Marfusha basic guide

Quick read through guide for Marfusha (If anybody wants to translate this guide for their language; please do, just make sure it's accessible on speedrun.com... It's nice to have a centralized site.)

Japanese Version vs English Version (IF YOU ARE PLAYING ON VERSION 1.1.0 OR LATER, THIS DOESN'T MATTER JUST PLAY THE VERSION YOU UNDERSTAND.)

They're similar for the most part until the day 90 boss. In the Japanese version, you can jam yourself in the boss by holding right when the boss enters, and hit the button inside the boss body. (You can also enter the body after the boss opens their mouth, just hold right and you should be in the boss body when it closes and be able to damage it.) In the English version you can't do that. The day 90 boss battle is 15 seconds faster than the English version. To get access to the Japanese version, hit properties on the game, click the language tab, and select Japanese in the drop down menu. (If this is the first time playing/speedrunning the game, it might be worth it to get a good time in English so you can memorize the picture for the upgrades and weapons, then switch to Japanese when you familiarized yourself with it and 12-13 seconds matter a lot more.)

There's really only like two-three 'obscure' things, everything else is just making the best out of buying rounds and shooting.

"Retry skip" On day 8, shoot the first flying bomb and let the rest fly into your wall, the last bomb should kill you but when you hit retry; it'll push you to the next day.

Enemy spawns Enemies spawn on the right side of the screen where your character is standing, so if you stand way back to the left enemies will spawn closer to the wall than if you stand to the right. (only really useful for later rounds I think cause grouping doesn't work early on.)

"Don't buy anything button" After buying something on the buying round, you can hit the, "Don't buy anything" button to skip the remainder of the time on the buying. Saves a few seconds but it adds up over the course of the run.

Weapon list from my and other runners perspective; [This is for 1.0.6 patch, the new 1.1.0 patch will be in brackets.]

"The priorities for acquisition throughout the entire process are as follows, There is no need to distinguish between advanced and general.

1,Shotgun 2,Sub machine gun = Sniper rifle? (if you hit the shots, smg is really good.) 3,Grenade launcher 4,Light machine gun = Assault rifle" (AR should never be gained/collected, it's absolute shit.) -AzamiNagatsuki (the parts in the parenthesis is me giving more context)

[[1,Sub machine gun = Sniper rifle? (it's reload is insane and rapid fire was buffed a bit too so this is really good) 2,Shotgun (This patch nerfed the Shotgun a lot; -30% in Rapid Fire Power, and -20% in reload.) 3,Grenade launcher 4,Light machine gun = Assault rifle" (AR should never be gained/collected, it's absolute shit.)]]

[[LMG is useful at the beginning but drops off fast cause it has low dps. AR is beyond shit. Regular SMG's are the main guns you want, it's quite possible the regular SMG beats the Advance SMG. Sniper rifle is useful for bosses, but you don't want to carry them on flying bombs rounds as the shots can't keep up with them. Shotguns are in a weird limbo currently, I don't know if they are worse then GR or not, but they are better than the Handgun so it's got that going for it]]

LMG is useful at the beginning but drops off fast cause it has low dps. AR is beyond shit. Shotguns and Advance shotguns are the main guns you want. Sniper rifle is useful for bosses, but you don't want to carry them on flying bombs rounds as the shots can't keep up with them "The number of days you want to use the sniper rifle is 80th, 90th and 100th. So I pray that I can have it on those days. For the 40th, 51st, and 60th days, there is a time delay until the non-boss enemies are destroyed. So there is basically no need to carry a sniper rifle yourself." - AzamiNagatsuki SMG's are okay, but your shots really count with them.

Allies: There are two ways to save for allies; "As you may know, there are two ways to get advanced helpers efficiently. Proceed without purchasing any weapons until the 4th day, and maintain 20 credits after the 7th day. And use "Retry Skip" on the 8th day to maintain 20 credits after the 9th day. "Retry skip" will occur when the wall is destroyed and the enemy is destroyed at the same time." - AzamiNagatsuki

You want advance allies, regular allies are a waste of money and time, the level 3 regulars = to the level 1 Advance allies. If you have an Advance ally that isn't the Advance SMG or Advance SR or Advance AR, it's okay to continue but you are really losing time compared to getting those three.

Advance SR-chan is the one you want, and if you get her the sooner the better. Plus getting her first doesn't waste money you might need later.

Stats: I don't know which of the 4 stats are most important or you need to fill up first, it's just if you see an upgrade for one of these you should get it if you have the money.

Stats that are helpful in no order; Attack power, rapid fire power, Magazine capacity, and Reload speed.

Stats that are nice to have but not required: Bullet speed, Bullet concentration.

Card knowledge; The left and right card don't matter here, they do have some knowledge known about but it's NOT useful, especially for beginners. The middle card though, can be manipulated a bit, if you have a weapon durability of 3 or less the middle card will give you a general weapon always. So if you want the card to be something else buy a weapon before 3 durability, or if you want another weapon; buy a trade off that ruins your durability and hope for a better weapon.
