;-- I. THE GAME --;

Mickey's Speedway USA (or abreviated MSUSA) is a 2000 kart-racer for the N64, developed by RARE, it features the popular Mickey Mouse and his friends on a quest throught all United States to rescue Pluto from the Weasels. This game is, imo, one of Rare's most underrated games on their sleeve (even more than their ZX Spectrum games), it features the same good engine that made Diddy Kong Racing a classic (just slighty altered). Sadly, the game never caught on the audience, mostly because Perfect Dark & Majora's Mask were about to be released at the time this game was launched. It didn't help that critics and players gave the game below-average reviews (the GBC version is better rated on most websites than the N64 one) critizising how just plain the game was in comparation to strong titles like DKR or CTR. Thing is, MSUSA has flaws, the AI is frustrasting, some stuff feel rushed, the acceleration in this game is pretty bad, the items suffer from poor design, and most people find the voice acting obnoxious (i dont find them annoying). But still, is a good game, it has Rare's quality from their golden era, and it can be really fun to play when mastered, so, let's not take more time and get ready for a good time!

:-- II. CONTROLS --:

MSUSA pretty much plays like Diddy Kong Racing, so if you are familiar with that game, it will be easy to play this, but if you dont..

A = Accelerate Control Stick = Move yourself B = Brake Z = Use Item/HONK! HONK! Cup = Change Camera View Cdown = Look Behind Cright= Change between Map & Speedometer R = Hop/Powerslide R+B = Sharp Turn Start= Pause

Some important stuff!

-Like most Kart Racers, before you start the race, tap A to get a boost to your current top speed. -I wil often vary the term powerslide with drifting, they are the same. -Unlike DKR, Powersliding doesn't give you a small boost in your speed, it just keep your current speed while taking corners (be sure to be at top speed when you powerslide). -There's no tech like A-Mashing or Drift Boost, so you're out only with your skill! -There's some corners/sectors with descends (like the ones in Grand Canyon or Indianapolis) that gives you a masssive speed boost. -You can powerslide without holding the A button for better handling (and it doesn't slow you down as much as R+B combo). -On all tracks, there's Tokens (coins with mickey's head on the center), grab 2 of them to gain a small bonus to your top speed. -Boost pads first speeds you up to your current top speed, then add 43MPH to your current speed until the boost ends, leaving to a cooldown state. If you brake/sharp turn while on a boost, you only slow down from the current speed, same for the cooldown. -Hopping off-road is the best way to pass throught them -Going straight is faster than drifting -If you slightly move the stick instead, the character can take turns without slowing down. -You can touch the tip of the Boost Pad and still get a boost. This is very useful when drifting -You can hop by holding left/right and tapping R, this is useful for getting air momentum in some tracks (Like Yellowstone, Dakota or San Francisco). -If you powerslide for too much, you're gonna start spinning around and lose all your speed, look out for for the black smoke! -Jumping off ramps gives you a decent advantage sometimes, but other times, is just better to go normally.

;-- III. CHARACTER OVERVIEW --;

MSUSA has 10 characters to choose from, each one with different stats Speed is how fast you go, Weight is how much the opponent or you will be pushed on a clash Acceleration is how much takes to get to top speed and handling is how good you will be at corners. Speed listed is taken on Professional Difficult.

1°) Mickey Mouse "OH BOY THAT SURE IS SWELL!"

Stats

Weight: 3 Speed: 3 (113MPH normal/118MPH 10 Tokens) Acceleration: 3 Handling : 3

Mickey's pretty average overall, use him if you're new on the game, or if you want a good time on Hawaii. He's decent on most cups and maybe the best choice on Frantic Finale

2°)Daisy Duck "HOW DO I LOOK?"

Stats

Weight : 2 Speed : 2 (106MPH Normal/111MPH 10 Tokens) Acceleration : 4 Handling : 4

Daisy is not good, sure, her acceleration and Handling are good for begginers, but her speed is so slow than is almost impossible to get first place against the others (specially pete/goofy) unless you get lucky with the items. She's bad on most cups and a good choice on Frantic Finale (specially on Texas)

3°) Goofy "WELL WHAT DO YOU KNOW! THAT'S GREAT!"

Stats

Weight: 4 Speed: 4 (118MPH Normal/125MPH 10 Tokens) Acceleration: 2 Handling: 2

Goofy is my favorite character here (and also my fav. disney character), he's hard to play tho, one mistake(like crashing, getting off-road or just getting hit by an item) and bye bye 1st place. Thing is, He has the best Speed (125MPH with 10 tokens) so he's the best choice to play the tournament mode, you can even have a 8 secs advantage over the CPU on tournaments or get the Ghosts Medallions without Ludwig. He's Great for most cups, He could beat Frantic Finale if Texas didn't exist.

4°) Bad Pete "YOU CAN'T STOP ME!"

Weight: 4 Speed: 4 (118MPH Normal/125MPH 10 Tokens) Acceleration: 2 Handling: 2

Pete's the same as Goofy, thought he feels weird when you drift, but that can be just placebo. Use him if you think he's badass (because he is).

5°) Minnie Mouse "OH THIS IS WONDERFUL!"

Stats

Weight : 2 Speed : 2 (106MPH Normal/111MPH 10 Tokens) Acceleration : 4 Handling : 4

Same as Daisy, don't use her unless is Frantic Finale (or you're a cute girl)

6°) Donald Duck "WELL WHAT DO YOU KNOW!"

Stats

Weight: 3 Speed: 3 (113MPH normal/118MPH 10 Tokens) Acceleration: 3 Handling : 3

Sadly, Donald shares the same stats as Mickey, thought that's not bad if you like him more than the mouse.

SECRET CHARACTERS

7°) Dewey Duck (Blue) "PICK ME!"

Stats

Weight : 2 Speed : 2 (106MPH Normal/111MPH 10 Tokens) Acceleration : 5 Handling: 4

Dewey is unlocked once you beat the first 3 tourneys on Amateur with a gold/platinum Trophy. He's pretty good overall, you can crash or get hit and still get a chance to get 1st, but don't use him if you want to go for Time Trials since his speed is bad. Use Him for Frantic Finale if you're tired of trying to beat it.

8°) Louie Duck (Green) "I'M READY TO GO!"

Stats

Weight : 2 Speed : 3 (113MPH normal/118MPH 10 Tokens) Acceleration : 4 Handling : 5

Louie is unlocked once you beat the first 3 tourneys on both amateur and Intermediate with gold/platinum trophy. Louie has better speed in exchange of slighty worse acceleration, so he's pretty good too for most tourneys and can get some Ghost Medals in some tracks (Like Hawaii or Texas). Use him if you still lose with Dewey on FF.

9°) Huey Duck (Red) "THAT'S GREAT!"

Stats

Weight : 3 Speed : 4 (118MPH Normal/125MPH 10 Tokens) Acceleration : 2 Handling : 3

The only way to unlock him is by either having the GBC version of MSUSA with atleast one gold trophy and using the Transfer Pak (so pretty much, he's locked DLC lol) or just playing the japanese version and get one Ghost Medal. i don't have him since i have the USA version and I don't care on spending money on a Transfer Pak/GBC/Game lol, But he's pretty much the best nephew in the game. Use him to get the best times on Hawaii & Texas

NOTE: All the nephews suffer from poor off-road speed, so if you get a boost/spritzer, don't go to grass/dirt zones, if for some reason you're stuck on off-road, start hopping like crazy.

10°) Professor Ludwig Von Drake "WHAT A NIFTY CHOICE!"

Stats

Weight : 5 Speed : 5 (150MPH, doesn't change with tokens) Acceleration : 1 Handling : 1

You unlock Ludwig by getting the Professional Platinum Trophy on Frantic Finale Oh Ludwig, you're so broken, yet so bad. He has the best speed in the game, yet the worst stats, he's the hardest character to play in the game since one tiny mistake (even slowing too much for a curve or not starting with a boost) means you lose. The best way of using Ludwig is training a lot on Indianapolis/New Mexico and getting really good at taking corners without slowing down. He's hilariously broken on amateur on all cups, and insanely hard on the rest of difficults. Used mostly for Ghost Medals and World Records.

:-- IV. WEAPONS --:

The weapons in MSUSA are pretty basics, yet most of them are useless and their appear chance is pretty bad

Baseball Chucker: Goes on a straight line towards the opponent until they slow down, can bounce throught the walls, you can use them behind by using Z+Down. 70% of the time you will get this item, and 80% you wouldn't hit anyone or just hit yourself, Use it mostly as a trap or if your opponent is REALLY near you.

Paint Splotcher: Green Goo that makes the opponent start spinning and losing speed, you can throw it forward by pressing Z+Up. Another useless item that will mostly appear when you need a good item near your opponent infront, only use it when you have someone behind you.

TraceChaser: A R.C Car that follows an opponent and hits them, making them spin. This would be an okay item if the car wasn't poorly designed, it mostly fails to hit the opponent or just go full towards the walls, even if it hits, it just spins them, making them not useful for a good advantage. Use it if the opponent is nearby you, but not that far.

Magno-Flyer: An toy air-plane that hits the opponent by chasing them. This item is the only offensive one that's decent because it actually slows the opponent and has a fair chance of hitting them, but sadly it has the same behavior as the TraceChaser. Mostly used if you're desperate to get that 1st place.

Spritzer: One of the few good items, gives you a boost to go faster, sadly it appears rarely most of the time, even at lower pos. Use it when you think you can pass an off-road or you have to go up a ramp.

Shield Shell: The Best item in the game, gives you invunerability and a speed boost and makes enemies spin on contact. Same problem of Pritzer on appear rate, but it pays off. Same use as Spritzer.

Stormy Weather: Makes a raining cloud appear on all opponents and makes them slow down a lot for a brief time. This item mostly appear when you're 6th and pretty far off the CPU, it's pretty useless for the most part since you can't get enough time to make a comeback and it's just better to retry the level. CPUs like to spam this item when you're far off them.

Oomph Tokens: Gives you 3 tokens so your top speed increase. Mostly useful, mostly useless, the speed boost tokens give isn't that great (2 tokens = +1mph) and it stop giving you a bonus once you're on 10 tokens. Try to get 20 coins on tourneys so this item don't appear when you have enough of them.

Don't try to rely on items to win, this isn't Mario Kart, use your skill to overcome the opponents and just use items as a bonus.

;-- V. GAME MODES OVERVIEW --;

There are 5 modes of play on this game:

-Tournament divided in 5 tourneys (Traffic Troubles, Freewayphobia, Motorway Mania, Victory Vehicles and Frantic Finale) You must race 4 tracks and get the most points possible to win a Trophy, varying from Bronze (3rd), Silver (2nd), Gold (1st) and Platinum (1st on all tracks). They are separated on Amateur, Intermediate and Professional. Amateur has easy CPU and cars with good acceleration & handling but with slow speed,so Goofy/Pete/Ludwig can beat this easily. Intermediate has regular cars and regular AI, Mickey/Donald can beat this with a few tries of understanding the tracks. Professional is AI as a Monster, they never slowdown, takes all the corners with ease (they make using Goofy on Texas seem like a breeze) Be careful on this one, i recommend Goofy or Pete for the best results. Once you beat all the cups, you unlock the Annoying Mirror mode which is the same as Pro but with mirrored tracks, with is an annoyance since it makes you confuse with the previous memorized track design.

If you get 5th or 6th you have to retry the track, you only got 2 retries, so if you're out of them, you have to restart from the beginning.

-Time Trial

My favorite mode so far, try to get the fastest time on each track. If you go to options and enable developer ghosts, you can try to get Ghost medals or just get a nice Time or even a World Record (good luck with Ludwig).

-Practice

A pretty useless mode where you wander around getting used to the character, and that's it.

-Contest

Battle Mode, play against 3 other players/cpus in a arena and use items to hit them until all their balloons pop. It's meh overall, mostly because the tracks are boring and the items arent good.

  • VS.

Play against your friends on all the tracks, you can enable triple weapons on the cheats options. I don't think people would want to play this when most of the time they would want to play Mario Kart 64, Smash Bros. or Goldeneye or they just don't want to play a game where you play as Goofy. But if you find someone (mostly young cousins lol) that's pretty cool.

  • Options

Change options between Volume of Music, SFX, Voices, Wide-Screen, Data Management, Cheats & other stuff. Mostly you will get here to enable digital speedometer or turn off the voices (lol)

:-- VI. QUICK GUIDE ON TOURNAMENT --:

a)LEARN THE TRACK! If you have problems with a track (like New York or Colorado), Just Practice them, that's the best way of getting good at this. I also had problems with some tracks, but with practice, now I can get even 8 secs of advantage over professional CPUS!

b)Use mostly Goofy or Pete, yeah, their handling & Acceleration are bad and one hit from an item or a crash makes you lose a lot of advantage, but their speed is good so you dont have troubles when the CPU gets nearby.

c)If you find a track that just kill your winning streak, play it until you're good at it, dont even try to get a good time, just play it until you find you can do good on it

d)The Nephews are better than the whole cast, so if you're still having trouble with the tracks just use them, don't worry about them beign cheap or something, you can try the cup later with another character.

e)Just get 10 Tokens, after that just try to get them as you play around the track so you don't get the token expenser as an Item. Remember that the speed bonus tokens give stop at 10 and 2 tokens equal 1 speed bonus (and Ludwig doesn't get any bonus from tokens).

f)Get good at powersliding and take corners as close as possible.

g)Before you go to Frantic Finale, playtest the tracks on TT and learn them, Oregon & Colorado seems impossible at first, but then you get used to. Use Minnie/Daisy at first, then you can try with Mickey/Donald for better results, don't even try Goofy/Pete if you're not good.

h)Leave Amateur at the end so you can easily get platinum trophies with Ludwig.

There's nothing more, just get good and see the hard work get rewarded!

;-- VII. SECRET STUFF --;

4th Tourney : To get to Victory Vehicles, beat the first 3 tourneys on Professional with a Gold/Platinum Trophy

5th Tourney : To get to Frantic Finale, get all the 4 pieces of Ludwig's car and finish Victory Vehicles with a Gold/Platinum Trophy These pieces are: 1st one is in Indianapolis, after the tunnel, go back until you see a garage, that's where the part is. 2nd one is in Philadelphia, inside the ship zone with various boxes (before you end a lap), look around for the 2nd piece. 3rd one is in Chicago, after a green-lighted downhill, you will see 2 roads, go into the one that's down there (not the one on the right) and you will find the 3rd Piece 4th One is on Malibu, after the 1st U-Turn, go off-road until you see some wall that plays a well-hidden road with the last Piece

New Orleans : To unlock this track, you must go to practice mode, go into the farm zone and look for chicken eggs, squash 20 of them and you hear a tune that means New Orleans is unlocked!. Or You can get all 20 Platinum Trophies. The Chickens start laying eggs when you get to Frantic Finale.

Mickey & Pluto on the TV : Beat Frantic Finale with a Gold/Platinum Trophy and succesfully rescue Pluto.

Ludwig on the TV : Unlock Ludwig, New Orleans and get Ghost Medals on all the tracks

How to unlock Characters: Listed on the Character Overview.

Cheats:

Digital Speedometer : Win a Gold/Platinum Trophy on Mirrored Motorway Mania = Let's you see your speed, useful for TTs Disable Boost Pads : Win a Gold/Platinum Trophy on Frantic Finale = Disable Boost Pads, useless unless you want a harder challenge. Heckle Button : Win a Gold/Platinum Trophy on both Amateur and Intermediate Difficult of the first 3 Tourneys = Instead of a Claxon after pressing Z, you will hear your character say something, hilarious if you play Goofy and make him do the Goofy Holler when you hit a boost pad. Negative Coins: Win a Gold/Platinum Trophy on Mirrored Traffic Troubles = You start with 10 Coins and if you grab one it slows you down Until it hits 0, useless unless you want a harder challenge (which is insane). Rainbow Goo: Win a Gold/Platinum Trophy on the first 3 tourneys on Amateur = Paint Splotcher color is distinct, but it doesn't affect it use. Tiny Racers: Win a Gold/Platinum Trophy on Mirrored Freewayphobia = Characters are small, it doesn't affect gameplay. Unlimited Retries : Win a Gold/Platinum Trophy on the 3 difficulties on the first 3 tourneys = Can retry as long as you want the tracks on tournament, good if you're terribad at some stages. Jukebox : Win a Gold/Platinum Trophy on Frantic Finale = Listen to the great music of this game by going on the music option (Thanks Ben Cullum for making the music!). View Credits : Win a Gold/Platinum Trophy on all mirrored tourneys = Watch the credits lol.

:-- VIII. TIME TRIALS GUIDE --:

Oh boy, here we start with the good stuff, Time Trials (or TT for short) is my favorite mode in racing games, and by far, MSUSA has the best one, you don't have to learn advanced stuff like A-Mashing, Snaking or Multiple Boosts, it's all about how good can you dominate the track, so let's get started. First, remember to enable all the ghosts so you can see if you're doing good or bad, second, enable Digital Speedometer on the cheats section, if you don't have it yet, just don't go to TT until you unlocked it, the default speedometer is not good for this. Third, don't try to beat times if you're still on your way to get all the trophies, the Staff Ghosts at first seem impossible to beat, so you need to get good at the basics (Powersliding, Token Route, etc..) Finally, use Pete/Goofy or Ludwig for most tracks, there are few that needs other chars (like Huey on Texas). When you first race, you will race against a Ghost Mickey/Donald or Minnie/Daisy, if you beat them, you get the chance to race against the true developer time ghost (Pete/Goofy) and they're not easy to beat. I would give you times of the developers ghosts, but there's no data of them and is hard to see how much they take overall, i will let you with my times so you can guide yourself when getting ghost medals.

1°) INDIANAPOLIS ( Time 0:59:35 with Ludwig )

Basic stuff, use Ludwig for a quick win (is possible to beat the staff ghost with Pete/Goofy). get the first row of tokens and then try to drift all the way between the road and the yellow dirt, watch your speedometer, with Ludwig you can slighty press B to keep yourself on the road, on the tunnel section you should have 5 or 6 tokens. Drift close to the wall to the left and then change the direction of the drift and go close the white & red border and go again to the yellow part of the off-road section, make sure your speed is 143MPH, just be careful because the zone between it and the off-road is smaller, and after that you can go straight to the finish line, if you lost some speed start a short powersliding on the boards, using the last part of the yellow dirt for powersliding also helps (drift to the left until you're with 150MPH) you get instant top speed or even more, remember to get some tokens you missed until you're with 10. If you're Ludwig ignore all the token stuff, he doesn't get more speed from them.

2°) SAN FRANCISCO ( Time 1:49:40 with Ludwig )

Again, use Ludwig, you can go trought the first part pretty easily without even powersliding, once you see the bridge start drifting so you pass near the edge of the turn (you can guide yourself by taking the 2 tokens), once on the boost pad section, when you see the ramps, hop on them to get high, on the second one try to get yourself on a good position, you can brake throught mid-air and keep your speed. Start drifting like before and go downhill, once you see tokens, start drifting to the right and then change to the left, this part is difficult since you want to be near the right wall to keep yourself faster and cut road, but some irregularities on the road makes it hard you may be forced to Sharp Turn (R+B) on this part when you get to the finish line. As Goofy/Pete is kinda easier thanks to better handling, and there's tokens everywhere so you don't need to make a token route.

3°) NEW MEXICO (TIME 1:28:15 with Ludwig )

This IS Ludwig's Track, the road is so huge that he can easily drive even with his poor handling, but his awful acceleration still makes it a challenge. First, instantly after you end the downhill start drifting as close as you can to the sand part without touching it, then try to be on the right side when you go up, remember to keep drifting throught the uphill! because the turn here is hard for ludwig to keep it up, after that is pretty easy, just drift your way near the walls on the tunnel and on the cave section keep drifting (you may press to the right on the stick for more road cut). When you exit the Cave try to positionate yourself so you can drift the turn near the hole on the right and finally do the same for the first turn of the track once you finish the lap. When you're positionating yourself, just slightly move the stick so you don't lose precious speed Just use Ludwig, he's easy to use in this track.

4°) GRAND CANYON ( TIME 2:15:66 with Ludwig )

The longest track in the game, I recommend Using Pete/Goofy, Ludwig is very viable, but he's really hard to play here and you're just better playing with other Chars. First, go to the left road and DON'T drive to the ramps on the left, they will heavily slow you down and you will need to restart the track. After that, drift close to the right wall and go straight downhill here and drift to the left to get the 3 tokens, after that keep drifting near the right while dodging the huge boulder, keep drifting until you get to the boost pad and go up. Keep yourself to the right and dodge the leaf mounts, there's some road with leaves but they don't slow you down, keep it up until you get to the snake turn here. First, take the first part with a Sharp Turn and then start drifting until you see the bridge, when the road split, go to the right and start drifting throught the leaf part (it doesn't slow you), you should have a lot of tokens here so don't take the row and just go to the boost (if you miss some, grab minimum 2 of them), at last, take a huge jump and cut as much road as you can to get to the finish line.

5°) LOS ANGELES ( TIME 0:52:51 with Ludwig )

This track is really easy, Use Ludwig and keep drifting constantly, if necessary, slightly tap B to keep yourself close to the Left, don't worry, since you're going down, your speed gets at the top pretty quickly, when you're passing to the next Turn throught the tunnel, go to the right by slightly moving the Stick, then Start drifting the same way as before. There's a token row before the end, when you see it, start drifting, the best thing when you pass first lap is that you can now alternate between drifting and turning without using the B button. There's nothing else to say, just keep yourself good at drifting and hone those skills.

6°) ALASKA ( TIME 0:56:58 with Goofy )

Use Goofy/Pete, I've seen people beat this track with Ludwig, but good luck trying to keep him at good speed on the slides. First, when you start, inmediatly start drifting between the ice pyramid throught the sliding section, try no to drift for too much or you will crash with the pyramid, hop instead to the left. Get 3 tokens here while you drift not too close to the snow on the right of the tunnel. Before the tunnel ends, don't get too close of the right or you will lose speed on the snow and go to the right path, look at your speed if you're 120MPH or up, you're good to go. When you see the boost pad, start drifting to the right tunnel and alternate directions to keep yourself drifting on this part. Finally, Take some tokens while drifting, get the boost pad and pass throught the piramid, the best way to pass here is at the moment you pass the pyramid on the side, you stop drifting and go straight, on the 2nd pyramid, hop to the right and keep drifting until you see the 1st piramid of the track and hop. The best way to beat this track is getting used to how to pass between the ice pyramids and the ice slides, remember to keep an eye on your current speed.

7°) LAS VEGAS ( TIME 01:36:86 with Ludwig )

This track isn't that hard for Ludwig, so let's play with him here. First thing, DON'T GO FOR THE SHORTCUT the ghost take, Ludwig doesn't get a reward for using it and is just better to drift the first U-Turn of the track, when you enter the casino, slightly press B then then slightly turn throught the corner, you will see you pass the Pete ghost in almost no time.Keep drifting normally until the desert part, here, slightly turn to the right so you can take the U-Turn closely, watch out for the off-road though. The last part is tricky, go for the shortcut that pass the abyss before the end of the lap, since your speed is high, you can pass it without problems (you can hop at the end if you're not sure you will pass, have atleast 140MPH), when you're on Lap 2, try to sharp turn a few times (drift, then slightly tap B until you can drift again across the Casino).Take note that after this your speed will be at like 120MPH or less. Do the same route for the rest laps.

8°) PHILADELPHIA ( TIME 1:33:10 With Ludwig )

Well, this isn't an easy one, let's go. Use Ludwig, and start going to the left (the ludwig way, by slightly moving the stick) and start drifting, once you pass between the hydrant(?) and the border of the road, change the direction of your drift, guide yourself by taking the first token of the first and second row, so you pass between the corner of the warehouse and the hydrant, if your speed is on 120 after this, restart (you can still try to get the medal). On the box section, start drifting to the right when you're on the side of the first right base of the crane and stop drifting when you pass one of the corners of the warehouse, go slightly diagonally into another corner between the track and a hydrant, pass them by drifting and enter the warehouse, watch out for the right wall. Now, be careful of the green zones (i think is Oil lol) and the left lower base of the crane, try to pass this by turning the ludwig way to the right, you will see a path were you can pass without touching the oil, then drift the corner so you hit the boost pad, pass this by drifting (and when you exit, try to drift close to the right side of the exit door), watch out for the oil on the side of the fence. Now on the Red Warehouse, drift your way by making a distance between you and the warehouse, and when you pass it, tap B two times while you drift so you see where the entrance to the ship is and drift to the right, is good that your speed is from 130 140MPH. Change the direction of the drift and on the exit, pass it near the right side of the exit, go slightly diagonally until you're near a fence, then drift close to the corner and positionate yourself before the finish line. A good thing is after the first lap, taking the first hydrant/border part is much easier thanks to a better position.

9°) DAKOTA ( TIME 0:38:90 With Ludwig )

I love this track, short, quick, and a nice presentation with an excellent tune. Start drifting as soon as you get the first token, then change direction where the u-turn starts, try to get as close as possible to the right wall of the u-turn and start holding B to pass it and get the Boost Pad (to guide yourself on speed, you're good with a speed from 93 to 110MPH). Pass throught the grass, and start drifting to the right when you pass it, try to be close to the right wall by tapping B (Don't worry, won't go down during the cooldown). When you're entering the tunnel, turn the Ludwig way to the right and start drifting before going to the ramp. When you fall down, try to fall on the road, and start sharp-turning until you see the boost pad, go and get it. There's a zone between the road and the grass on this part where you can pass without slowing down (like indianapolis), with ludwig, only pass by drifting the borders. On the rest of laps you can slowdown on the U-Turn to 120 thanks to the previous boost. You can beat this with Goofy/Pete, just tap instead of hold the B button on the U-Turn and go to the previously mentioned off-road.

10°) SEATTLE ( TIME 1:09:86 with Ludwig )

Not a hard track, but can be confusing, play Ludwig. Go slightly diagonally to the left and start drifting before you get the boost pad, guide yourself by taking the last token of the row. Keep drifting throught the pillars, when you pass a block-like wall, tap B while drifting and change the direction of it. Take the boost and drift to the right (try to take some tokens from that side) and go to the other way near the left wall. Sharp Turn the curve and take the Boost Pad, you will enter a place where there's uphills everywhere on the side of a straight road, Just keep drifting and changing directions, if necessary, tap B so you don't crash. When you exit, there's another up hill, try to get close to the right and take the corner closely so you take the boost, you might have to sharp-turn here, just look at your speed and don't overdo it. At the start of the race, you can hop after the initial boost and get some advantage.

working on the rest!

;-- IX. QUESTIONS--;

Q:Any tier lists? Best Characters? A:My personal Tier List for MSUSA would be like

Top Huey Ludwig

Upper Louie Goofy/Pete

Mid Dewey Mickey/Donald

Low Minnie/Daisy

Huey has the best stats in the game and his speed is good enough, his handling being better than Goofy/Pete also makes him better. Ludwig can be the best too, but only if the player is really good to keep perfect races. The other tiers can change (Goofy/Pete can do better than the nephews, but they having better accel. makes them easier to play), Minnie/Daisy just can't compete with their poor top speed.

Q:Can I trust your opinions and tips? A: I haven't see any other guides for this game (besides a really mk64 biased one on gfaq) and I have played a lot of the gam recently, plus i have some good times on some tracks and i'm very good at looking at the tech stuff from games.

Q:Is There any good shortcuts? A: I would say only 2 are worthwhile, the 2nd one in Chicago and the one on New York (and this isn't even useful with Ludwig), the other ones are pretty specific (like having good speed or a spritzer) or just doesn't give you enough advantage (hello grand canyon!)

Q:I don't understand your TTs guide A: Play the course until you have a decent time, then look at the guide, you will better understand how it works, if you still have trouble, contact me.

Q: I CAN'T CONTROL LUDWIG! A: Neither me, but I practiced like crazy on tracks where he is pretty good (New Mexico, Los Angeles, Dakota & New Orleans), then I tried on other tracks. The key to use him is to alternate between drifting (and tapping B depending on the turn) and slightly moving the stick. Use Goofy/Pete until you think you're good enough to try Ludwig.

Q: FRANTIC FINALE IS TOO HARD FOR ME!! I QUIT! A: Use Dewey or Louie, they have enough accel. and handling to take those infernal turns on Texas & Colorado, and activate infinite tries cheat.

Q: What's the best way to win races/get good times? A: Cut as much road as you can on turns (like being near the wall during a U-Turn or passing near the edge of a corner) and try to make the first lap always a Token lap.

Q: THE CPU IS UNBEATABLE!! WHERE'S MY OP BLUE SHELL!?!?!?! A: They are hard to beat, i give you that, but the same tips of the TT guide can be applied to tourney mode, just be ready to get spammed by stormy weathers lol

Q: I can't beat Colorado!! A: Make sure you sharp turn when it's necessary and drift when you need to, also, replay this track a lot on TT, no matter if you dont beat Donald's Ghost, the thing is you memorize the layout and learn where to drift, where to sharp turn and where to go straight. Use Dewey or Louie on FF and Goofy/Pete on TT.
