I had "walking in a pit" happen to me aswell, might be worth investigating for other maps. But it seems pretty tight.
I wouldn't be surprised if this game is just junky. We still don't know what specific circumstances make this glitch possible in first place, so who knows what else there's for us.
Hm, won't know since this thing doesn't work for me. However you are right that ammo in clip doesn't change in other runs. It might be varying or we might have Charlie splicing here <_<

first of all, they do have hangar IL: https://www.speedrun.com/doom_unity/E1M1_Hangar second of all - steam version was updated to use bethesda unity version by default. This leaderboard here is for classic doom and for it you use doom.wad with whatever vanilla compatible source ports are there
probably, maybe some settings are wrong like encoder, or stream quality setting are too heavy and your PC can't handle it, can't tell for sure.
if you use straight up steam version then you need to submit to https://www.speedrun.com/doom_unity
if you got wad file from it and are using it with some sourceport then you need to record demos with use of bat file command, there should be guide
Just as a sidenote: I'm a bit out of a loop right now to properly read into it, but there are definitely things that I don't like with duke ILs. I sort of think they might need some better separation, but for that we would need proper save files.
When I did Hard ILs I specifically didn't collect nukes on any level to max, so that I always am at certain limit, which is obviously debatable. MAX difficulty is the most weird one and I'd really think that full profile would be the best bet for it as it is hard to track / do runs when you constantly have to reset your savefile. I can't really think of a good solution right now. I'll get back to thread later.

you buy it on steam or gog, then you either get doom.wad and play classic doom with it, or use bethesda's new sourceport and play that (note that it has its own leaderboards https://www.speedrun.com/doom_unity)
yes, it is not present in shareware version. I also not recommend using that one. Get Ultimate Doom and use DOOM.WAD from there.

Ye, I mean, you can do that, not that it will help you much, starting from menu is faster, also lets you to save, which is allowed in full-game runs, since you can't record "full" run as a demo without some port shenanigans.
Also it isn't really that difficult to run coop now on vanilla ports, since crispy doom works pretty good. But yes, there's no coop on srcom since it isn't that popular (in 4 years there were 0 requests) and when people really want to do it, they just do it the proper way - playing, recording a demo, submitting to dsda.
