Hey guys! I thought I would post the Any% route I have been figuring out for a while. Any% means you have to beat all regular and secret levels, which also means you have to collect all of the diamonds in Worlds 1 through 4, because that unlocks World 5 and the vertical boost powerup. The route I have come up with is actually pretty complicated, but I will do my best to explain.

Some important things to note: the gun powerup takes 800 diamonds to unlock, the jetpack 1,200, and the vertical boost 1,600. Because each level has 100 diamonds, you can divide each cost by 100, and that is how many levels you need to complete to unlock that powerup. Every secret level can be accessed with either the gun powerup or the vertical boost powerup, so we will completely ignore the jetpack powerup in this run.

So, off we go!

You start in Level 1-1, of course. Complete this level while collecting all diamonds.

Next, go to Level 1-2. Collect all diamonds again. I know it's a pain, but there not really any faster way. Trust me.

Now move on to 2-1. You have to jump up there anyway, you may as well do the level. Collect all diamonds again.

Next, complete 1-3 and 1-4 in any order, collecting all diamonds. Move on and do 2-3 and 2-4, then drop down and complete 2-2. Collect all diamonds in these levels.

Now we have 800 diamonds. Guess what that means? We can now enter Grannie's shop and grab the gun powerup! Once you do that, go back and complete Secret 1-4 and Secret 2-4 in any order.

After that, go across and complete 3-3, 3-4, and 3-2 (while collecting all diamonds) in that order. We'll get to 3-1 later.

Next, hop up to 4-3 and complete while collecting all diamonds. As soon as you are done, reenter the level and complete the secret level.

Now, 4-4 requires 15 water sprites (levels beaten) to unlock. We have only completed 12 normal levels. However, since secret levels count toward this, and we have now completed three of those, we actually have 15! Thus, 4-4 will be unlocked. Complete and collect all diamonds.

Next, drop down and beat 4-2, collecting all diamonds.

Move right along to 4-1. Beat the level while collecting all diamonds. Just like 4-3, reenter as soon as you are done and complete the secret level. You can skip the diamonds in the hallway leading to the secret level on your first time through the level and just pick them up on your way to the secret level. This works because you keep diamonds you've collected in the normal level when you go into a secret level. HOWEVER: If you die in the secret level before you hit the checkpoint, you will lose the diamonds you collected in the normal level. Keep this in mind, as it is a fairly significant timeloss if this happens. It shouldn't be a problem, but if it is happening to you, you can always collect the diamonds on your first time through the level, so you don't have to worry about it.

With those levels done, we can now go back and complete 3-1, collecting all diamonds.

We now have the full 1,600 diamonds, enough to unlock the vertical boost powerup! However, we're not going to get it quite yet. First, we can go ahead and complete the secret levels in 5-2 and 5-3 while we still have the gun powerup (you can do 5-3 before 5-2 to optimize hub time).

After you do those, you can go back and grab the vertical boost powerup. We are all done with the levels requiring the gun powerup. Now we simply go through each level and complete each one's secret level. We make a sort of figure-eight pattern through the levels. Here is the order: 2-3, 1-3, 1-1, 1-2, 2-1, 2-2, 3-3, 3-4, 4-4, 4-2, 3-2, 3-1. (Secret 3-1 is pretty tricky to get into with the vertical boost powerup, but it's worth the risk, because you save time getting to the secret level and in the secret level itself, plus you don't have to go get the jetpack powerup for that one level.)

So, after you complete all these levels, all that's left to do is complete World 5. This part is pretty simple. Just complete each regular level (you do NOT need to collect diamonds any more) and the secret levels in 5-1 and 5-4. You can do them in this order: 5-1, Secret 5-1, 5-2, 5-3, 5-4, Secret 5-4.

And that's the whole run! The ending cutscene will now commence. I hope I explained this well enough. Hopefully I can get a run soon so that you can see the route in action. :D But in the mean time, good luck on your runs!
