By how much BFG edition is faster than the original when using the source-port?
Hi, what are the differences between the two versions?
The only alternative is to use your finger to mash, like people did for a long time in this game. It's unhealthy if done too much though, play safe :)
It is arbitrary, when I started to learn this game the rule was already like this, I just did a run within the rules to post on the leaderboards but I have a real Any% run (ending 1) on my youtube channel.
I think the distance is slightly off, you should go farther. But I wouldn't be surprised if they changed something in the game that messed with this skip, BS1 and 2 remasters downgraded in terms of speedrunning, this was probably the case for this game too.
The game has a DLC (Episode 2) which adds some more levels. Playing the game in a single sitting (Episode 1 + 2) is possible because there isn't any kind of transition screen or presentation of the game, it's a continuation of the story and to my knowledge there's no way to start at episode 2 unless you use the Level select feature. Knowing this I propose these 2 new categories: Any% w/ DLC and NG+ Any% w/ DLC
Also, adding individual levels leaderboard would be a good idea since we have level select.
When I was rearranging the boards I probably didn't pass your runs to the new format, I apologize. You can resubmit them.
You need to open your inventory right before the cutscene activation. This way you can move during the cutscene.
It used to be a thing in the past but since the speedrun.com leaderboards were created for this game the only categoris available are any%/100%/100+%
In my opinion there should be Misc categories with the other item combinations as they require different routing. If you so wish try contacting hvqoi or etholon through twitter/twitch.
I have no clue how this version works, if you really want to play it, record your run and post it here on the thread, then I'll create the category ok?
I also found out that there's a SNES rom for the game http://www.gunmanclive.com/snes/. It only has the first stage. If someone wants to speedrun it I'll add it for the giggles.
To be honest I never noticed that you need to press something to make him stand up, I used to press right all the time until he moved and I started the timer when he moved.
From what I saw in other games, the splits are paused when the game crashes because they have an auto-split plugin.
So, in Apotheon's case we can do the same, pause when the crash happens and restart it when you press to continue the game.
1- I asked on SDA as they might have a good guideline for this situation 2 - Softlocks are a part of the run, if you get one, too bad. You can restart the game but the timer shouldn't be paused. 3 - If you do a run, you can submit it as any% and I will create the category
Hey guys, sorry for kinda late answer, I have to confess that I don't really check sr.com forums. Thankfully, promyy messaged me.
A 4p coop run was made last year, it was more of a fun play than a speedrun, each player chose a different class, but we finished the any% route in less than 5 hours (me, Abahbob, incalex and S).
The hardest thing about the coop is the lag (if you don't live close to each other) and also the experience gathering because the enemies are harder to kill. The good things are that you can dupe weapons and equipments and also do sledge shotgun launches and send your coop partner(s) really high and far away.
I don't know anything about the all missions route but I'd say that it can maybe be faster than the single player due to the fact that player can spread and do multiple missions at the same time.
PS: this is the only footage left from the 4p coop run http://www.twitch.tv/pentaleks/c/4366447 http://www.twitch.tv/pentaleks/c/4366405 http://www.twitch.tv/pentaleks/c/4366385
It's already in there, when you're going to submit the run you have the option to choose a platform.
