I clarified the rules for default settings and I'm thinking of making personalized medals, if you have any ideas, I'm all ears.

Suggestion: at the beginning of the recording, from the main menu, the player goes to the settings and clicks «reset all values». This is easier than deleting and re-creating openttd.cfg - resolution settings, fonts and other “core” settings will not be reset.

After reset, the player is allowed to change any settings except "type: game settings (stored in save)".

**Settings are divided into several types, and only “game settings (stored in save)” are important for speedrun; “client settings (not stored in save)” – purely for player's convenience and familiarity of game interface. Like «move map with right mouse button» or «disable on-screen keyboard».

An exception: "game settings" type, allow changes to «localisation» and «interface». This also does not affect gameplay, but simply changes the display. Localisation changes measurement units - kmh / mph, 1000 liters / 1 m³, horsepower / kW and others; interface allows player to change the location of train signals - left or right to the rails. These changes absolutely do not affect the game calculations, costs or game difficulty.

**Localisation located in «game settings (stored in saves)» purely for convenience. For example, one save uses newgrf with European transport, for which the metric system of units is suitable, another save uses British transport and imperial units, the player does not need to switch the Localisation settings each time. Company settings are just like localisation – stored in save to make the game more convinient.

Finally, about choosing a suitable map. Standard thing for good speedrun. Openttd has 2 console commands for that.

«restart» generates a new map with the same parameters and seed, which can be used to practise on current map. Must be forbidden.

«newgame» generates a new map with a new seed. Works just like Abandon game → new game → generate. Saves several clicks and little bit of player's IRL time.

The only required setting is «pause on new game» (client settings), the speedrun timer must be activated after unpause to not take into account time to generate the map.

Nono_le_devlopeur, this is was suggestion, not actual rules.

Current rules are just «default openttd settings / default map settings», but it is not clear whether it is allowed to change settings not related to the main gameplay.
