Idea for a new Kategory (100%)

How about a 100% Kategory for this game. Rules would be:

  1. Blank safe to start from, Empire city and all unlockable cars have to be locked still, no Lap and Track-Reckords brocken.

Run starts with the beginning of the first race.

Win-Conditions

  1. All Unlockable Cars have to be unlocked.
  2. Empire City has to be unlocked
  3. Turnament and Knockout have to be beaten in Class A; B and C.
  4. Every Lap and Trackreckord has to be beaten on 2;4 and 8 Laps.

Rules:

No Modded Cars. A Knockout has to be completed first to unlock Empire City, only after that turnaments etc. are allowed to be driven. Hot Pursuit as a Cop has to be completed vs Full Field. Hot Pursuit as Racer has to be completed with Bot with the same car as choosen by the driver.

Time will be tacken from "start race" of the first track to crossing the final finishline of the last choosen race.

Interesting idea, but here are my 2 cents:

  1. Turnament and Knockout have to be beaten in Class A; B and C.

"Why all classes? It unlocks nothing. You only need to beat it in one class."

  1. Every Lap and Trackreckord has to be beaten on 2;4 and 8 Laps.

"I don't see a reason for doing this as it unlocks nothing."

A Knockout has to be completed first to unlock Empire City, only after that turnaments etc. are allowed to be driven.

"No reason to do so as EC is never in tournament pools."

Hot Pursuit as a Cop has to be completed vs Full Field.

"Again, why? :) Only thing that matters is to get a badge."

Hot Pursuit as Racer has to be completed with Bot with the same car as choosen by the driver.

"Don't remember exactly how it works, but it's the same answer as above."

Basically, my proposal is to have 100% like this, if someone really decides to do so:

  1. All Unlockable Cars have to be unlocked = Win expert tournament + Get all Hot Pursuit badges (both as a cop and a racer)
  2. Empire City has to be unlocked = Win expert knockout

I should warn you though as such run will be extremely RNG because of weather, track layouts, and AI cars.

Like Ewil said, a lot of the ideas don’t really make sense. Also this game is so inactive that it would only create dead leaderboard space.

Even if it sounds good, I think about the real 100% of this game: Unlock everything. To achieve that, you don't need that amount of tasks. Even though, the 100%runs will be exhaustive to run and moderate. Good idea, but doesn't seem fun at all.

@Ewil the thoughtprocess was, that a 100% run, like in other games, does not have to beat the game, but do everything the game has to offer. That would be Tournament in all classes, same as Knockout and every Lap and Trackrecord. Lap and Trackrekords shouldn t be much of an issue, as you beat all 2 Lap records in Knockout, all 4 Lap-Rekords in Turnament and all 8 Lap Records most likely in Hot Pursuit anyways. Shouldn t be much of an issue if u plan it right. The Point with the Knockout first is legit, missed that one, empire city is not in turnaments, thus this requirement is in deed no use.

In no other game the 100% run requires you to do stuff that doesn't unlock anything. 100% refers to 100% completion, obtaining everything the game can considers as part of its % completion (and if game doesn't track that - literally everything), not performing 100% of every possible in-game action

You confused 100% with max%. These are two very different categories.

Czech Republic

Yes. @unlimitedx What you refer to would be Max%

From my experience completing dozens of games, 100% is pretty much always trackable by the game itself and does NOT always mean doing everything what the game has to offer. It's sometimes strange, because you would think "this" thing definitely needs to be done to get 100% completion, till you realize it's not required.

Since NFSIII does not track % completion anyways, we should come up with either what needs to be for "100%", or "Max%". My suggestion as above was for "100%", as unlocked things are easier to track (assuming rules would require you to show all unlocked things at the end of the run, or something like that.

I think it's not even max%, since it still revolves about unlocking stuff that the game itself doesn't track, not playing through casual content like quick race. Imo max% = 100% for this game

Germany

As I remember it: Any%: beat the game as quickly as Possible. 100%: Do everything you can do, until you beat the game Max%: Clear out the Postgame aswell.

As NFS III has no real Postgame, i agree with wortex, Max% equals 100% in this game.

Romania

uhm, 100% does include postgame. 100% doing everything that is available in the game. For some games tracking that is easier. Like in Mario games it's mostly (but not always) getting all stars and some other side activities. In pokemon it would be making out your trainer card. Max% is something I haven't heared myself honestly. I do feel like it could be the same as 100% in a bunch of games honestly.
