Firstly, I have reason to believe that Xenkaroshi is a cheating player.
The reason is that he is emulator player and does not know the differences between fceux, fceu, VirtuaNES, Nestopia, BizHawk, and Mesen emulators.
All of his videos were played using emulator, but they did not display real-time frame rates, did not scroll continuously increasing frame rates, and did not involve any hand movements, making it impossible to confirm that they were real operations.
And then, Xenkaroshi's character is also very poor.
When someone uses Nestopia and BizHawk emulators for submission, because they do not understand these two emulators, they will reject others' submissions for abnormal reasons and blacklist them.
He often returns articles to other players for reasons such as not having the frame rate enabled, frame rate, etc. As I mentioned earlier, his own videos do not have those enabled.
I don't know how this kind of person became an auditor?
Finally, Mantuoluo is an excellent player among our Chinese players
But when he submitted Gradius, Gradius II, Life Force, he often received malicious returns and delayed reviews from xenkaroshi, which is a despicable behavior.
When Mantuoluo submitted Gradius, Xenkaroshi repeatedly modified the rules. First, he returned Mantuoluo's article using Nestopia on the grounds that it was not an FCEUX emulator. Then Mantuoluo used FCEUX to submit again, and Xenkaroshi returned the article on the grounds that the frame rate was not open. Then Mantuoluo opened the frame rate and submitted again, and Xenkaroshi returned the article on the grounds that he did not record the Windows desktop. Finally, Mantuoluo recorded everything he said and resubmitted it. Xenkaroshi maliciously delayed the review for 13 days, because if it was not approved within 14 days, the moderator could be reported and cancelled.
Why are Chinese players unwilling to submit NES games here now? It's because many of these moderators' own videos cannot be confirmed to be true and are full of malice towards us.
Mantuoluo really likes the Gradius series, but he was very disappointed because someone like Xenkaroshi maliciously rejected the article, so he cancelled his account. However, after Mantuoluo cancelled his account, Xenkaroshi, who couldn't prove that he wasn't a cheating player, instead came forward to question others' clown behavior, which really made me laugh.
Mantuoluo is now a game video player. But Xenkaroshi is still a emulator player.
Shouldn't game consoles be more authoritative than emulators?
Why isn't Mantuoluo the moderator and Xenkaroshi the moderator?
I think Xankaroshi should be revoked or banned because he is a cheating player and has returned articles from other normal players for abnormal reasons.
Not only mantuoluo, but also another Chinese, S.C.A.T.: Special Cybernetic Attack Team(1991) J, we all know the World Record of Japanese version is following link, 24m15s, 6 seconds faster than Rash, which refused by Rash.
For the past 8 months, xenkaroshi has not been a moderator on this board. I personally have reviewed almost every run currently on the board (and frame counted them with somewes.com), and this recent incident happened during a time frame I was unable to. Due to the recent increased volume of runs being submitted to the board, I did not review every single run with attention to extreme detail, and I also wanted the other moderators, CzaR and MTL to have a chance to approve some of the community's progress.
Because MTL has removed all the videos of his runs, I have no way of confirming his side of the incident. Moving forward, I will start making detailed notes on frame counts in areas that could possibly lead to cheating and comb through the boards again for anything I may have missed before. But as this game is very prone to lag in many places, without a perfected TAS run to review against, it will not be a perfect solution. This is by far the most competitive timing board I moderate for where the top times are within 1 second by more than 2-3 people, so I may have been approaching this a bit too casually, and for that I apologize.
Specifically, for the WR single player timing incident, Charlie did a comprehensive analysis of his and MTL's run from a synced start and by the end there was at least an 8 frame difference, in Charlie's favor. MTL had posted that if there was a problem with his frame count to have the other mods recheck it. By the time I was able to review either run (within 24 hours of MTL's submission), MTL's runs were already removed and account deleted, which strongly raises suspicions of cheating.
All I can say is, they killed me as mod here so they won. I'm not gonna say anything more about it because what's done is done :) Czar's at least been here with me back when I was still mod, for at least 5y and he continues to be here. So all history in terms of reviews and submissions and rule changes - he was always here when it happened.
So either I guess he was ok with it all or he just didn't check in enough to have an opinion. I'm actually not throwing him under the bus here despite him ultimately being my demise :P I'm just saying, this was not a sole dictatorship, there were other mods and they could have spoken up and had me gone ages ago if they truly saw mismanagement.
Anyone is welcoem to go through my videos, that's fine. I have never cheated, I will say that. I know FCEUX is outdated, Mesen didn't exist back then. I didn't wanna mix different emulators because shmups dont give much leeway in terms of timesaves when optimized, and having various emulators allowed with different lag emulation felt more messy - so I just stuck with the one for everyone.
Lastly, I took over from Toad - he modded me into this because at the time I had actively ran this, gradius nes and the GB installments. That being said, SRC themselves doesn't really provide a formal education on how to be a moderator, this is all volunteer work. By that I mean, they don't teach you the ins and out of any universal setup come emulation specific rules. how to detect discrepancies or any of that. If you have that knowhow and background coming in then YES, PLEASE TAKE MOD SEAT!!! SRC is extremely fragile in the sense that this is not an organization with employees, ANYONE can moderate. I did the best I could given I have zero background on a technical field. But that is SRC in a nutshell, if better more suited peopel step up, GREAT! I've never claimed to be an expert, i'm just a runner trying to keep it fair competition. So if people take issue with some of my choices then absolutely, I can take responsibility for that, as much as SRC understands they allow people like me to be put in these positions without knowledge/background check on how to handle cases like these.
As an emu runner myself, I know we get alot of extra eyes on us. Which is why I've never had 1 single run rejected myself because I make sure I read rules for every game I run. And it is alot and across many platforms.. I'm also an absolute pleb with speedruns so everyone can beat me without trying lol, but for people in the top like the former boi here... That gets stricter, spec on emu. Ultimately I kept him up there for YEARS, depsite feeling something was off with his submissions, but I didn't call him out: I waited for others to notice something I couldn't. Apparently people did..
We know why im gone, it's not because I was a super corrupt moderator, it's because I was against the big 20 score category - and whatever, done is done :P But I absolutely am too stupid to even start splicing vods, and def too stupid to know how to detect them. And let's be honest, alot of people here can confirm they don't find me all that smart: ya, fair?
That being said, I wish you all good. Really! Charlie you're so badass for beating a time I didn't even know was humanly possible at this point. I felt so bad for Neetsu whom is an amazing japanese runner across alot of shmup games. And they had their time beat by someone I suspected was a fraud for years. I'm happy to see Neetsu getting some of their records back <3.
I didn't understand what Xenkaroshi meant by posting such a long article.
But what can be confirmed is that Xenkaroshi has no frame rate, no ongoing frame rates, no recorded hand movements, and no effective explanations for his videos.
There is an idiom in China called“贼喊捉贼”.
The meaning is that a person who is a thief calls out to catch the thief.
Now we see that Xenkaroshi's own video is problematic, and he then attacks others for cheating without substantial evidence.
Isn't it in line with the 贼喊捉贼?
Players from other countries have also reported Xenkaroshi's malicious behavior Xenkaroshi is unfriendly to players all over the world
Moreover, he is online every day, and there is no explanation for maliciously delaying the review of submissions until the 13th day, which shows how bad his character is.
If people can prove me cheating, let them! I'm not taking down my vods and deleting my src account like I got caught with my hands in the cookiejar.. You also seem to fail to understand the concept of STRICTER RULES FOR WORLD RECORD SUBMISSIONS. I trust this community to do right objectively for everyone. And if they find out I've been cheating, they are really good at their job, because that's news to even me LOL.
Sounds to me like your boi couldn't framecount properly though, so maybe leave it to the mods to sort things out :)
@xenkaroshi I reviewed these records of ManTuoLuo and there was no so-called cheating. There might be timing errors in the video "Life force", and he himself also noted it when submitting. If you have very strong evidence to prove that he cheated, please show it. If not, please shut up.
By the way, timing errors and cheating are two different concepts. Don't you understand such a simple truth? Moreover, you have a strong prejudice against MTL. I think you lack the qualities of a moderator. At least in this regard, you are very poor.
@wddwef I never said I had evidence, go back and read https://www.speedrun.com/lifeforce/forums/xkqlf :)
@xenkaroshi So, if you want to express your doubts about his remarks, you must present evidence before speaking; otherwise, this would be regarded as defamation and rumor-mongering. This is not what a qualified moderator should be like
I stayed quiet for years until some other runners started notcing something was weird with his submission. The moment they noticed something iffy, he gets rid of the evidence and leaves. If he's innocent then why act this way?
also what are you even doing here dude, your account was made 24min ago and you're just joining in on this alone??
I just checked it out. This person's video can still be watched. If there is really cheating, could the evidence be kept indefinitely?
Before, when I watched his runs, I found that he had innovated many methods. I asked him privately and he taught me very patiently. I don't think this Chinese person is that annoying. You may not like this person, but please don't slander him. Otherwise, I will keep reporting you. @xenkaroshi
Do you think it's reasonable for xenkaroshi to be online every day, have time to surf the internet, have time to post on forums without evidence to question others for cheating, but don't have time to read player submissions?
Xenkaroshi claimed to have passed the review with strict standards, but he did not follow any of them. As a moderator, is this reasonable?
Seriously Czar and Lynn, if ya'll want Gradius series mods after you deal with this headache, im happy to delegate since this guy likes these games so much. I AM HAPPY to give you more power there so I don't have to deal with this anymore lol. Just send me a message later and I'll add ya'll
