Glitchless% ?

Well I was going to submit some runs, in Glitchless%, upon watching some runs, I noticed there where glitches being used, for example, I used to run Outlast Glitchless% and skipping any kind of video sequence, IS glitching. If you "skip" a thing in game your supposed to interact with, Video sequences lets say, I feel thats glitching. I guess why is that not looked at as a glitch? I know most game see that as glitching. Thanks for your time, and hope to run with you soon.

PS: I feel Glitchless% means, you have to play the game, the way it was men't to be played. SeemsGood

the general rule of thumb is: doing something in a way unintended by the developers does not equal a glitch.

as long as you do not expand upon the abilities given to you by the game you are not glitching. this means no "jumping further then should be possible" or "getting to areas you can not get to without breaking the basic mechanics of the game"

extremely hard, but possible jumps like the maelstrom skip, are not a glitch even if they are unintended by the developers since they are 100% within the realm of things you can do as an average player.

when it comes to soul reaver specifically we have a fairly well defined list of what we consider "glitches", primarily because they far surpass what you would call a glitch in other games. (long jumping in mario might be called a glitch... but we can teleport through walls... making the previous pale in comparison)

there is also the matter of the soundglitch and similar things, which will almost always occur during a run, are definitely a glitch, but do not make the run count as "glitched"

"Glitchless% means, you have to play the game, the way it was men't to be played"

i would argue that that is a different category altogether, closer to a "fast playthrough" then a proper speedrun.

im sure that if you were to write up a definition for a run like that, record it, and then send both to one of the supermods (garl_memory & sephjul, which i could forward you to if they dont respond on here) they will gladly add it as a category

and btw welcome to the insanity that is legacy of kain speedruns :D

if you have any questions feel free to message me or daemord at any time. he knows more about the routing, and we both have a lot of in depth knowledge into the technical aspects of these games.

you can find us most easily on steam: http://steamcommunity.com/id/DasDuriel/ and http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198041120784/

oh one last thing: i would love it if you could download the trainer and use it to display the "short short stats" ingame and post a screenshot of that here. weve been investigating those for a while now and are using the "frte" to distinguish between 30 and 60fps categories (dont worry if yours arent exactly 30, as long as theire not above 40 it still counts as 30fps)
