(This also may work for the GoG version but I haven't tested it.) Since the game is quite old it's gonna be very janky when you first download it. Assuming this will work the same way with everyone, here is a list of things you should do when you first get the game downloaded.

1. Open up the games local folder and open up nglide_config.exe. Then change the settings to this

2. Close that, and open up olconfig.exe.

• In Display Configuration, select Direct3D (HW Accelerated) and tthe highest available mode.
• Go to advanced, and make sure everything but the bottom 2 options are ticked.

• Exited advanced mode and go to Sound Configuration, select DirectSound and make sure CD Music Active is ticked.

3. If none of these work, you can message me privately on either discord or here as there are other ways to help fix these problems via dgVoodoo, but you must show proof of ownership.

If you would like to try fixing it yourself with dgVoodoo then you can try following these steps.

• Download dgVoodoo and move it all into the games install folder.
• Open up dgVoodoo and set the settings to these. Make sure to click the .\ button to direct dgVoodoo to your games download folder.

4. Apply and close. Hopefully, if you open olwin.exe now then the game should open properly and you can tab out and in without it clapping your PC. Note that when in game you need to pause the game and tab out otherwise your mouse will get stuck in the centre of the the screen.

Other Notes

• If you have more than 1 monitor, when opening the game it may move some things around, but you should be able to tab out and place them properly again.
• If speedrunning you can turn off cutscenes, but the one right at the end before you fight Bob Graham will still play so make sure to spam escape to skip it and get right to the fight.
• if streaming it MUST be run in screen capture, game capture will cause the game to freeze at the end of levels for some reason.
• the game can still sometimes crash as with any other old game, but it's a rare occurance.
