.RivaTuner Configuration Guide for Steam 1.02 AND 1.01 PC Speedruns
Updated 2 years ago by Amei

As of November 2021, RivaTuner (RivaTuner Statistics Server) will be one of our recommended solutions for meeting the leaderboard submission requirements due to a framerate glitch found in the PC release of the game. Given this is a third-party tool, we have some rules in place to help standardize usage.

NOTE: RIVATUNER IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH VC3MOD VERSION 1.8.

Download and Install

RivaTuner often comes bundled with other GPU-monitoring tools such as MSI Afterburner. It's worthwhile to check if you have RivaTuner installed already before downloading it from one of the links below.

RivaTuner (standalone): https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/rtss-rivatuner-statistics-server-download.html MSI Afterburner (bundled with RivaTuner): https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/msi-afterburner-beta-download.html

Simply follow the prompts given by the installer; the process should be fairly simple.

Settings

On launching RivaTuner, you will be met with the following UI: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/294695834719748096/904931002269433956/unknown.png

In the top left, ensure that 'Show On-Screen Display' is enabled. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/294695834719748096/904936865310847037/unknown.png

Next, click on the 'Add' button in the bottom left corner and find 'NieRAutomata.exe'. This can be found in your Steam directory in the following location - \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\NieRAutomata

Finally, select 'NierAutomata.exe' in the left panel and change the highlighted settings found in the image below.

  • Framerate limit: 60
  • On-Screen Display support: ON
  • On-Screen Display zoom: Set this to something large and easily visible.
  • Show own statistics: ON https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/294695834719748096/904933115238166568/unknown.png

These settings should save automatically. From now on, as long as RivaTuner is open, you should see the FPS display in-game - if so, both the FPS display and FPS limiter are functioning correctly.
