@ZenicReverie "It does more than prevent A, it prevents also A!" end-result is the same, person X aquires your password, by brute force, by guessing, or by magically having it. all 2FA adds is another password that automatically changes every x.
what matters is that if the site is hacked, 2FA won't save you. it's a farce. actual hackers would go for the site to get all data, not just for a single account to troll.
But let's run over a hypothetical situation. Attacker X wants your account. All 2FA's I've seen so far were implemented as a cheap afterthought, only prompting the 2FA code after you already logged in with the password. so, Attacker X just tries relentlessly until he reaches the 2FA - he has your password at this point, method doesn't matter, brute force, magic, guess, mind reading, whatever. the only barrier between him & your data is a really short password that changes every now & then. he knows the parameters of the system, as that's easily observable by creating an account yourself and enabling 2FA. what does that mean in the end? He'll get into your account, with your phone, or not, 2FA won't be any more difficult for an attacker than aquiring your password in the first place. it's just another hurdle to get in, anyone who really wants to get in will get in.
but hey, if it makes you feel safe, go for it.
I still want to see someone do a deathless run, up until now everyone has had at least 1 death which is kinda sad.
In the scenario that the site actually got hacked, no amount of security would save your information. 2FA only helps a bit for a very specific thing: brute force attacks on your account.
Unless I'm actually forced to use 2FA (cough steam cough) I'm not using it because there's literally no benefit for me, my password ain't gonna be brute-forced by any sane hacker anyway. why you might ask? because most of my passwords don't follow the password rules of the site I'm using it on. any sane hacker that wants to brute force would look at the password rules of the site to save time at least a bit.
because it wasn't in the initial listings, it'll get added as soon as someone submits a run for it.
Is it possible for me to send proof with my wii and then speeedrun wth an emulator?
Just wondering how that would work out for you. You can't send in proof from your Wii but not use proof from that Wii, you either use the Wii or you don't - proving you own it doesn't really matter for speedrunning.
Might wanna fix "disuptes" to "disputes" unless that is the correct spelling and I'm a tryhard.
As far as speedrunning is concerned, there isn't really anything other than that one run, sorry about that. But don't let a void of speedrun related informations keep you from running the game!
Updated OP to be up to date.
while I agree w/ @Mitsunee I also agree there has to be a method in which completely inactive (super)mods could be demodded. not based on run-verification ofc, and definitely not an automated process. There's a lot of mischief that could happen should an inactive person decide to return, and dislike the way the board has been managed.
Clearly a description shouldn't change whether or not a run is verified at least in my opinion.
don't forget that there's also often stuff put into the description that is important to the verification, for example if the run was submitted with image proof.
was MHG consider to be Monster hunter 1 too or not?
If you're playing MHG, you're playing MHG, not MH1. while they have the same content to a point, MHG & MH1 are seperate games.
You may want to read through this: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/71673
it's not difficult to increase your limit from 15 minutes to 12 hours, that should be more than enough to fit runs in at worst 2 parts.
size differences
This is always a thing when fighting anything in Monster Hunter, yes, it makes the time different a bit every time. But when you're equipped with good gear it's not making too much of a difference.
the quality wasn't HD
That's because the console can't output at HD resolutions. the console outputs at SD, ergo PAL or NTSC(-J) and composite is terrible quality compared to HDMI anyway, if you have a GV-USB2 or a 10$ knock-off, it doesn't really matter.
so could you potentially put all shooters together or something
you could, but that's not what that series is doing.
Pokemon Mystery dungeon & Chocobo are spin-offs from the original mystery dungeon series, that's why they're in there.
for example you could put Hyrule Warriors in the Dynasty Warriors series as well as the Zelda series (or just delete its existence entirely, but that's just me) another example is Pokémon Picross, which is (or should be as I didn't check) in the Picross & the Pokémon series.
putting all shooters together is the responsibility of the mods, tagging their games correctly, so you can just select the correct tag on the /games page.
because necro >_> this specific thread has been dead for quite a while.
