Nobody is going to run current patch, at least not more than a single run. You're the only who can help your cause and I still can't see the point of creating this thread. Either way, you're welcome.
@T_Nap, you don't need to use a 3rd party software to downpatch if you have the old patch files.
Paper Mario is a game from 2000 which is very hard/expensive to get your hands on. So, in terms of "making the impossible possible" you're being a hypocrite, Borderlands is waaaaaaaaay more accessible.
Nothing is stopping anyone to do a different kind of run. The funniest thing is that guys like you come from time to time out of nowhere criticizing other runs without having done any of your "legit fun" runs.
They made it less broken but it's still unbalanced compared to the original versions and playing at 30fps, The worst part in my opinion is the enemy shots stopping your movement too much and the AR recharging time is like 2 seconds slower.
Playing at 60fps is harder and it has disadvantages in terms of speed because the AR recharges slower and your movement will be hindered because the enemy's projectiles have more staggering power
Edit: Hopefully they will fix all of this in later patches but as of now, 30 fps is very likely faster to do runs
It was about 3x more damage. Now with the patch is something in between 1 and 2x
Lots of things are tied to framerate in this game and it seems their "fixes" are based on adjusting ratios which means it will be hard for them to make the game feel exactly like it is on 30fps
It seems that even after the patch that supposably fixed the framerate bugs, many things are still inconsistent like enemy damage, longer ar-meter cooldown, smaller invicibility frames, enemy damage staggering, and many other things
I'm not sure how they're going to fix this, they failed once to fix the damage thing and there are so many problems still. I'd suggest for anyone playing on PC to cap the game at 30 fps, as silly as this may be.
The PC port is broken right now, at 60fps you receive 3x damage compared to 30fps. If they don't fix it I'd suggest a variable 30/60FPS.
Edit: This is important as well. I don't know if >60 FPS makes quick time events even faster..
There are many skips that can be done with quicksaves, I have yet to upload my 1:08 run but I've done it using FOV and headbobbing modification and I don't plan to play this game in the original way because it makes me dizzy, but I understand, I'm skeptical to allow that even though it doesn't change the game mechanics..
I think if glitchless didn't exist, someone would do it having leaderboard or not. I'm all for glitchless runs in games that are very broken and that you skip entire stages with relative minimum effort.
Not having players running a certain category doesn't mean it's invalid, all it means it's not popular. For instance, NG+/Classic has less players in the leaderboard than Glitchless, should that be removed too?
It's certainly hard to define what is glitch or not in such a buggy game. I see glitchless in every game as not using the game's glitches to speed up your run, it's arbitrary, but speedruns are arbitrary and what is important is common agreement between people who run and even if someone doesn't agree, they can still do their own thing.
The only thing I see as a borderline glitch in the glitchless category is the door skip in Kadingir Sanctum (which is arguable because jumps can be weird depending on the surface, like giving you boosts or putting you in a higher coordinate if you're precise) and a jump in The Well which puts you near on the top of a invisible wall attached with a small ledge on the mountain.
Gauss boosts are not glitches, neither are the use of reloads and sequence breaks. So, in the end I think there's not much to blame glitchless for being invalid or arbitrary other than 2 small sections of the run. The rest of the rejection by most players is merely due to not liking the category without technical arguments.
Removing loading times from console games is only possible through retiming your video recording removing the loading parts. It's very complicated, you're better off just doing runs including them
Should these things be allowed? Some are fairly simple to implement.
Quicksave: Alias in the wolf.cfg Infinite stamina: seta g_infiniteStamina "1" Flamethrower: seta g_unlockedFlameDLC "1"
FOV and head bobbing require a bit more of changes but from all the changes they're the ones that less impact gameplay mechanics.
Hey guys, I edited the music files inside the game
I muted all the songs. But if you wish you can replace them for other songs. I'm not sure if the length of the song has to be the same of the one that you're replacing, so becareful with that.
You'll want to go to your 'Prey' folder and then to the 'base' folder. Extract pak_sound.pk4 with WinRAR and go to sound > music.
You'll want to edit takemehome.ogg.
Now, inside sound > music > roadhouse you can find the songs that play in the indian bar. Edit them all.
To save the work of editing you can download the muted tracks here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B5WhK2jzUMPnWkM5LUxBbE9qa3M
To replace the files inside the package, open pak_sound.pk4 with WinRAR and throw the edited files inside the folders where they belong.
Totally agree with r0bd0g, amiibos shouldn't be considered any% because in about 5 years or less the same amiibos will be a rare find which completely defeats the purpose of fair competition.
The discussion is not really about pay2win because p2w starts in the moment you can or cannot afford a console and its accessories. It's more about finding the fastest route for the game without requiring a rare gadget.
As for the different versions and consoles and language versions @gymnast86 mentioned, they reaffirm the categories segmentation argument, they're different platforms, they're different games. Optimally emulators would be complete and everyone would run them to avoid discrepancies, but that's not the way it goes because they sometimes lack fidellity and some people still follow "console puritanism". It's fine anyone can run what they want but let's not compare apples to bananas.
I'll just leave this here
The hardest thing is the XP farming because it's not enough for 2 players. Specially in the first hour of the run. I wouldn't be surprised if Lilith+Roland (with Lilith as a host) is the best team composition.
You'd get a team bonus XP classmod for Roland as soon as possible and an intuition classmod for Lilith.
Hi,
I'm wondering why nobody has done a single segment of this before. I did some tweaking for this game and my loading times are really quick now using a SSD http://www.tweakguides.com/COJ_1.html
Having a loadless livesplit component would be ideal but I think that will take a while to be made since there are no runners here.
Furthermore, I found a glitch that allows you to infinite jump and clip through ceilings. I can make a video if anyone asks.
PS.: Chapter IX is soooooooo boring
Just want to let everyone know that under the Resources section there are save files for all characters level 50 (no DLC) and all characters level 0, including the ones you need to beat the game first in order to unlock.
