So I have no problem recording but I'm on a Mac and can't use live split, is it mandatory to have a live timer for your run?

Timer doesn't seem to be required according to the rules. It'll be helpful for the mods if you can but it's not necessary.

You can also use plenty of other timers. Splitty is my personal timer of choice.
