Minnie/Daisy:
-Really easy to use when racing
-Slow characters but with good handling
-Terrible for speedrunning separate tracks(I wouldn't say they are terrible for speedrunning cups but if you do pick them you have a bad RNG since you left up Mickey/Donald which are the worst NPCs to face)

Mickey/Donald:
-Jack of all trade characters
-Can be used for speedrunning cups and/or separate tracks
-Recommended for people who are just getting into speedrunning this game

Goofy/Pete:
-The best characters in the game
-REALLY fast but hard to handle, drifts easily
-Recommended for people who have experience with the game's mechanics
-Best characters to use for any type of speedrunning in the game

Helpful Tips and Tricks for Full-Game Runs

-When racing, Mickey or Donald are the suggested characters
-The best RNG for each cup is to have your opponents be anyone EXCEPT Mickey or Donald
- Practice each course that has a ramp and find the angle to launch off in order to slide down the ramp on the other side, thus canceling the bouncing animation that severely slows you down
-PRACTICE EVERY TRACK THAT TAKES PLACE IN A CITY such as San Fransisco and Boston. These tracks are nearly impossible on harder difficulties if you haven't practiced them beforehand due to most turns being sharp 90' turns on narrow roads
-Bump into the front of other racers to bump them back and boost you forwards (especially useful of Goofy and Pete)

How to do anything if you want to speedrun this game

Hello, I'm L810, a new member of the speedrunning community as a whole, and I wanted to start with a mostly abandoned game that's still one of my all-time favorites. The difficult part is that you need video evidence of your speedruns, and that can be difficult to get.
	The easiest way to record footage of this game is through a GameCube capture card and a GameBoy player attachment to our GameCube. I don't own either of these things, so I've never tried this method, but I assume it should work.
	For all of us without that option and having enough dignity to not get someone else to film our GameBoy screen for the whole run, your option is an emulator. So far, I have found that the BGB emulator does the bast job in emulating this game (others can't even get past the title screen). grab a ROM of the game (sidenote, in order for that to be legal, you are required to own a legitimate copy of this game) and configure your controller settings within the emulator by right-clicking in the application, clicking options,then joypad, then you guys get the idea.
	Now, you've got everything running. To capture your gameplay, use a tool such as an Unregistered Hypercam 2 (lol, jk jk jk) XSplit, or OBS. I use XSplit and record my footage locally, and it works fine. Plus, you can use this simple interface to stream your runs on Twitch.
	Simple as that! You can also use applications such as LiveSplit to keep track of your run time. And that's it! Hopefully this will help anyone with even the littlest desire to set even a time trial record ('Cuz let's be honest, most of them are blank right now, it wouldn't be too hard to score a WR). I should have splits and save files for you guys to use in the future, so look forward to that!

Secret Track! - How to play

Secret Track! is a hidden track in Mickey's Speedway USA (GBC). This track normally requires 2 GBCs and a copy of both this game and Mickey's Racing Adventure. You are intended to use the infrared link function of the GBC to send a letter from the Post Office in MRA to MSUSA to unlock the track.

Using code **01018CCE**, the track is playable on emulators or on any device which allows the use of such codes (e.g. GameShark). Once entered and enabled, simply enter any course in Time Trials (the course will appear glitchy when you load in), then pause and select Restart. You'll be taken to Secret Track!

Be careful when scrolling through the menus, as this code causes them to glitch out heavily. If you scroll too far in the track select menu, the game will eventually crash.

Turbo Start

You can get a turbo start by pressing A immediately after the green light. Note that optimal starts are frame-perfect - every valid frame after the first will yield an increasingly slower speed off the line, so there's only one frame for starting at the maximum speed (the first valid frame).
