This is the best English patch we have. It's still really buggy on the approved emulators. To avoid a crash, don't press any buttons while the START menu is open except B to close it, and make sure you press START to skip to the title menu before the "attract mode," or else there's a chance it'll lock you out of proceeding. I don't recommend using this for actual runs as it's relatively unstable, but it's very nice for learning the game. Patch this in with Lunar IPS.
