Pretty old video, done a week after I had set the WR. Explains the basics of Magicite speedruns, uses Jelly Blade route.
Pretty much only useful thing here is learning how to handle the batwing and floaty slime.

In text form:
Press E to dash. Don't press D because that will slow you down to normal walking speed.
Don't spam E and keep using W and S to stay in the air. 
When at the boss kill the first few enemies, then go whack the boss.

Other routes:
Zweihander (old) - Get a bugnet, catch 2 ice/fire/electric bugs, get a zweihander, combine gem with zweihander, go kill boss
Jelly Blade (Normal) - Choose Djinn race, insta-kill Jellyfishses in the Veldt Biome, and pray to RNGeesus. Then go kill the boss.
Laser Sword¤ (New) - Choose spirit (attack+15), go to a crater biome and open chests. Pray to RNGeesus to get a laser sword and not be killed. Then go kill the boss. 

¤This route is extremely difficult and hasn't successfully been done before. 

Note: The boss is extremely difficult, so make sure you have a good plan for fighting the scourge wall.

New Route (Any%)

So basically Anaru came up with this new set-up, and it is definitely faster than using a Jelly Blade, and probably faster than the laser sword too. It also removes the RNG factor of the Jelly Blade/Laser sword.

Set-up:
Race: Scourgeling
Hat: Bat Wing
Companion: Gorgon eye
Stats: HP - 6, Magic - 4.
Traits: (Defensive +) Intelligent

How does it work?
By using the zombie staff you get from the Scourgeling and using the gorgon eye as companion, 
you can spam it and summon tons of zombies. Zombies keep running against the boss and won't turn around.
Because they keep hitting the boss really quick the boss will be killed in no time. 

The RNG:
First district          -> 	4/5/6 rooms. Can be a difference of 10-15 seconds.
Village generation -> 	Some rooms are easier to maneuver in than others. Probably like 10 seconds in total.
Scourge lair          -> This room lay-out needs to start in a room where you have enough space to spam the zombie staff.
				Sometimes you can get a really large room with a lot of scourge masks (the floaty heads). These mobs
				should be avoided. 

Explanation:
>Use the correct set-up
>Use dash + jump to gain the most speed, be sure to release D while doing this
>Enter the first door, start mashing W
>Mash W until you reach the 4th district 
>Go to the next door, mash W, stop at district 6 so you skip from village to village
>Keep repeating this until you reach district 18, go to the door
>Keep mashing W until you reach the scourge lair
>Make sure you have some space, then start spamming RMB to summon zombies, make sure they're actually hitting the scourge wall
>Dodge the projectiles, try to stay alive as long as possible

Extra:
- The zombies will continue to attack even after you die, so never give up!
- The version is 1.6
- You can try to use the bat wing instead of the wasp goggles. I haven't tested it yet, but it probably is faster. It definitely will be more difficult, though.

Skipping Strat (Any%)

New route basically.
>choose spirit or djinn, preference really
>wasp glasses and haste beetle (Floaty slime messes up the trick)
>go to the end of the first district
>mash W until you reach the 4th district
>go to the door, mash W, stop at district 6 so you skip from village to village
>repeat this until you find a veldt
>Go into veldt, kill jelly flish, try to get a jelly blade
>at the end of the district keep spamming W so you go up 3 districts
>at district 18 also mash W for the 3 skip
>fight the boss

You can also skip getting the jelly blade and go for the laser sword, of course.
