to progress at this point, softlocking the game (All Versions)

  • It seems like the likely offender here is that the game has no built in mechanism for getting rid of Shibe at this point, since if you take pictures of Crest, you fight Puddle and Shibe leaves after that, or if you're on a True End playthrough, Corg will notice and Shibe refuses to fight Dog. For some reason, Corg doesn't have the flag to take away Shibe in this exact scenario
  • This REALLY sucks because if this softlock didn't exist, Happy End would be about 10 seconds faster

Oversights It's hard to tell whether or not this is an Oversight, but in the downstairs area, the area next to the painting, you can walk closer to the far wall. It could be the window hitbox is too far out. Either way, this is a weird oddity (All Versions)

Downstairs, you can walk to the left side of the birdcage and go through the stairs, softlocking you (Versions 1.00/1.01 ONLY)

Screen 3 (Dog Park)

oh god this area is fucked, stay with me

Glitches The SAT Books will appear on the Rock Pedestal after speaking to Chi a lot, unknown if you need to have the SAT Books or not (Version 1.00 ONLY)

After the frisbee machine is fixed, you can walk back into the fenced area anyways (Versions 1.00/1.01/1.02/1.03)

  • Inside you can see another Shibe, Alma, and a bunch of frisbees that move like NPCs, none of which you can Accept

After Shibe leaves you after fixing the frisbee machine to play fetch with Hus, you can Text Walk for one tile, although it's useless (All Versions)

After triggering the 3rd photo spot for Crest, regardless if you take the photo or not, you can Text Walk one space before Pom gets "caught" (All Versions)

  • Text Walking to the right does actually save a tile of movement
  • Also, if you don't take any pictures of Crest, Crest's sprite will spontaneously disappear mid conversation

Oversights The left side of the frisbee machine does not have any frisbee collision, meaning you can walk that line without getting hit (All Versions)

You can "skip" the 3rd photograph of Crest by literally just moving right one tile then up or down after entering the room (the trigger for it is literally one lone square) which can allow you to go back to Starpugs and get another camera from Bernard (this glitch is explained in more detail in Screen 4) (All Versions)

Tricks You do not have to talk to Sherman to set the flag for setting the books on the Rock Pedestal (All Versions)

Once Pom exits the frisbee machine, as long as you mash well, if you hold down, you'll be in the 2nd column of frisbees but won't get hit (this is slightly faster than getting hit by a frisbee) (All Versions)

Notes about this area The 3rd partner movement is only roughly based on where you go, there's a lot of RNG involved. This is likely the case to prevent you from softlocking (still not sure why we can't just go through our partners but whatever)
