How about delete the 100% or Any% since the time can be the same because of the 1 minute free in the last puzzle "door loop" is more than enough so there is really no point to have it, and in the place put the thread (Glitchless Run) since there is a huge difference at times without glitces... What do you guys think?
So about the record... I was praticing the new glitch that you guys have been using to break the WR over and over... And after I finished the game about 4 times I was about to reapeat, then it happens! I started the timer again and a new run, I did the first door glicht (skiped one loop) went to the doorway saw the door closed to the stairs, paused the game, closed the app, opened it again, when it restarts I went to the door to do the glich again, this time I did alot faster (foward and backward at the stick) when I entered the door I was with the Blue Flashlight and the doorway was dark, I WAS AT LAST PUZZLE SOMEHOW! Then I finished the game again looked at my cellphone timer and it was 2:13. Yes even I don't believe what happened.... And I could not stream since I don't have HDMI capture card, and the stream ends when you close the game for the glitch... ???? I'm so sad for this I really wanna prove that I'm not lying
Now I've tried to see if was the fact that the game don't save when you close the app when you skip just one loop and it could had loaded the last puzzle of the game I had finished before, BUT NO the game saves when you start over, so is not the case... I've been trying to repeat what I just did and recorder it with my phone, but no luck yet... At least I got better doing the glitch ????
I don't think we should delete categories, but I second a glitchless%. Could move 100% to Misc. and then have Any% and Glitchless% as the main categories. Thing is the community for this game is tiny :D

I DID IT AGAIN! @_@ This time I recorded with my phone... So let me carefully explain how this look like it works... (I'm still not sure...) BUT I'm sure it involves pausing at the bathroom door OR the door you come in, and restarting the game at the FIRST LOOP (don't worked to me in the second loop), it may require you to COMPLETE the game once, since you guys can check at my last videos on Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/leon_bsb/videos/all
AGAIN this is not the game loading the last save from the past game since you guys can notice it I had all the pieces of photos at the last puzzle from the last run, so after finish the game and start over the game make a new save, because you can see at the speed run record video bellow that I had to get all the pieces of the photo again! If it was the game loading my last save from the final.puzzle, the photo would be complete! Right? So there u go this IS a glitch that I don't know yet How I managed to discover it, but yay! XD now everyone can try it! =3

My question is (and it's hard for me to tell from the video, low quality), does the game actually autosave when you enter the first loop before you exit back to the PS4 dashboard?
I likely won't verify until we can get some separate instances/better proof of the glitch. When I get the chance I'll try it myself.
The game never saves until you enters the door loop at the end of the stairway... But when you pauses the game it "saves", don't know if that is one of the cause of the "restart glitch", but you can see it how is done, besides the brightness of the video, and even compare with the ones from the Twitch.TV, in the end of this stream And all this other one: You can compare the videos and see that they are the same, only reason is that I was shooting with my phone, and I'm only doing that in this specific glitch because it requires the restart of the Game, and with that the stream stops! But my phone shots at 720p, but you can Cleary see at the end of the video when I finished the game again and tried the glitch once more, that it doesn't worked.

Also I've send another one of the Jumpscare%, that one is crystal clear, you can see the door glitch perfect... XD

Really glad a glitchless category was added too. I've been saying that on my stream forever. If only we could change the start time to be from hitting option on the setting screen, since it feels like pressing start the conventional way and I've always felt starting at first movement was kinda dumb, but that would involve upending all of the leader boards...
Also starting from the settings screen would be easy verification that everyone is starting from a clean save file. But again, I know that would be a pretty dramatic reset to how the game is run. Just thinking out loud here as that's always been a big pet peeve of mine running this game for so long.
Just to make clear to anyone doubting of me yet:
Well, I have all in videos of what I'm doing, streaming and by the phone. All videos are completely raw, no edit what so ever, directly from the PS4 live to the Twich, at same time for my phone. Also I'm teaching how to make it, I'm not even the only one that does the door glitch "Indeed I discovered the Restart door glitch one"
But anyway I'm not a lier, I said I did the glitch, then I prove it, also did another ones for the Flashlight% and Jumpscare% one. It took me more then 300 tries to everything! And it's all on my twitch... Don't know what more prooves you want that I'm not a lier, Also I'm the oldest speed runner around here of P.T. Everything I did was Legit, I would not start scaming now... XD
If you follow my instructions the "restart door glitch" you and anyone that can make the baby laugh at first "Jake" can also beat my record.... Before I start my speed runs 2 years ago, everyone was using "Jerith", I never got that laugh with it... But with Jake I managed, but never really at first try like you guys do XD
And Flaco, about the starting form Settings screen, is not the only way to verify a "clean start" since the first scene with Lisa opening the door and the 2 cockroaches on the floor only happens at the start of the game too!
I'm going to give it a run through tonight. I am in no way calling you a liar, I just know from my experience in video game QA that glitches are unpredictable (for instance, restarting the game during the crashing loop sends you back an extra loop so you're on the fast running loop again) so I just want to make sure we're all on the same page before we all end up doing something that could be the wrong way. Sorry I haven't watched your twitch streams other than the clips you posted, but have you been able to produce the glitch from a fresh save file or only after completing the game at least once on an old save file?
By the way, I really love this game too and have been playing it forever and I remember watching your early stuff to help me out once I started officially speedrunning it, so thanks for all the help! I think you're an awesome runner and you did an amazing job blowing this glitch wide open.
I don't think you are a liar Leo, but I have concerns. Any% is a new game category, in other words (at least in my book) that means a fresh save. Thus if you have to finish the game first then do another attempt to get this glitch, it isn't a NG run, no? Perhaps we could do NG+ (so to speak) and NG any%. But there are a lot of categories now :D
I think that timing method would be better Flaco, but it goes back to what I was saying earlier: I'd rather not remove runs from the boards because of the inaccessibility of the game. Preservation is important to me, especially since that change in timing isn't super significant (add like 25 seconds of loading and the protagonist standing up).
Yeah I totally get that, but even if the timing stayed the same, I would feel much better if the video still had to show it started from the settings screen, at least for any% new game like the category says, and I'm guilty of not deleting my old file in the past too just to save the extra loading time while streaming because I wasn't sure if it mattered.
OK, so I tried this last night, and I couldn't do it, but I didn't really watch the videos closely until this morning and unfortunately now I think I see what happened. Last night, I was using the pause screen to save the game as instructed, but when I watched the current WR run this morning, I noticed that the game never saves. Keep an eye on the bottom right hand corner. The save icon doesn't come up when you go through the final door leading into the cutscene and it doesn't come up after you pause the game because the save icon won't appear until after you return to the game from the pause screen. In the current WR run, the game is quit out very quickly on the pause screen so I'm afraid the game never saved. Then when the game is reloaded I believe it's just reloading the previous save which would be at the final loop.
Hate to seem like the jerk here but I am just trying to help make sure we are all getting it right. You have mastered the door glitch far better than I did in my old WR run, so I'm very confident it won't take you long to shatter that record just on the door glitch alone.
After reviewing bye's most recent WR in the category, I noticed he did not delete his save before starting a new run. I did some investigation into the game and whether this would be a valid run, and I realize that the rules for PT can be updated to make attempts better.
