Where is that a lot of people's demand if I may ask ?
There is not really a lot of glitches in this game. Some of the skips like Mission 12 Dante is development intended.
The game will be dull and long to do without skips. On the top of that, I don't think requesting or asking categories at this time is a good idea either considering that Special Edition is getting released next month.
Hi,
The reason of that popping out is due to DMC4's super trainer exe file. It's a memory editing program, so naturally it makes anti-viruses freak out. This file is available in the resource so runners can do Boss Rush runs or practice specific mission rooms/skips/bosses.
It seems that Chrome and Firefox are able to detect that as well. Therefore, affecting everyone from accessing the guide or the run itself.
I just deleted it from resource and this time we are going to make external link for it rather than direct download.
If you still get the same screen on Chrome for instance click details and select visit this site. Other than that, it's Google Safebrowsing makes it go wild.
If someone can tell me how to reach into google for this removing the warning I'd appreciate it a lot.
Thanks to @Mysterion_06_ DMC2 optional doorsplitter is now available. As of now, you can break down the run more thoroughly and understand the time gain and loss better. Most notably Lucia's movement per room. All of this is integrated into LiveSplit.
Make sure that you are selecting appropriate options:
- Running NG requires you to untick anything related to NG+ options.
- If you are running Dante untick Lucia.
- Untick everything in options section, If you don't need doorsplitter
Load removal script has been commented out. The community already agreed that the game is fine as it is in RTA, therefore LRT is not required.
Please check resources for the following:
- Splits for doorsplitter. There's a lot of splits there, so we did the legwork of providing blank ones for everyone to use.
Thank you for taking your time to read and Have fun~
I used to run on Emulator so the experience is:
PS3 > Emulator > PS2 in terms of RTA. If you are looking for strong RTA time.
Since we are timed by IGT it doesn't really matter that much. We all are playing by the same level field.
What Drach mentioned about save the game was the Emulator advantage. The total is 2s I believe, while PS3 and PS2 save game time are the same.
After discussion within community, I added Bloody Palace as IL.
With how difficulty scaling works in this mode, we decided to have two variables for this particular mode. 1-100 and 1-1000.
Please check the rules before you attempt a run.
Using the necessary tools available. Boss Rush IL has been created.
The initial floor start is 9000. The character will die the moment it reaches floor 9900. This due to DMC2 Bloody Palace being endless.
Time begins at entering Bloody Palace and ends after using the final teleportation.
Regarding Trish, there is no difference between playing on Dante's Disc or Lucia.
Result screen is required verification purpose.
- Separated Onimusha PC 2003 version and HD Remaster from the board
There was discussion within the community in discord regarding PC 2003 advantage and why it should be separated from the HD remaster and such. A lot of agreement and disagreement happened, which led to creating this poll.
As per the results of the polls, I have put each Onimusha 1 versions (besides HD Remaster and PS2) under their own sub-categories. Genma Onimusha is no longer in miscellaneous.
- Added china region so that people can submit Onimusha 2003 PC runs
There was once an abandonware version non-steam PC back in 2003 that lets you skip any and all cut scenes which was only released in China and Russia. Plays much similar to original PS2 version.
After various test and work within the community. Jadusable2 and myself finally managed to get this port working smoothly. Please refer to the resource page.
Verification for each runs will be on-hold until most runners are able to use this port without any issues.
Back then we had to allow this since PS2/PS3/X360 is not very accessible on people who do not own original Hardware. However, right now we do (PC HDC).
Much like Cosmic clarified. Emulator is generally not allowed, as PCSX2 still, to this day, don't completely emulate the PS2 perfectly. This gives an unfair advantage with loading times, and game speed in general compared to the original PS2 hardware.
At first I vouched Emulator runs to be banned, but then I realised that we would lose old runs related to this game's history of WR especially runs that were made by PeterAfro and Radge.
Therefore, EMU runs will stay in misc documentation purpose.
Regions also been added to this game due significant difference between PS2 versions and other factors in HDC such as fast text skip based on the language you are using.

- Added Genma version category in the miscellaneous (Any% and 100%). Will be moved into the main category if the amount of runners increase.
- Added Xbox and X360 platforms due to Genma version
Onimusha: Warlords was ported to the Xbox in 2002 under the title Genma Onimusha. The key differences between this and the original version are:
- Cutscene skips
- Green Souls to absorb, up to five, activating it will make you invulnerable for a set amount of time and will heal you slowly, getting more green souls will keep the activation going until then. However, the green souls will make enemies stronger and may have a new attack or 2.
- Chargeable weapon attacks (up to Level 3) for strong slashes.
- All 3 orbs and their weapons are enhanceable together rather than separate. In order to use their Level 2 and 3 magic attacks, you have to hold down the magic attack button.
- Slightly different enemy placements, certain items have been moved around, and there are 30 fluorite to collect instead of 20.
- 4 different types of armour instead of 3.
- 2 different Dark Realms in the Keep (10 floors) and in the Well (20 floors). (Instead of just the same 20 floor DR in both areas.)
- 1 new rounded area on your way to a bridge you can cut, and the entrance (plus areas) to the Ogre Tower right where the Decorated Sword should be is now available (Though you need the Secret Key in the Keep Dark Realm to access it), beat the Ogre Tower boss to earn the Ogre Armor.
- 2 new enemies, the Doll (which can take a lot of hits) and the Wisps (similar like Stylazo [Samanouske Copy] but with flames in armor)
- Hard Mode is an unlockable. Original Onimusha doesn't have a Hard Mode.
Other than that, the rest of the game is just the same as the original. It is not worth to have Genma version as a separate page just because for a few differences.
- Moved New Game and New Game+ as a sub category
- Added Dark Realm as IL. Category is based on characters. You can do either in Normal or Oni
Uploaded essential resource for PC players. Rules updated for PC players due to the starter package fix for PC port.
Will be listing adjustments made to the page here.

- Leaderboard overhaul. Any% per difficulty has now been moved into sub category. You select mode followed by difficulty of your choice.
- New Category 100% check the rules for the requirements
- Rules updated
- Added Puzzle mini game IL board
- Added The Adventures of Heihachi IL board
- Emulator is staying banned since the game is not stable for 60 fps and also runs 200% speed
- Theme is changed
- Timing method changed into RTA for the same reason as the first two games
Will be listing adjustments made to the page here.
6-01-2020
- Leaderboard overhaul. Any% now has additional tab. You select mode which is New Game or Ultimate Mode followed by difficulty of your choice.
- Rules updated
- Added The Man in Black IL board
- Moved Critical to it's own category as ultimate mode cannot access this
- All story routes has been removed. It's not possible to get everything in one segment as choosing between Kotaro's death and Magoichi's killing Ginghamphatts 3 is a good example for this matter
- Theme is changed
- Timing method changed into RTA for the same reason as Onimusha1
Essentially, New Game+ means that you start the game with the equipment that carries over from your previous playthrough. This game does not provide that. You skip the cutscene only if you have seen it before from your last playthrough.
This discussion is over. See "Page Updates" Sticky Thread.
Platforms are merged and IGT is now irrelevant.
5/30/2020
- Leaderboard re-hauled
- The rules has also been updated
- Timer method switched from IGT to RTA
- Moved Oni Spirits to IL board
- Platforms are merged
- Adjusted theme background to match the theme
In PS2 IGT is bound to the in-game fps. However, after further investigation and discussion within the community:
IGT has proven to be a mess and should not fit to the standard. It mostly just queries IGT at the end result screen, instead of tracking it through the whole game. Furthermore, having to pb by over a minute each time to get an actual pb from IGT is just absurd. Eventually, it just won't reflect how optimized the top times are.
IGT is now irrelevant, however we still need the result screen for verification purpose.
Happy Running!
After some consideration. I decided to create a discord server where we talk about the speedrun and just hang out. For those who are interested in running this series, feel free to join and ask us any questions you want!
Happy to hear that you got accepted to NASA2020.
Have you tried contacting other ultimate runners ? I would love to help, but I am afraid that time zone doesn't favour me with other plans.
As for the "overall community", Do you mean discord ? I have been debating to make one to get together. However, I decided to wait for it until capcom announces the second game or the rest of original trilogy.
Reason being other than Oni1's un-skippable cut-scene, the game lacks accessibility (Oni3 broken pc port, PS2 exclusive from Oni2 and DoD...etc). Thus, I think it would be better to wait till the rest of Oni games would get ported into next or current gen systems.
You wouldn't really need to level up at all. You only absorb the souls if you needed health recovery and such. The whole run uses Bishamon sword without any upgrades the only exception is Heccuba.
Doppelganger / Stylado dies in 2 hits with Bishsword. The first hit should be guaranteed, however the second hit you need to fish out his attack then punish.
Use Bishsword on Marcellus 2. Punish his attacks with your ultimate move. He gets into the second phase after 2 Hits.
Yes, Fortinbras is faster on Bishsword you use regular attacks to knock him down then ultimate attack for his eye. However, if you want to play safe on knock down Shippu spam then Bishsword the eye once knocked down.
