it just means the run doesnt have a date set.
the "never" is very poorly named though.
its listed in the livesplit website as "Pace Placement"

speedrun isnt a sport, its a hobby so you can do it in anyway you want. most important thing is to have fun so choose games you love try them out, see if you like the run.
all games have the same types of "get sub Xminute time" that are nice to go for.
your youtube video title does not matter what so ever. you can make it "cute cat videos" if you wanted. now of course if you want people to find it by searching on youtube then you might want to care what you title it as.
but generally if i have put [WR] somewhere in my title, i would later go back to edit that to [OldWR] once it was outdated. ive never used or seen anyone use [PB] because thats obvious, you wouldnt upload a run that wasnt a pb and if you did you would probably title it to explain why you uploaded it.
i personally just title my videos as:
gamename | categoryname | timeachieved
PipoSaru 2001 | Any% (Normal) | 1:52:23
Super Castlevania IV | Any% | 40:53
Ape Escape | 2 Players 1 Controller w/ Tohelot | 53:33 [WR]
i dont really put any [wr] tags anymore because it gets annoying to have to update the titles. that ape escape run is an exception because i think the run is cool :D
of course its not "bad" as it doesnt really affect anyone but i personally do not see a point in it or in advocating it (really dont think thats the word i wanted to use, huge brain fart.)
i know ape escape has one handed any% in the cat extensions
if this isnt a bot message. then you should post about this to the super metroid runners, not the public forums
the retrospy program should have an option for pc aswell now that i think about it.
that should work, just choose "generic pc pad" or whatever it was
if you are using the controller on pc. you can get input display with gamepadviewer.com
if you are playing on console you need a physical input display. you can make one yourself with the guides on the retrospy website or you can buy them from the site
