Overworld:

Join a game look around for 10-30 sec if no structures or lava pool reset

Best structures:village,ruined portal and shipwrecks

In villages get 3-4 beds ,15 haybales(make 14 haybales into bread leave 1 for negating fall damage) kill iron golem to make a bucket>shield>flint and steel

In ruined portals hope for it to be complete able or use it as a lava pool and get the chest and gold blocks if u can

In shipwreck get all chests if iron good if map follow it to chest and get loot there

After all that dig down under bell in villages in 600-1200 and hope for stronghold If no village dig next to a water pool anywhere and lava pools will mostly be at level 11 under it
