the problem is more than well known about. i dont think the bump was necessary
seasonal leaderboard make really no sense for absolutely any game other than the most active ones. sm64 might have even a hundred unique runners a month but lets take ape escape 1 and youll get 0 or 1 on average and ape escape isnt even a small game with a couple of runners.
forums may be good in the example you provided about leaving your ideas to people interested but discord is way better in basically every other way. talking to people on forums is slow and weird since forums dont update on realtime. and id say having one thread per every game would be extremely messy and good luck talking about even two different categories at the same time.
and new people looking at speedrunning trough the wrong "lens" is basically their own fault. if you get intimidated by a big leaderboard or super fast wr then whyd you start running a game just because its popular, wouldnt blame src on that though src could help on that.
personally i hate having to go find my phone just to log in to something on my pc
its not really a queue. the mods can verify the runs in any order. but to anser the 2nd half. since you have been waiting for 2 months you should contact the mods and if you cant get ahold of them you can request to become the moderator of the game trough the support hub.
but looking at your profile im guessing its a minecraft run and minecraft has a lot of runs they need to verify so just wait. theyll verify it when they can.
when it asks about the leaderboard (for example "The leaderboards are easy to navigate") does it mean the leaderboard it self or the whole game page
@AntiPacifist yeah like i said depends on the game. you cant say that all 100% are harder than all any% runs for example. in some games any% could be harder than 100% because of some super hard ace credits warp or something and then in some other game 100% could be harder because it has a lot of hard tricks while the any% does not. same goes for all categories but blindfolded is essentially the same in all games, while some blindfolded runs are harder than others its most likely still way harder than any "normal" category.
and somewhat offtopic but sometimes the any% is the low% so they arent really comparable in terms of which one is harder
- short and/or 2d runs. they often require many many pixel and frame perfect inputs (smb 1 for example).
- not failing.
- depends on the game. you could say "blindfolded" is hardest for every game but thats a boring answer.
- if i dont care about the game im not running it. if i care about it then it doesnt matter if its optimized, hard, long or short
- depends on the run length. the shorter it is the more you will reset.
- the runs i do arent really "hard" they just require consistency which is hard.
