I own a Nintendo wii but it is at my grandma's but i can't speedrun a game on it but i can only do it at my house will an emulator it says emulators are bannable. Is it possible for me to send proof with my wii and then speeedrun wth an emulator?

Mostly of the time Wii emulators are banned or it has it's own subcategory (Ask the moderators of the game in question) But it is allowed to practice the game on an emulator, and do an actual run on your Wii console.

Wii emulation is notoriously inaccurate, I don’t know many games that actually allow it unfortunately.

Just wondering how that would work out for you. You can't send in proof from your Wii but not use proof from that Wii, you either use the Wii or you don't - proving you own it doesn't really matter for speedrunning.

What -- exactly -- is it that you think you want to do? If your run is done on emulator, your video proof will be that run. What specifically is it that you want to do? Once you know that, ask the moderators for the game. There's very few rules that apply to every game without fail, and this isn't one of them.

It's not about owning the console/game here. When emulators are banned it's due to one thing: differences between playing on hardware vs. emulator.

The cause can vary:

• Inaccurate emulation (less lag, game runs faster, graphical glitches, etc.)
• Control differences (e.g. DS stylus vs. PC mouse)
• Reduced load times

When these differences exist It's up to the mods of each game to decide if it's worth it to track emulator runs as separate categories or ban them outright.
